  1. We'd batter you lot home and away with ease by 20+ Your promotion just prayed on the weakness with this fixture
  2. It's only an independent person as you put it if they've established an average in the European top league. If not, they're automatically given Category 2 status which is a 4 unless they're USA or Commonwealth then they're given a Category 3 status.
  3. Regardless of track surface, if Ward is as World Class as he believes he is then the conditions given to him are irrelevant. All 16 will have to overcome the same problems.
  4. I'm not sure why some are upset by Milik having a 4.00 average? The way the BSPA works the averages today is correct. They do have a system and it's simple. Milik wasn't involved in any of the other European top leagues so rightly given his current average. IMO no rider should have their average established by what they do in individual events. League racing is a team sport so GP's, qualifiers, SEC etc shouldn't even come into an assessed riders average. For the record, Milik obtained an 8.80 in the Polish 2nd Division in 2013
  5. Thought I add this here which I'd put on the Leicester v Peterborough thread:- People are getting hung up on the reserve being fixed into the team for the whole season. I couldn't see that rule at all but did see this which tells me they can be fired. You can only replace from the existing or soon to be extended draft list. 17.4.2 A Teams combined MA for the top 5 positions must not exceed 32.00 points nor include more than 2 x “A” grade Riders or 2 Doubling-Up Riders (satisfying the same conditions as for the initial Team Declaration) when re-declared, either permanently or temporarily, except where the MA of the introduced Rider is equal to, or lower than the Rider being replaced. Similarly only Riders with the same or lower FTDP Grading may be re-declared for the 6th or 7th positions

  7. Agreed, teenage kicks has no place on the terraces with modern teenager's. That song hasn't aged well in my opinion, if there's a different more modernised version maybe but not the original
  8. Sometimes you really are like a 3 year old. Just because some "professional" predictions have put Wolves in the top 4 you're jumping around like a loon calling everyone on the BSF a moron pretty much. It's opinion, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Calm ya skull and come back to reality
  9. Not bothered by rule bending. Not bothered about average manipulation. Not bothered by clubs chopping and changing riders. All I want for 2014 is rider's putting in 100% commitment to the cause and the fans repay the favour with 100% of their support. This is one of the biggest years in British Speedway history with all the changes. Global Speedway is bigger than it's ever been, especially with TV coverage. British, Swedish League's, E(L)RC, SGP, SWC, SEC, Best Pairs all Live on our TV's, something that's never ever been seen before. Polish speedway live to the Swedes which I believe is something new to them too. Us fans have an opportunity to spread the word. If we genuinely want the sport to thrive and you don't believe the BSPA are doing enough then it's down to us. SPEEDWAY IS COMING BACK FIGHTING, LET'S GET IT ON.........................
  10. I said genuine heatleaders could move to 2 or 4 and be up against reserves because the 2nd strings will obtain a higher average due to the easier rides they'll be facing during meetings
  11. Tai came across very well on Game Changers this morning. Seeing as it's based around kids none of them seemed put off by his physical appearance. He seemed to enjoy himself and isn't frightened to make an idiot of himself either. He really is the best thing Britain has had in the sport for decades and I've turned into a major fan of his.
  12. The new format looks great initially as it will keep meetings more competitive. But thinking about it a little by what you just said, come August the league could become very very mismatched. There will be 2nd string riders with higher averages than the genuine heatleaders. That means they'll be moved into one of the top 3 team spots and potentially a World class rider will be placed against reserves at 2 or 4.
  13. Nicklas Porsing is also a young German dear oh dear
  14. Obviously there are limitations regarding some clubs but it's down to them to come up with idea. Just because some clubs can't have airhorns doesn't mean the rest of the sport should follow suit And that alone is a major problem. We need the teens & early 20's to come in. The only way to do that is to make sure it's enjoyable. I don't care what anyone says, the racing alone will never achieve that. We need to create a whole package from 7pm to 10pm, no gaps / dead spots. Does every genre need to be covered? I don't think so. When you look at most people, especially the older generation they generally just have a good old chin wag during breaks. For me, music is for the younger generation to enjoy. Again, keeping them interested with filling gaps. With the music, before and after races it has to be up beat high tempo stuff. Once the 2 mins is hit there should be classic tense music. At King's Lynn they've done this occasionally and it does bring people's focus back to race time.
  15. That boring old chestnut Steve was just stating fact, nothing more nothing less.
  16. Absolutely. Some people's hatred of all things Poole seems to cloud their judgement. Poole are current Elite League champions The Elite League trophy IS theirs, it's in their trophy cabinet It's now down to the other 9 teams to take it off them Until then, at this present time Steve Shovlar is 100% spot on & some just can't handle the fact Steve Shovlar is right & their heads are about to explode
  17. shovlar's going fishing forget the result Bjerre & Iversen will take some stopping as will our reserves Kerr & Rose. Not far off the pace at all. Just a shame we now have to wait so long to get the official fixtures under way
  18. To think some of them had only seen the track for the first yesterday they are bloody quick. The gulf between Polish and British speedway is very evident
  19. 6pm and it looks like Buster's estimated 4000 might fall a little short
  20. King's Lynn's main rivals are Peterborough & Ipswich. Reason is they're close and they're shyte. Always plenty of banter when the 2 teams clash (not always friendly). Always check for their results and love it when they get battered. It's just a great shame they're both in different leagues. One thing is certain though, I'd never want one of these tracks to close down. In terms of rivalry in the Elite League today, the only little bit of bitterness remains with Birmingham but that has only filtered over from both our Premier League days. Some decent clashes and war of words between clubs management. Other than that it's all hugs and kisses
  21. Funny thing is, I am in marketing and we have cut back on advertising expense. The whole reason I suggested what Sky may have done is because it's what we do. Our company has almost hit half year target simply by planting seeds. We've put promos on our website unadvertised and just let it run by word of mouth and it's far more active. We've found If we advertise a promo more than half who returned our current customer surveys said there must be a catch & don't follow it up. Flyers, mail merge letters just end in the bin not even read & cold calls, the person you need to speak to is never available or they hang up (as I do at home). Word of mouth is the most powerful tool in modern business marketing especially with, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. The added expense isn't required.
  22. What is it exactly you're so upset about? Let's get to the point here. Is it they didn't advertise or the fact you didn't get to buy one and you're getting a sulk on? Sky priced the tickets £12.50 on their website. How long that price is reduced for doesn't need to be advertised. Sky didn't need to spend money on advertising as Twitter, Facebook, Speedway Forum, texts & phone calls between friends & family sorted that. Sky, BSPA, SCB, ACU, FIM, GoSpeed or my wife has nothing to answer
  23. After leaving the sh!yte on the box early raced down to track and only missed the 1st heat. So pleased I made it. There was some good racing on show, beautiful weather & a terrific crowd. Mads must have been so pleased. Rider of the day for me was Kildermand. This bloke gets a bit loose on the bike but boy is he great to watch. Right out of the younger Nicki Pedersen draw.
