  1. The only safest option I can think of is for cc to be reduced to 400cc. Riders & tuners are constantly testing for more raw speed. Time on the track ain't really any quicker but power output of the machines is. The 1000>6000rpm difference from an old motor (1990) is around 0.4 of a second faster (May not seem a great deal but that is massive). The torque is down though. The 1990 motors ran about 60bhp at 7000rpm but now it's around 10000rpm which means riders having to twist the throttle further south giving the impression on more speed but in fact they getting less & less throttle control and if the bike snaps the only option is pretty much 'get off the bike as soon as possible'. There isn't any more accidents than in previous seasons but there IS more for the higher profile & professional riders than before as they constantly keep looking for that 'raw speed'.
  2. Anyone know what happened to Iversen tonight. 2+1 from 3 is a very unusual score. Crash, just a bad night, ill??? He's been missing off Twitter too. Very strange
  3. When push comes to shove Kennett can't mix it. Major bottler. TeamGB is all about passion & hunger & that's something Bridger, Barker & Worrall have in abundance. Any of those 3 should be ahead of both Kennett & King who's similar to Kennett.
  4. I'm not having that Phil. The place would have been rocking regardless of who had the GB flag on their chest. You could throw Kelvin Tatum out there as Wildcard and the place would still be jumping.
  5. Kind of agree but Middlo (the prat) had already stated that him and Woffy guaranteed their places
  6. Well, after tonight's showing I think Worrall & Kennett will be / should be ruled out. Sticking by my team of:- 1, Harris 2, Woffinden 3, Cook 4, Bridger
  7. Either way, on current form both are showing that they maybe deserve a shot. I still wouldn't pick Worrall but they're certainly making it difficult for Middlo to ignore
  8. That all sounds very bitter the above post. If Lambert was allowed to ride Premier League he would but being 15 National League is the only option. Regarding only being a 3 average. What else should he be?? Without a league average anywhere else a 3 is the only option available. Regarding only riding at home. He has no need to ride tracks away in the National League as that experience will come next year when he steps up to the PL in April. Everyone is just guessing he's only doing home meetings because he missed the Stoke meeting & it sounds like a bloody good job he did to by the sounds of it.
  9. No complaints from me at all. Awesome tonight all 7 of the riders That just brings me onto the King's Lynn riders only kidding. Tonight, I have no doubt some of the PL teams would of had a tough night against the Young Stars, they were just bang on form
  10. I said I wouldn't go to a Young Stars meeting again but never say never. See if I can find something to moan about this time
  11. Woffy has said he wants Worrall & Cook as his fellow Countrymen at King's Lynn
  12. There's no way I'd pick Worrall. Even as a Stars fan that would be a step to far right now. Let's see what he can dish out in the Stars main body first & could be considered in 2014 when Belle Vue becomes the World Cup track & Worrall's home track too.
  13. If I was Midlo I'd be busting a gut to get Nicholls to change his mind. He's coming back into some sort of form right at the right time. 1, Chris Harris 2, Tai Woffinden 3, Craig Cook 4, Scott Nicholls / Lewis Bridger That would be my 4. If Nicholls isn't going to ride, I'd put my neck on the line and pick Lewis Bridger. There is something about him I like as a rider. His average doesn't show as a World beater but I think he's ready. He's the total opposite to Kennett, King & Barker who totally crack under pressure. This season, in Bridger I've seen a rider who cracks against the lesser riders but picks it up against the big boys. Also spent serious money on engines going with genuine engine tuners. I want him to be given a go & made it be known to him that this is his last chance to crack it. I'd even say the same to Harris to be honest Kennett & King have had plenty / to many chances. If Bridger fails this year, then it's time to feed in the next set of youngsters. I'd set up test matches for the below 7 GB riders against a Danish - Australia - Swedish - Polish teams in 2014:- Craig Cook - Richie Worrall - Lewis Bridger - Ben Barker (Needs attitude transplant though) - Josh Auty - Richard Lawson - Ashley Birks Behind them as injury cover I'd have:- Kyle Howarth - Ashley Morris - Lewis Kerr Then come 2015 we'll see the emergence of a genuine talent to equal Woffinden in Robert Lambert (17 then) and the like of:- Lewis Rose - Lewis Blackbird - Stefan Nielsen (If he'd pick GB, I'm not sure) - Steve Worrall - Tom Perry - Adam Ellis - Joe Jacobs __________________________________________________________________________________ I honestly believe we'll see a change in cycle from 2016 and TeamGB will have an emergence of talent and become competitive in Europe again. I genuinely believe that. BUT, there is one major factor that needs challenging. The BSPA & the associated promoters. We have real, and I mean REAL World class potential talent ready to go but they need help. Hence why I believe International challenge matches are the way forward, Home & Away but the BSPA has to be the main backer.
  14. bydgoszcz this, bydgoszcz that. After tonight I can see Why BSI have dropped it from the calendar.
  15. I can't believe some are not enjoying this meeting. Absolutely awesome so far. OK, the leader may be miles out front but the battles for the lower placings are out of the top draw.
  16. Tai has travelled and is expected to participate in today's practice. Will decided after practice if fit or not.
  17. I read on Twitterland that Buxton are looking for £6000 so they can purchase a 2nd hand air fence???? not £18000?
  18. Elite League v Premier League Just think about this for a moment before it gets rubbished. If you could pick the top 4 tracks in the EL how many have been on Sky in 2013? King's Lynn Peterborough Wolverhampton Birmingham If you could pick the top 4 tracks from the Premier League how many of those have been on in 2013? Sheffield Somerset Berwick Scunthorpe I believe Sky are picking these meetings purposely to put the BSPA & it's possible new Elite League contact in it's place to force the value down showing that lower league speedway actually has more value than the "Supposed" "Better" Elite League Opinions peeps!!!!!!
  19. Top class meeting. Much better than anything served up by the Elite League on Sky so far. I can't be some are still moaning by saying the track was slick. Was it bull arks. The riders were suggesting it was slick but only slicker than normal standards. Compare it to trash like Lakeside, Poole, Coventry, Belle Vue, Somerset looked super grippy & I think that's the statement people are trying to make.
  20. Good news for the Young Stars as Robert Lambert has agreed to fulfil as many NL fixtures as possible for the remainder of the season.
  21. Good luck to all tonight & hope it's a good evening's speedway for all involved & spectating. Will be watching the updates
