  1. Maybe Ward isn't much liked as a person but you just can't help admire Ward the rider. To be out the game and come back at a point when his opposition are up at the peak of fitness is pretty good I will be the first to applaud
  2. One meeting and they lost. Darcy being excluded in heat 13 while on a 5-1 was costly in getting a point if anyone wants to knit pick. So your asking Swindon fans to thank Darcy for losing them the meeting?
  3. Unfortunately, and I do mean that, it's what comes with employing Ward. You gonna have to start taking grief on the chin. 1. Swindon win, cheats, you fiddled the averages to fit Ward in 2. Swindon lose, good, you fiddled the averages to fit Ward in Swindon fans, put ya blinkers on and roll with it or your threads will be just overtaken by nonsense
  4. I know these engines are only in prototype stage and are being tested but as they've been used a few times now is it time to start picking holes. For me it is and the most obvious point to pick out coincides with Bomber's statement. He had said that one of the reasons for not using the engine is it wasn't set to his riding style. 1. I was under the impression these will be 'Off The Shelf' engines? 2. Isn't that called tuning, something I thought the engine was designed to get away from?
  5. Think to many people get fixated by the lack of passing for the lead. Thing is, speedway's always been like that. There was bags full of passing in the minor placings, some of it brilliant. All motor sports are pretty much the same, the guy out front clears off in the distance. Very enjoyable GP imo
  6. Think Darcy should come to King's Lynn. Best for all 3 parties. We'll be happy for him to score 6-7 points a meeting replacing Bjerre. He'll happily lower his average, Poole would be happy to take him back in 2016. Win win win At Swindon they need him to be a double figure rider week in week out but that I can't see happening.
  7. Really, Leicester & Swindon won't increase their attendance after cheap tickets. Lakeside did a meeting on Sky for a £5 a few seasons back didn't they? Worked well didn't it?!? King's Lynn's attendances barely get affected by Sky meetings so why should we reduce the cost exactly? What is the point apart from clubs losing money?
  8. Really, take it Swindon & Leicester will be absolutely rammed when the pricing goes back up?
  9. I can see nothing but average reduction exercise from Ward. Poole 2016 Janowski Holder Ward Milik Kurtz Big mistake by Swindon if Zengi is the rider to go Hopefully the Stars will move exceptionally quick and take Zengi in place of Bjerre
  10. Full price, the crowd wasn't as bad as it looked on TV. 8000+ capacity stadium and looks pretty sparse every week. Our promotion wouldn't have made as much £££'s has the admission been reduced.
  11. Can't argue with most of that. The worst thing for me is the lack of atmosphere but the riders are contributing to it. In the Premier League days the rider's would whip the crowd up fully acknowledging the paying punters. Apart from one good pass each from Milik and Porsing the entertainment was left to a 17 year old to deliver it yet again. I was hoping the meeting wouldn't be about our weaknesses but they were majorly exposed tonight. Our aim should be to deliver a league title, it's time the management showed that drive rather than allowing the season to just plod along The 1st statement of intent would be a change for Bjerre. As for Poole, deserved to win IMO. Every one of their riders look hungry to deliver the goods for the team. Definitely title favourites regardless as to whether Coventry top the table by 100 points. If a fully fit Holder was on show, I think it would have been us running the Black & White table cloth. Last week against Lakeside gave us better racing IMO
  12. Injuries?!? Get any now and there's f'all to being in.
  13. Hopefully after tonight we won't be discussing team changes but a bright future going forward. Tonight is the night I'd love a 60-30 in the Stars favour with good racing. Sunshine Speedway, there's nothing better
  14. The thing for Buster is he's never had any need to reduce admission in the past as the fans seem to turn up regardless, whether on TV or not. That's a good thing, pretty much the same down Dorset too is it not?
  15. Press release shows admission as £17. Buster will never reduce admission under any circumstances.
  16. Know what you mean but I'm not sure at what point interviews should take place though?!? There's never a quiet time at the Adrian Flux Arena, especially on the 1st turn
  17. Maybe harsh but he annoyed the hell out of me week in week out. You're right that Bennett was a tough act to follow but Kevin did initially take over, doing a good. Not sure why he wasn't kept on then rather than this other chap
  18. Not sure about Kevin being permanent but I do know the other chap has been fired
  19. Proof was in the pudding last night that the racing lines are still there. It also proved that maybe some rider in the team don't want it enough (Kenneth Bjerre). Another Milik / Lambert type rider would make us title contenders imo Also disappointing Bjerre didn't feel the need to ride round on a parade at the end. Next week is the real challenge and will give a better idea as to where we're at going forward.
  20. When you have a track safe enough to race on the fence panels will be just fine thanks, not like Poole #BigDipper 👍
  21. Putting 2+2 together, is Darcy Ward returning to King's Lynn?? Sky scheduling a Stars meeting against Poole on July 1st. Can't see it but you never know. Sky may have inside information
  22. They've had all day to prepare the perfect track for the cameras, this has been a shocker.
  23. Mid season review from me is: Even though we sit in a playoff position I've found it painful sometimes watching the Stars on the Saddlebow terraces. The running and the meetings themselves in the main have been dreadfully boring drawn out affairs. Been supporting the club for over 20 years and in terms of enjoyment, this has been the worst season ever for me. The only shining light that's keeping me interested is Robert Lambert. The only home rider to provide any on track entertainment
  24. In hindsight Aces v Bees would have been better but this match should have been equally competitive. If Sky had been in Manchester I'm sure that would have been just as sh!te. Just the way it rolls sometimes
