Could A Barry Hearn Type Be Good For Speedway?
Daniel Smith replied to msc1874's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yep, but the BSPA members won't allow it. It's as simple as that -
Kings Lynn Young Stars Vs Coventry Storm 8th May 7.30pm
Daniel Smith replied to rhidassa's topic in National League Speedway
Well, I will chuck my perspective on NL racing. Last season missed only 3 meetings & took in this meeting on Wednesday & I'm retiring from National League spectating. I keep trying to enjoy it but I just can't. I just find the racing scary, apart from the top 2 / 3 riders in the teams the rest just wobble around IMO. The crashes / falls are too regular & after watching PL / EL racing I think most supporters of those clubs would be of the same opinion unless the NL team is of a stand alone status. No more for me. -
Speedway fans can be depressing & moan at nothing. The best meeting on Sky this year so far by a country mile & really enjoyed the banter between Nige, Alun & Tai. At times it was funny. Some folk really are such a bore moaning about Pearson for no reason what so ever. Well done Sky, both teams & Scunny speedway for providing a real speedway venue.

I'm shocked, saddened and very disappointed to read that a Redcar fan had shouted to Worrall "I hope your dead." I hope this person is found / pointed out and banned from speedway stadiums up and down the country. This also happening on the Birthday of Lee Richardson This is just unacceptable behaviour. Somebody on here will know who this idiot is.

Speedway On Eurosport
Daniel Smith replied to michaelcroucher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Eurosport's coverage is mile better than Sky's. Much better pictures & the commentary is so much better. Eurosport have even made the racing better. Eurosport are extremely talented people, in fact, the person running the show there must be Jesus Christ Our Lord ALL HAIL EUROSPORT -
People expecting controversial content will be very badly mistaken. This will I'm sure be a very speedway positive & BSPA friendly magazine. If I'm not mistaken, the person running this magazine runs the Speedway365 site, runs the KLStars site & sponsors riders & design their sites too.

Tai Woffinden
Daniel Smith replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I just hope the lad picks up some more sponsorship off the back of this great start, looking a little bare on his race suit. Money must be tight for him to compete financially -

Darcy Showing What A Pro He Is Again
Daniel Smith replied to speedibee's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To us here in the UK, yes it's a non story but it's completely different kettle of fish in Poland. One of there biggest sports and these guys get recognised when out and about everywhere they go. They are celebrities & seen like pro footballers over here, when getting wasted, fighting etc is seriously frowned upon & all over the papers. There's a time and a place and Poland isn't one of those places for them to be 'letting go' so to speak -

Things would move along much quicker with the simple but effective GP style 2mins system. Call the 2mins & all rider's have to be ready to race or excluded when the clock hits 0. That alone would make meetings run so much smoothly I have no doubt.

Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think existing surroundings with other established sporting events have a dispensation. I understand all new builds must adhere to the RFL regulations -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
RFL pitch regulations would make the Belle Vue track HUGE Their regulations are (at full dimensions) 100m(116m) x 68m(74m) That would make around a 420m speedway track, WOW -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium

There's still a major hurdle here to get through remember. The BSPA need to get their fingers out of their poop holes and secure the future of live televised British Speedway or this could become a devastating venture and speedway as a whole crumbles COME ON BSPA - SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!! -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
4412 adult entrants @ £17 over the whole season covers the costs. Around 240 weekly paying adults. It's a bargain -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
£4.5m to be paid back over the next 60 years / £75,000 per season sounds an awful lot but it is an absolute bargain. 4412 entrance fees will cover that expense over a whole season so not a great deal to worry about. Also, I'm guessing, if the rugby are also playing at the stadium would they be required to pay rent too Belle Vue speedway?? Some do know my opinions on this and I'm absolutely gutted my team King's Lynn will now lose out on major events but Good luck to Belle Vue. If all the numbers are correct it's an absolute steel. -
Speedway Outpricing Itself?
Daniel Smith replied to mike1944's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To make a living riders can't afford to do that. The problem is, every promoters excuse is riders wages. To be quite frank, that is absolute garbage and lazy promoting to make comments like that. The sport can improve & become cheaper but it has to be done by the BSPA. The first job is to get rid of GoSpeed. Employ somebody to go out there and market British Speedway as a whole, not individual teams. Get out there & ask, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again & ask again. Somebody will sponsor speedway. The Redbull Elite League The EasyJet Premier League Energy drinks & Aviation is the main route I'd start with. 1000's of flights taken per season by riders, these guys could easily create good business for these airlines. The point is the BSPA overall are responsible for saving speedway and not individual clubs & riders cutting there wages. Get a major sponsorship and people will come. It's how things work these days. Today people are sucked in & follow brands even if the product is garbage. Just blind the public with razzle dazzle and they'll want a bit of it. -
It may have something to do with Shane Waldron crashing out the other day in the Stoke individual??? Not heard anything on how he is yet??? Only Lewis Kerr, Tom Young & Shane Hazelden are down as confirmed signings on the Stars website Jake Knight, Darren Mallett, Shane Waldron, and Lewis Rose missing from the 2013 riders list on the website which I'm convinced they were all on there a couple of weeks ago???

Isn't all team motorsport the same??? In F1 injured drivers can be replaced by another teams reserve or test driver. In bike & some other 4 wheel track racing it's been known for injured factory riders / drivers to have the same championship independants to come in. Squad systems keep getting mentioned in British speedway but it would create more expense to promotors as less meeting for riders would mean retaining fees would have to be paid. That just isn't affordable
