  1. I think overall there's more for than against with the meeting point scoring system. But the only negative to it is the fact home teams can have tactical rides. To gain the full positives of the scoring system the T/R's have to be scrapped for home teams IMO
  2. I agree with you, I can live without the "best riders" in the world but there are many that have said they'll continue to walk away if these riders continue to leave or more top riders don't come back. The product is getting weaker and crowds are getting smaller In the Elite League year on year. It can't be a coincidence
  3. Poland is an extreme. We can't and never will compare with them. If you look for a comparison, Sweden is the better option. Less fixtures & all the top riders and arguably better crowds. How do they do it? For the British Elite League though, if we went home and away once I have no doubt we'll be looking at a minimum of £20 adult admission Riders will want a similar yearly salary even with less running costs, it would be very naive to think the current top riders we have now would except what would be a pay cut.
  4. The presentation side disappeared when Jonathan Chapman went missing. That's not Buster's bag and Jonathan was absolutely brilliant at that side of the job. Theme night's, kids day's etc. He was the instigator in the new sound system & electronic scoreboard. He's was also the instigator for British Speedway's super7's series. He had drive to bring speedway to the 21st century then the BSPA sacked him off and he's not been seen since.
  5. Have to remember that we've been flicking between Wednesday and Thursday this season and there's been no noticeable difference from one or the other. I probably prefer the Thursday's though
  6. One of the biggest differences today from years gone by is the shale content. If the track isn't clay based then it becomes harder to keep the shale down low anyway. Once the initial track prep has been shifted out wide and down to the base even after a track grade you get 1-2 races and is gone again from the inside. Even raking the content back to the inside is actually a pointless exercise. Most tracks are using a more marble (rounded) type material that has a much less clay content. The old type shale used to be more flat and splint material which helped with grip during contact between tyre and base. The only (none starting) solution would be to re-lay the track and pack it on the inside half way through a meeting. Also, compared to years gone by the amount of material used has disappeared. To me, this is more down to cost rather than down to laydown motors. I'm not having deep tracks couldn't be used with today's engines or silencers. Rider's would have to learn throttle control on the big tracks as well as the smaller tracks rather than keeping it twisted South for all 4 laps. There would be more racing lines also Bring Back The Deep Track
  7. There's no such thing as an independent panel within the BSPA. Self interest rules. Gradings is a no go, simple as
  8. What make you justify that reasoning though? In the British Elite League Harris is better than Woffinden as is Nicholls. With the current set of averages Woffinden being a former World Champion has no bearing. Harris also is a GP rider. What we can't do is set gradings on opinion. It has to be facts and riders facts are their current averages.
  9. Grading would be more lopsided than reassessment of the riders averages. Gradings have scope as mentioned above, A. 12.00-8.01 (2 per team) or (1 or per team) B. 8.00-6.01 (1) (2) C. 6.00-4.01 (2) (1) D. 4.00-3.01 (1) (2) E. 3.00- (1) (1) Either way the teams would want to set up what would happen is the teams with the biggest finances would build the team to the highest end of the riders graded average. Team on a budget would build on the lowest riders graded average. Effectively we could see a team built to an average of potentially 51 while the budget team would come to 33.06 Gradings for me is a bigger no no than squad systems At least with the current average system teams try to get close to the set team average required and the richer clubs have restrictions. With gradings the Elite League will be horrendous.
  10. Not at all, she enjoys the job and is looking to continue.
  11. We have to remember as in the past, If there is determination to put houses on the site we all know what will happen to Brandon don't we!?! Just hope they're not that desperate to make their millions.
  12. Would turning Brandon into a historical site hinder it's chances for future modernisation or would any future improvements have to be done within it's existing shell?
  13. I turned it off after 6 heats, just couldn't get into it
  14. So now our minds fully switch over to 2015 and already I'm looking forward to it. Obviously we have no idea on the rules but the general consensus is maybe just 1 FTR in 2015. At a rough guess I should imagine 39 may be the team building average 1. Niels Kristian Iversen 8.77 2. Robert Lambert 5.32 3. Kenneth Bjerre 7.48 4. Nicklas Porsing 6.10 5. Tai Woffinden 7.12 6. Lewis Kerr 4.15 (Converted PL Ave) 7. Lewis Rose FTR Ave 38.94
  15. Can't agree with that. Winning the title would have meant everything to me and I believe if we'd of got past Poole we'd have done it. As long as rider's give everything to the cause I couldn't care less who's riding. I'd be happy with 7 guests winning our club (most important) our first ever league title.
  16. I think some of the plaudits should go to Buster Chapman actually. Listening to SkySports News and Radio Norfolk it was his influence on how to handle the track once it started raining saved the meeting. He knew if the Poole track team touched the track during the requested 10 minute break when it started raining they'd fook it up. He was the one that told the referee, make them leave the track alone and crack on with the meeting. But, on Radio Norfolk Rosco said prior to the rain the Wimborne track was in the best condition it has ever been in for as long as he could remember. Barely a rut or bump and as smooth as a baby's backside. So what did the track team do different to normal and can they keep it up in future?? Starman should have the answers to that
  17. Good luck to both Coventry and Poole in the Play-Off Final. Lets hope for 2 great meetings. Certainly not favouring any team as I'm just to exhausted from the dreams of the Stars lifting the title.
  18. Absolute credit to all 14 rider's tonight. Absolutely terrific effort. Congratulations to the Pirates and good luck in the final
  19. Covers would still work well if the tracks wet and had good drainage and good banking. Any rising water would still eventually run down with any further rain unable to continue saturating the track. It's very basic science. The problem is, Poole has neither of the 1st points so covers would be a waste of time completely. The issue is the sabotage of the first attempt of the 2nd leg.
  20. Good luck with the selling as there will be no willing buyers. I'd have him on loan at King's Lynn though, very attractive average at the moment.
  21. Without any stupidness what would be the right outcome if the meeting can't be run to determine the finalist to face Coventry in your opinion??
  22. If this gets decided off track I'd like to see King's Lynn withdraw from the Elite League with immediate effect. Even if we got thumped 75-15 then at least it was done while racing. I would be absolutely livid if Poole got the nod, especially when it was them that fooked up the running of the 2nd leg in the first place. This has to be done on track, end of
  23. Think it's time Poland lost a round. With the SEC, Polish fans are turning their backs on the GP's as seen with the earlier rounds. Torun & another would be enough.
