Nki Is Entitled To Air His Opinions Too
Daniel Smith replied to The Pedaler's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Absolutely, great read. The piece I highlighted I believe is relevant to talk about. It's not just the Iversen's and Ward's I'm concerned about but the likes of the Cook's, Harris's, Schlein's etc. These might be the guys looking for more dough for less points. 2015 AGM could be busy -
Nki Is Entitled To Air His Opinions Too
Daniel Smith replied to The Pedaler's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Here's NKI's latest edition to 'Inside Track' http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/kings-lynn-stars/inside_track_2014_world_number_three_niels_kristian_iversen_s_weekly_look_inside_the_norfolk_arena_1_3573125 The piece from this that caught my attention when talking about the new race format. Just from this, I can see it collapsing after the 1st year. Iversen says:- "All I know, for me, is that riding against better riders every week isn’t a bad thing. But you do have days when you don’t have such a good meeting. And these days when that happens you’re really going to feel it. I felt it last week against Belle Vue. It didn’t really happen for me and it’s probably the first meeting since I’ve ridden for Lynn (fourth season) that I haven’t won a race at home in a match.Last season I’d have picked something up and when you’re paid-per-point, you want to be getting as many points as you can. Had we been aware of the race format when we were signing contracts, heat leaders would have probably taken that into consideration." I can only see a further driving up of Heatleader wages which counteract the cost savings of draft riders for 2015 just from that. Opinions??? -
Which is the best track you have been to? King's Lynn / Peterborough Which is the worst track you have been to? Lakeside Which has the best food you have tasted? Mildenhall (their fish n chips knocked spots off anything Rye House ever dished up) Which has the worst food you have tasted? Rye House ( Some reason their fans loved them. They need to get out more) In terms of facility's ie toilets, seating, access which is the best place you have visited and worst? Best was Sheffield but not sure now mind, not been for a while. Worst - Rye House

Scunthorpe V Cradley (national League) 13th April 2014
Daniel Smith replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
I think joke is a bit harsh but I have no intention of watching them at all this year, just nothing to look forward to in terms of development. With the Young Stars being our 'reserve' team it should be about finding riders for the future just like what Scunny are doing with the help from Matt Ford / Poole. I'm concerned that we've allowed Ford to move one step ahead yet again. I should imagine that Scunny have set up the way that have down to Ford's investment as he'll be looking for future rider. Stags - Scorps - Pirates. Always one step ahead of the game and this is what King's Lynn / Buster should be doing. National League = look to the future - not the past -
Urgent Postponement Stoke V Buxton 13/04/14
Daniel Smith replied to Swift Saint's topic in National League Speedway
That's well harsh. Stoke needs new investors, nobody wants to see any club lost -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Regardless of other projects within the stadium the report states the full £5.25m has to be paid back within 24yrs. That is a staggering £18,229 per month, £4,207 per week. Wow Trying to be a realist here and to just say "don't worry about the numbers" is outrageous. People are calling us jealous but I think what you'll find is there's more concern and realistic fear about losing another team over a dream stadium. We have to know how the Belle Vue management will make this sustainable. The Belle Vue business model still isn't clear from the management as they're still in discussions as stated here "The National Speedway Stadium build costs have increased by £0.75m to £5.25m and will be funded from prudential borrowing and the Council’s investment will be repaid by Belle Vue Aces in line with the rental lease agreement. The Council are working with Belle Vue Aces on the development of their business plan to mitigate any risk of default on full recovery of loan". Sorry but this seems obsurd and nowhere near even getting off the ground as yet -

Holy sh!yte you're right. I based my numbers on the original statement of leasing over 60yrs. When did 24yrs first appear? That's outrageous number's Fact, Belle Vue will go seriously bust in super quick time if they run with this venture -
Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Struggling to see much positives in that. Belle Vue have to find an extra £1.3m on top of there existing £4.5m to be claimed back in rent over 60 seasons. £97,000 per year in rent alone. 5,000 paying customer to cover the rent per year. By the time this gets started these costs will keep increasing as land and building costs are on the rise once again. This needs to be rubber stamped very quickly, at the latest by the end of this season or this will just be a complete waste of time and money for all involved. -

Still believe? The way this is going it will cost Aces fans £40 a meeting -
Definitely agree with a comment made earlier that Morris, Rossiter & Lyon need to get with Lambert and his party & go over it. The BSPA (& to a point, rightly so) won't give a flying fook to Lambert's opinion. The league structures and costs are the top priorities of the BSPA. Those leading the line for GB have a responsibility to bringing youngsters in line & being available at all times to sort these issues. Also, giving Lambert Woffinden's phone No' & vice versa could be a huge factor.

Was Smolinski's performance that much of a surprise? Not for me after his Best Pairs riding. Showed then he's gonna mix it -

That was horrid. Hope Darcy is OK -

Harris, Oh dear -
Maybe the comments are taken out of context, maybe they're not. Either way they are not great reading. Does come across big headed. Just like Micheal Lee, the BSPA could make life very awkward for him and it doesn't sound like the German authorities want him kicking around their National squad either. At such a young age The talking should be done on track on a regular basis not from the mouth. If he knock in double figures week in week out then he can have his say. Good luck to the kid and all top rider's need that edge of arrogance, it's how you demonstrate it that's important. He got this slightly wrong, all part of the learning curve.

Speedway Best Pairs
Daniel Smith replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
So, the average is a more accurate picture to the viewing numbers. The Best Pairs over ran on it's schedule so half the viewing numbers could have been people tuning in for the next programme for example. -

FFS people, reality check time. It doesn't seem to matter who the commentators are for our sport you lot can't help yourselves but moan about it. Considering Jack Burnicle isn't a speedway man and thrown into the deep end by Eurosport he did a bloody good job. Best Pairs, SEC, SGP, SWC, British Elite League, Swedish Elitserien are all on UK screens this season. Couldn't give 2 sh!ytes who the commentators are, we have speedway on the box. This is what we've wanted for many of years yet you're still not happy. Jeez -
Janusz Kolodziej Mateusz Borowicz Crash

If that is it, that is truly amazing news Phil. Borowicz was out cold as Kolo had nowhere to go but hit him -
Speedway Livestream 6 Days A Week
Daniel Smith replied to SpeedwayTShirts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Don't be frightened by whats happening here, embrace it. This could only have an up sell to your business as more people get to see the events. This could also mean more DVD sales not less. Bare in mind that also, betting sites are adult only and I should imagine most DVD sales would be for younger eyes to view. If you fear for your DVD sales then I would be concerned that you don't believe in your production qualities enough. Pretty much free advertising, give it a big cuddle. -

In your opinion I just Googled 'F1 drivers with tattoos' in images. Come back to me once you've had a look -
How Would You Improve Presentation?
Daniel Smith replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Agreed, teenage kicks has no place on the terraces with modern teenager's. That song hasn't aged well in my opinion, if there's a different more modernised version maybe but not the original -

Tai came across very well on Game Changers this morning. Seeing as it's based around kids none of them seemed put off by his physical appearance. He seemed to enjoy himself and isn't frightened to make an idiot of himself either. He really is the best thing Britain has had in the sport for decades and I've turned into a major fan of his.
