  1. Just had a thought. Signing Jakobsen may have been the club thinking ahead. Huckenbeck being moved to No'8 acts as a safe guard for the hope that Iversen stays on. If he does, Batchelor comes in for Jakobsen meaning Huckenbeck doesn't then go elsewhere and we lose an asset. Also, if Batchelor comes back and finds he's not ready at least Huckenbeck is still available and ready to go. Could be a little mini masterstroke
  2. I think you're failing to realise it's not Belle Vue's fault. First they have no say or knowledge of track conditions until race day & getting 5-6000 fans in a stadium for the meeting to get cancelled. Wasn't Belle Vue's fault ya know. Now it seems other clubs are calling meetings off before they themselves know. Not Belle Vue's fault ya know. Bloody contractors
  3. SCB, rule states 17.4.1.1: A declared #8 can be used as a replacement at any time for a #1 to #5 Team Member. No mention of EDR only. It's any if the 1 to 5 I should imagine if the No'8's average goes above any of the 1-5 then that average will count towards the teams total but will remain no'8
  4. So then Jakobsen should be riding Thursday and not Huckenbeck. Scrap that 17.4.1.1: A declared #8 can be used as a replacement at any time for a #1 to #5 Team Member
  5. With our first EL meeting on Thursday and Huckenbeck in the side and no Peterborough fixture clash that suggests to me Jakobsen is no'8
  6. I was referring to our DU rider Robert Lambert How I understand it too
  7. Jakobsen must be number 8. There's no need for a D/U partner for Lambert as our fixtures take priority over his PL club so would be a pointless move.
  8. I don't think the BSPA need to know the "in's & out's" of what the contractors have our haven't done. Their investigation will be about the Belle Vue promotions du diligence. The Belle Vue promotion hold the responsible of opening the turnstiles to the public in the knowledge that everything is fit & proper. It's widely reported that everything wasn't in order with the track but still made the choice to open the turnstiles and get rider's and punter's in. All Belle Vue's responsibility. To the BSPA that's all that matters, & rightly so. The contractors are totally irrelevant.
  9. The stadium holds 10,000. So it was a sell out as they already knew they'd be holding the opening meeting twice
  10. 4 bends is the correct terminology of oval racing. It references the exit and entrance of the straights
  11. BT actually called me yesterday and offered a revised infinity deal as the current deal hadn't been connected yet £9 infinity 1 unlimited + free weekend calls £3 HD Sports Pack £17.99 line rental 12 month contract, the guy on the end of the phone didn't just get his hand snapped off. I smashed every limb he has and said thanks.
  12. I know you'd gone tonight GB but I have a question. You're right, the meeting should have been pulled days, if not weeks ago. Let that sink in So, the promoter's allow the gates to open fully aware the tracks not in a condition to race. Tonight the riders rock up for the first ever time without a scooby on ever knowing how the track is, discover it's unsafe and rightly refuse to ride. It's it fair to put the pressure on the rider's to give it a go because there's 6000? But it's ok to call it off on a regular night because there's only 600. If it's unsafe and all riders agree, that really pushes the blame back on the promoter's. Very unfair to lay blame on the rider's.
  13. http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1642 That statement is very clear, the gates should never have opened tonight and Belle Vue Speedway fooked up
  14. See the Aces fans are out defending the indefensible. Open ya eyes ffs
  15. What utter nonsense. The only disgrace is Belle Vue Speedway for allowing 6000 fans to travel to the opening night knowing the tracks dogrubbishe and could possibly not be safe enough to race. The buck does not fall at the feet of the riders
  16. Unfortunately that's not the way the promoter's view it. They firmly believe the sports survival in Britain is all about them. That was clear after the BSPA supporters meeting when they kept mentioning that they hoped the fans took something away with them. The whole point of a fans forum is that it should be the other way round & the promoter's do the listening
  17. Can't see how anyone can predict King's Lynn to finish top 4? Iversen leaves around April time and other teams already talking of strengthening up in May. King's Lynn will be swimming around the bottom with Leicester come the end of the season.
  18. I think what us Stars fans should be celebrating after last night is the fact Barker didn't end up being our final rider
  19. Can't agree at all 28 heats in 3 hours is actually pretty good going on past Ben Fund history and as for being cold, it's the middle of March!!! Without the crashes & exclusions & the odd 2 on the trot heats, the referee was banging on the 2 mins straight after each race. I thought the meeting flowed nicely.
  20. Absolutely enjoyed that tonight, some decent amount of money raised for a great cause and good racing. Fingers crossed for Steady & KK, hoping the fund isn't required for them already. Super proud for Rory Schlein though, nobody would have complained had he been a bit tentative with what he's been through. Laid some mental demons to rest tonight. Congratulations to Cook, simply head and shoulders above all all night He's all good
