  1. Was he getting stick prior to the interview from the Swindon faithful for his performance? Quite likely and his response was reasonable if you ask me. He was like that when he was at King's Lynn in the Premier League. He got stick from the fans then, he'd always respond when chatting with Mike Bennett. Think it gives him much more respect to have the balls to front up imo.
  2. Don't think gangs should cause issue as U16's should be accompanied by an adult. Any issues then that adult becomes suspended. 17 and over turning up in gangs, bring it on. They've paid something Speedway wouldn't of got + it only takes 1 or 2 to start watching from a gang of 5 or 6 and things calm down naturally. Me personally, to make Speedway "sick" to the yoovz letting them loose is exactly the right thing to do. Putting a noose on them is what shouldn't be done.
  3. So, I take it you have no concept that everybody's different and we all should be as hard as nails like you?
  4. So, this year Woffy should have been straight to the final as he was representing GB in an actual GP. BSPA are funny in their reasonings
  5. To a point speedway hasn't modernised enough but who are we to modernise too? When you look around today's stadiums I have no doubt 75% are over the age of 50. Speedway has no priorities to families. Some tracks do family tickets but these are restrictive i.e. 2 adults 2 children. What about single parents? What about a family that has 4 children? What about just 1 child? For me the priority for Speedway is modernising but this has to be modernising the pricing structure first and foremost.
  6. That's where Speedway has failed massively It could be £30 per adult entrance, that's actually irrelevant. The problem starts with those adults having children & having to also pay for your kids to get in. The option then becomes "we need to find something else to do". Now, I don't believe speedway should be charging up to 16 years old & no more than about £7 for full time & work placement students (17+) Elite League: Adult £18 Concessions £12 Full time students (17+) £5 Work Placement Students (17+) £7 16 & Under £0 We need to start with the pricing structure of Speedway for the future
  7. I've been off work on the sick for over a month and over that time my opinion has changed. I've watch s#!+ loads of old clips on youtube & Pathé in that time & it all seems very much the same as it is today. So, when did speedway stop being as good as it use to be? It hasn't, I've got older and because of that the focus in life changes. Just a natural process. Crowds are smaller because people have found better things to do with their entrance fee's because they've simply become bored. Smaller crowds have made meetings more boring regardless of the racing. It's as simple as that
  8. That says more about the Swindon fans than Troy imo. I find it quite shameful that he's not allowed to have emotions. People cope in different ways to bad news & Ward wasn't just a team mate but a friend. Batchelor's honesty should have been appreciated rather than lambasted regarding his performance. Maybe the issue should have been taken up with the team manager for allowing Troy to ride in the first place if his mental state isn't on the racing. That's a dangerous situation to place other riders in in the first instance.
  9. Just my opinion. Forget his nationality, in the GP's he's an embarrassment. Lindgren has proven that the GTR's are a quality motor yet Harris last season made it look like a bag of nails. The guy just makes me wince every round. He's clearly ill prepared or being ripped off with his equipment.
  10. Thing is, I can't stand Jerusalem or Land of Hope and Glory either. Both old English with hints of Christianity. England isn't that way either anymore. For me, a completely new song which references our pride and passion to defend our land. Including the pride of all involved in WWI & WWII & our immense battle against terrorism. It has to completely exclude anything to do with religion.
  11. Great win from Woffinden What a cracking GP. Chris Harris, give it up as a bad job with a bit of dignity and allow Lindgren a spot when Hampel returns
  12. Clever from Belle Vue see. A lot of people forget to cash small cheques.
  13. Think the first priority is you get a track. Any extra on that is a plus, I'm sure that's all Rosco will worry about just now.
  14. Just a bit of weather advice, book your hotels up until the Monday and get that day booked off work. Any rain will move meetings back. It's in Manchester remember
  15. New figures released today. Anyone want a laugh??? Bjarne Pedersen as of the 16th May will be Poole's No'6 reserve
  16. It's not negative, I'd say more of an honest opinion. Your opinion must be similar as you've just said we're underdogs. That's not much different from me saying we'll lose Will I be there, depends on the verdict from the Hospital visit tomorrow
  17. Rob Godfrey said it was an oversight on his part as he had sole responsibility in organising the Semi Finals. Even still. Woffy has a GP on Saturday and a Polish fixture on the Sunday but no wildcard to the final. Also, Harris is riding the Friday & GP Saturday. None of it is making any sense to me at all. The wonders of the BSPA
  18. Is Danny King gonna get as much of a smashing as Woffy for missing the British Semi Finals? No thought not. It's awfully nice of Rob Godfrey to say that King is likely to be given a Wildcard straight to the Final though. Was this ever offered to Woffy? No course not BSPA are a funny bunch
  19. That's where you miss understand, the modern day fans are less committed i.e. winning is important. You, me & many others who've been around a while like to see good racing. For the newer fans to keep them interested teams have to be winning. That's modern life I'm afraid
  20. That 1st line is absolutely important and considering this is effectively opening night 1500-2000 people is extremely disappointing. Worse built stadiums have had better opening night figures than that. Over the next few weeks will tell if that's the opening night numbers and the rest of the season drops below that, that will surely become a concern to the promotion in making the stadium pay quite quickly?? What if Belle Vue continually lose at home? As you know, modern day Speedway fans ain't as committed as years gone by.
