meeting off
-
I'm in the minority I know but I like the guest facility. I don't overly care who the riders are in my team. A fixed 1-7 or a 1-7 of guests I'm not bothered. I'm a King's Lynn Stars fan and the badge come 1st. The riders, they come and go but the club remains. I just wish others would look at speedway in the same way, it's about the team, the club, home-town pride. COME ON THE STARS
-
Thanks for the links Question though, are both heats 14 & 15 nominated races? If so, how come each team nominates the riders in the heats then occasionally overlays a rider with another rider. It seems like a tactical switch in a nominated heat. Just doesn't make sense to me? It is something I've only just noticed in Polish speedway

Certainly looks that way. Constant showers all day with the occasional thundery downpour

Elite League 2015
Daniel Smith replied to Aaron Reuben Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One thing we now know is the BSPA will need to make the play-off's start early September as Australia have the GP final round signed and sealed on 24th October 2015 -
I'm sure it won't because of who posted it
-
So good, this season he's scored 9 points 2 meeting's for Coventry at Poole. His last guest appearance for us was a joke so we'll have to wait and see
-
I think just recently Garrity has been a bit of a liability. Constantly over riding and throwing points away for fun. Sargent is Coventry's best reserve currently.
-
Terrific for Coventry Harris & Garrity guesting for Lynn. They clearly want us in the final + if they get Poole, Garrity gets track time round Wimborne
-
Let's hope the track is being repaired today seeing as they're having a reasonable day weather wise and the track covers are on there way down south. If none of those are under way questions need to be asked asap.

Questions That Need An Answer
Daniel Smith replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Correct, if the 2nd leg doesn't run the 1st leg result stands. -
I get why you'd say that but that holds fear for me. Just like the Adrian Miedziński saga between Swindon - Poole a couple of years ago, he may go elsewhere and wack 3 points on his average. That wouldn't be so attractive to have him back and we've lost the benefits of a rider on a low but guaranteed to improve average. To much of a risk to allow leave IMO. Certs to stay next season Kerr R Lambert Porsing Rose also if the Draft System continues Bags of improvement avaliable after full season's under their belts. I think we should stick by these guys and then, if the improvement isn't there come June 15 bang in the changes.

Sky ain't showing, confirmed last night their next meeting will be Monday's final 1st leg.
-
Shame for us Stars fans the rescheduled fixture won't be on Sky. Hopefully Bet365 will do something. Certainly can see Poole strengthening up for Thursday. Milik returning & possibly Batchelor at No'1 now will rule us out. The fixture tonight was our only chance I feel.

Guest Riders: The Ruination Of Speedway !
Daniel Smith replied to RockingRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To attract more people the rules are irrelevant, the product has to be good to watch. Right now it isn't great to watch for the majority. The best way to get an exciting product is to have a league of equal ability. The only way we could do that is have an Elite League where no rider has an average less than 6. It's not financially possible. British Speedway is between a rock and a hard place. It needs stripping right back and starting again. And do you know what, a number of EL promoter's have wanted and tried to but the biggest stumbling block has actually been the Premier League promoter's not approving change. -
Guest Riders: The Ruination Of Speedway !
Daniel Smith replied to RockingRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm fully against squad systems in speedway. It's a system that would be more farcical than guests. Rider's will refuse to ride due to other commitments and I have no doubt that the richer clubs will suck up the better rider's with no intention of ever using them etc. Then throw in the affordability factor for the lesser teams. I believe there would be more clubs go bust than survive through squad systems. I would have an identical system to that of the current draft system. Start from scratch and combine every rider's average that rode in the Polish, Swedish, Danish and British Elite League's for 2014. Build teams to 40 for top 6 rider's and a draft rider at No'7 Any rider not in a teams top 1-6 can guest but only 4 times for 1 club in 1 season. That would allow clubs to find genuine cover for injured rider's. Also, it could temp rider's to the British leagues in the following seasons full time etc. The British League needs to really think outside the box, really stretch the imagination. We need to move our league forward. -

Sometimes it's best to say nothing and right now is one of those times
-
The top 3 in the averages can ride at 1, 3 or 5. The highest average rider don't not have to be at No'1
-
It's all irrelevant to me. I can't see this meeting going ahead Monday anyway with the weather. Milik & Janowski will be back for the rescheduled meeting. Would still be Poole's to lose even if those 2 are missing & it does go ahead on Monday. Gives us a better chance yes but we'll have to work extremely hard to turn this tie over
-
Depends what happens in Poland tomorrow. If their final gets rained off they may decide to go Wednesday / Thursday. We'll have to work around them with Pawlicki / Bjerre involved

That's perception for you. Stars won 7 of 15 races so that pretty much 50/50 so Poole couldn't of been up for it either? Whoever it was that hitithe front was very much untroubled. With Bjerre's injury it was always gonna be if he didn't hit the front from the tapes he wasn't gonna mix it. I would have taken 9 points from Bjerre at the start of the meeting. Throughout the whole meeting the only thing that made the difference was Newman, other than that both teams had very even scoring -
