That's why I only said a couple. It is just 2-3. The rest of the supporters from all clubs have been very generous and gracious towards us. As for your 2nd point, it shouldn't be unlikely. This really is a meeting that can swing either way. Can't call it, if Rosco called up and offered the draw I'd take it. Let's hope the weather holds up and a good crowd filters through the Abbey. Good luck

Oh hang on a minute buh, I am by far, MUCH better looking so that's a plus surely (although you shouldn't maybe agree with that ) There are a couple of Swindon fans that seem to have an issue with our club for some unknown reason. Every club at the start of the season agreed to the terms of the reserve rider's so I think they should 'get over it' and concentrate on their own teams failings. We've had to suffer many many years of failing, we've have one cracking start to the season and they're constantly battering us on every thread. Give us a break, we've done nothing wrong ffs. Arrogance and poor efforts of humour I think you've mistaken all that for possibly over excitement. This is all new to us, there certainly isn't any arrogance. We're fully aware on how quickly things change and we're just enjoying what we're seeing

Belle Vue V Birmingham El Mon 30/06/14
Daniel Smith replied to hyderd's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolutely but at least the rider's will still get a pay day hence why I think they've chosen to continue with the meeting. -
Failed a fitness test but unlike most foreign riders he actually was at the Eastbourne meeting and proved his case to the meeting officials.

Danish Gp 28/6
Daniel Smith replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Love the GP system. Very rarely is there a heat that's a dead rubber. Every GP the points accumulate to who is eventually World Champion. In a single GP the first 5 heats are qualifiers to make the semi's. It gives rider's that ain't gonna be World Champion to claim an individual meeting title. Individual titles also give rider's the chance of getting pick of they finish outside the top 8 and fail the GP Challenge. Excluding Harris, there's something in the GP series for 15 other riders and that can only be a good thing. -
Let's be honest. It's an absolute shame (possibly sham) if Birmingham fold but the crowds have been horrendous. Unsustainable probably for even the Premier League but Phillips hasn't helped himself. The team put out this season is dreadful, most knew it was dreadful from the word go. It would probably not be at top club at PL level either let alone in the EL. He clearly pee'd off people at the club the previous season hence the number of quitters from within. Danny King clearly didn't want to be there either but he didn't really get a decent offer elsewhere in the EL so stuck with (probably down to Revolution Speedway sponsorship). The strong Brummies fans did say at the start of the season they'd see this coming but hoped it wouldn't. The GRA are probably asking ridiculous number's but Phillips was aware of these numbers but got himself in debt to the track owners and not pay rider's etc. So where has the gate / sponsorship monies gone? Has he's supped it up to cover his losses? Has he made any losses at all and just been bankrolling everything? Brummies fans need answer's and very swiftly. I'd imagine Tony Mole isn't taking the Brummies on again because Phillips want money for the licence plus any debt to be carried by the club. That's just not reasonable.

Belle Vue National Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Right, this has become very confusing. Is it FIM standard or Elite League standard??? If it isn't the former then it can't hold FIM events and shouldn't be names the National Stadium. Straight answers required, WTF is going on?!?!? -
If they're not willing then go knocking on Sheffield's, Peterborough's and Somerset's door and bring a couple of cracking tracks into the EL. My biggest bugbear isn't the standard of rider's but for the top British League is the number of crap prepared tracks and crap tracks to watch Speedway in general. This has contributed more IMO than having lost world class rider's. There are 10 teams in this league yet, Lakeside, Leicester, Eastbourne, Poole, Belle Vue are absolutely terrible. Swindon, Coventry needs minor changes (although the latter has improved apparently in recent weeks) Wolves, King's Lynn and Birmingham are the best prepared to give racing a chance. Bringing back the top rider's doesn't increase the standard of racing. To bring people back, they couldn't give a sh!yte what names are on the score sheets. They wouldn't know who they are, even the World Champion. If track standards increase, the racing standards increase, the more people wax lyrical about the standard of racing (hence more value for money) the more people want to check it out. It is very very simple.

Apparently, young Robert Lambert has become the youngest rider to score a maximum for King's Lynn in the top league beating Michael Lee's record. Could he be the youngest in the top league altogether???

Kings Lynn Stars V Eastbourne Eagles Thurs 26/6
Daniel Smith replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Robert needs to get his gating more consistent like tonight to be considered. Sensational tonight, made mugs of Pedersen, Michelsen, Woodward. From the gate and from the back. Since he's come back from the disappointing score in the U-21's in Germany he seems to have upped his game. Like I said though, he now has to make it consistent and Alun Rossiter has to think hard about it. One things for sure, we can't keep looking back at 'has never beens' like King. The certs are Woffy, Harris and Cook As for the meeting tonight. Eastbourne's riders should be embarrassed, and their promotion / management should be embarrassed. Established rider's were getting turned over by National League rider's. That for me is unacceptable. But in the same token our TEAM has to be highly praised. Absolutely and utterly brilliant -

An Open Letter To David Hemsley
Daniel Smith replied to mrcts's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the 1st thing that should be tried before the Leicester track shape changes to drastically is increase the banking on the turns and add an extra half inch of shale. -
I was gonna say I don't like dogs but did get married 7 years ago Watched the programme twice now. Was there a down side to the Life Of Tai??? Absolutely not and what came across to me is he's a very proud Brit. But the real hero in this is his mum. A proper caring parent that has back her boy at the toughest possible moment.

All I will add before going through that thread is all the fears have been laid to bed. Rider's and engine tuners have it nailed after a few years. No crashes or mechanical issues are related to the silencers at all. What we don't know is, are rider's still attacking these with drills? The reason I ask is that Eddie Kennett's form has picked up again
-
I actually don't think that's the case. In the past Poole have strengthened by having a ringer on a 4 average who increases their average to their potential then they upgraded to a rider on a similar average who can increase it again. The Draft System has actually killed that dead as you can no longer have a foreign ringer reserve banging in 7 rides every meeting.

Jack Burnicle Out David Rowe In
Daniel Smith replied to oldtimer's topic in International World of Speedway
To be fair to Jack, he would call the rider's, helmet colours etc correct then get shot down by the expert Sudden Sam and his bloody CandySoft garbage only to realise he was right in the first place after reading the information that appeared on the televised screen. He just lost his train of thought as he had no idea what Sam was talking about. I've been around Speedway for years and he confuses me, let alone someone that doesn't have a scooby -
That is a question on the end of everyone's tongue but I think we're all to scared to ask it. He was an integral part to push us up into the Elite League guiding the fears of his father who'd already worked about the jump. Did an excellent promotional job but just seemed to rub people up the wrong way. Has a great business brain but engaged mouth before brain on many occasions

Big clubs are structured around history and in the grand scheme of things we are one of the smallest clubs in speedway, never ever winning a top league title. We have progressed over many many many years of hard work from the Chapman's. So yes, we are a small club compared to Poole, Wolverhampton, Peterborough, Swindon etc. Through the 70's 80's & 90's a substantial amount of our time was swimming around the foot of the table. To become a big club we need those trophies in the cabinet, right now we don't. WE ARE A SMALL CLUB WITH A BIG HEART, and his name is BUSTER CHAPMAN
-
I am in absolute dream land with this team right now and I can not cope with it Surely but surely no team up and down the land can begrudge us this what's happening. We are tearing the big clubs apart and the Elite League needed it. It's nowhere near over and the playoffs are a completely different ball game. Can the youngsters cope with the pressure? That is to be seen. But right now IT'S FREAKING PARTY TIME - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Thought same, Iversen just gave up at the back so not quite the same
