After a while you realise you can't polish a turd so you make £30,000+ out of it. At Poole he's turned into diarrhoea but they continue to try a buff it up but it keep flying off in all directions.
-
We probably wasn't his first choice and he probably wasn't ours with our own assets but Ashley would and hopefully will be more than & warmly welcomed to the Stars family. Once he's had a season round the Adrian Flux Arena he won't want to leave. There's no better place for future development in the UK. Big fast track, perfectly prepared week in week out. Nothing else is required to be a winner.

Riders Gardening At The Tapes
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The rules have been changed now though. The riders equipment now has to include a compact tractor with a grader no wider than 4ft. This has to be completed within 5 mins including the race itself. -
Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
Daniel Smith replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'd say Kozza does meet the standards with a 7.15 PL average -
I thought there was a rule brought in not long ago that stated all club assets are free to speak to other teams if not signed up by 1st January or have I made that up???

I for one am pleased to see Bridger back. I'm even more pleased he's gone to a big track and moved away from trick tracks. Over the last few years he's had various different personal issues to deal with. After last season I have a new found belief in him. Now he has a real 2nd chance and now is the time to take it with both hands.
-
If it comes to the crunch though he'll just sign up to a dual nationality passport. Surely wouldn't be difficult for him to do.
-
Correct, hence why he was allowed to race Conference League Speedway with the Boston Barracudas.

I'm not having these thought of "it's in the best interests of British Speedway" at all. It would certainly be of no interest for us, King's Lynn to have to amend our team. That statement is purely for "the best interests of Poole Speedway" and it's business and I get that. At the end of the day the promoter's fooked up flouting immigration laws, your mess, fix it. Completely unfair and unjust to force other teams to change.

Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
Daniel Smith replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What does this VISA issue mean in terms of the SGP's??? With Holder, Batchelor and Doyle possibly having no UK residency would that mean them excluded from the series or will they have to apply for European VISA's and live in Poland / Sweden etc?? If the latter, couldn't they then still compete in the British leagues without residency??? Surely as part of the EU that VISA would take president over a UK VISA would it not?? Just thinking about potential loopholes -
http://www.poolepirates.co/news/0122_visastatement.html loving the Poole statement refusing to run with guests because of the visa issues. Here we go again, Poole have to have a full team in best interests of speedway but the opposition can have rider's missing and Poole want the meeting on in the beat interest of Poole speedway

Riders Gardening At The Tapes
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
it is the referee's / Start Marshall's lack of discipline that causes the delays. We at King's Lynn use an electronic 2mins countdown clock on our scoreboard but time after time (home or away rider) the clock gets switched off with 10secs remaining with rider's clearly going over the time allowance yet allowed to continue. Without discipline rider's will take ever inch given. The responsibility 100% is with the officials -

Riders Gardening At The Tapes
Daniel Smith replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
it does help though as it should create a better flow to a meeting but I think they've gone the wrong way about it. with regards to gardening, they just needed GP rules in that riders have to be under starters orders when the 2mins is up & with the false start & returning to the pits. That should still be the choice of the riders but the referee has the responsibility to bang on the 2mins immediately. -
Likes And Dislikes
Daniel Smith replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I like the current GP format. Love the crescendo of semi finals and final as it keeps meetings going right to the end instead of dead rubbers. If the highest point scorer wins the meeting it could mean the last 5-6 heats mean nothing to the other riders if there isn't the semi final / final. If there is, you'll get the 15 point max man in the final knowing he's won so rides round at the back pulling wheelies. What great entertainment that would be The current system keeps meetings alive from start to finish. Regarding the qualifiers, I don't think there should be any at all. The authorities should cherry pick the World's best top 15 with only the meeting Wildcard available for the 16th rider. Having the Harris's, Smolinski's etc do nothing for the GP's. If there is to be a qualification process the only automatic qualifier should be the World Champion. After that, rider's should have their averages combined from the Polish, Swedish & British league's and pick the top 14 from that and 1 meeting wildcard each round. -
With you there. It's a bit anorak (another thing speedway needs to eradicate) that race format is seen so important. It's all about people knocking up their own race-cards which has no importance to the sport of speedway what so ever. 14 rider's 4 laps 15 heats What else do we need to know

This isn't a thread restricted to just NL. This is a problem in speedway as a whole. There wouldn't be a problem if the start marshals and referees done there jobs properly. It's the start marshals job to get the riders within the right distance of the tapes. Far to many start marshals pussy out of an argument with riders + almost all favour the home team and this is where most of the problems arise. If the rider's were set at the correct distance at the tapes creeping of an significance they'd touch the tapes. It's then the referees job to spot riders rolling back and if they do, put on the red lights and warn the rider's in question. It really isn't a difficult problem to correct it the officials do their jobs properly.

I'm astonished at the make up of this team so far. To me, this is a team full of Midlo's drinking buddies. The professional Poles no longer fit in. If Darcy does return he'll have some great rider's to keep him on the straight and narrow won't he

Fantastic news to read. Not very often is a stadium bought and upgraded for speedway fans to enjoy. Good luck Glasgow Tigers for the future

Best Gater And Best Racer?
Daniel Smith replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Gater: Greg Hancock There's nobody in the World of Speedway better Racer: Darcy Ward So spectacular. Great to watch when he's behind other riders. Goes for gaps that shouldn't exist and every attempt he makes its fair. Doesn't need to ride people to the fence or make ridiculous left turns down straights etc. But, he's and absolute bellend and sulks when he doesn't get his own way and will be living in Benefit Street very some if he doesn't knuckle down -
If that is the case then we should go with Stokes if it's an option. 9 times out of 10, the lowest ranked reserve only gets 3 rides anyway
-
I too would go with Stokes but we'll have huge issues if he was to get injured as he'd be so far down the 2nd tier list it's very very risky.
-
Normally Matt Ford is switched on with signing rider's where their averages are likely to go up or at least be around the same. With North, his average is only going South. Shocking signing

World Champion 2015
Daniel Smith replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think Nicki Pedersen in 2015. Has his mad moments but is always there or thereabouts come the end. He's going to turn it on in the SGP 2015. He's now No'2 Dane and he bloody hates it. Out to make a statement, I just have a feeling -
I've just got BT Broadband and I've got BT Sport on the TV and on-line included
