  1. I did. Started buying it from my local shop daily through Speedway advertising i.e. Greg Hancock originally. Same before that with Redbull. Originally bought that because of F1. Actually, I'd say everything I've had is via advertising. Even women
  2. The BSPA could fill their boots. Looking at the regulations it seems that only riders & officials have to have a licence. IMO all pit crews should also be licensed to work in & around any pit area. This way would be an ideal in how to govern who pays and who doesn't in terms of hangers on. No end of WAGS rock up FOC too, if the riders require them to be with them then they'd have to apply for the pit crew licence. £50 would be a reasonable figure & the finances gain from this could be put into youth development. In terms of ex-riders, why don't clubs just post a season ticket off to these ex-riders they're happy to have in and around the club. And/or pay £150 per season for a BSPA season ticket which allows access to all UK tracks. Again, finances that can be pushed into youth development. Just ideas
  3. Those guys won't have the same standard of equipment as they do in the GP's and or Poland. Poland is a good indicator of where riders are, those guys are in the Polish top league while Harris has been binned off by a Polish 2nd division side
  4. PL Is my limit. Watched a season of NL racing and won't go back to it.
  5. Some national events are part of a rider receiving his national licence yearly. Denmark and Poland are the 2 that spring to mind. If they do not ride their licences could be revoked. Not sure if Sweden is the same? Australia and the UK doesn't make it mandatory. The Aussies have riders missing it regularly, the UK has had riders missing it occasionally through it's history. It's always been that way and only the ACU / BSPA can change that. Regarding the England shirt, another situation where Woffinden was in a no win position. His Tweet was spot on and proved accurate. Wasps are being chewed vigorously by some
  6. He did say "top names". Those highlighted imo certainly don't come under that bracket
  7. F1 are running more efficient and environmentally friendly than ever this season. Smaller engines 1.6ltr v6's and running ERS (Energy Recovery System). Not only is 160hp generated from the hybrid motor, today's cars also run a dyno system to recharge the battery when drivers decelerate. What does that mean? On the electric side of things F1 are still miles ahead of Formula E in advanced technology
  8. The system imo is nowhere near finished in serving it's purpose. Not unless we're happy having just Steve Worrall and Jason Garrity as progress for the next 10 years. EDR's should remain but the rider's in those positions should have a life span. No over 25's or 3 seasons as an EDR. Simply remove the 2 protected heats.
  9. Also what I haven't seen mentioned, I thought this forum was originally marketed with Chapman in attendance? Or have I imagined that? If it was, what happened there I wonder?
  10. Is it because of the loss of engine noise? A few playing cards and clothes pegs in the rear wheel would make it realistic the 21st century version if you like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDafMzo4HO8
  11. The bit I highlighted was interesting when Dave said that. Why wasn't the follow question "why let all the punters travel and enter the stadium if you knew it wasn't right" but no, they just moved on. It was a question that needed answering imo.
  12. £123 to obtain the relevant licences. ACU licence is required to obtain an SCB licence ACU Licence £38 SCB Licence £85 Game on I'd say
  13. Must investigate what's required to obtain this licence
  14. It doesn't remain the same because we didn't sign any of them. Iversen was last minute and the race night was irrelevant to that decision. For Niels is was about whether he's suffer from burn out again, nothing to do with Wednesday or Thursday. In the end we'd moved from Wednesday to Thursday in 2016 for no reason what so ever and lost Kerr in the process. It's proven so far to be a disaster decision. The only thing now that can rectify the problem is Lakeside sack Kerr and we get him back (but his average is to high anyway) or use Simon Lambert. 2016 now relies on that imo
  15. What's this you're talking about? Haven't heard this before
  16. But then goes on to say that the EDR system has run it's course. The EDR & 3 point Brit run hand in hand. Scrap it & the stronger sides will have foreigners at reserve again
  17. Regardless of what is being interpreted in the rule book, logic should have been 'no assessed riders unless already an EDR can ride at reserve'. The wording of the rulebook is terrible. 17.4.1.1 A declared #8, can be used as a replacement at any time for a #1 to #5 Team Member by the looks of how thing's are working, it should read: 17.4.1.1 A declared #8, can be used as a replacement at any time for a non EDR but must ride in the #1 to #5 team positions. _______________________________ as an aside hypothetical question say: Huckenbeck is a 4.00 assessed average Korneliussen drops to a 3.00 average The current 1-7 team is averaging 44.00 Is it right that Huckenbeck can then replace Korneliussen with a lower average?
  18. Well thought out, the thing that stands out to me is the commitment that's required for that to work from foreign riders. 38 league fixtures is a no go first off. It's difficult to get the none GP riders to commit to the current EL 28 fixtures. Adding an extra 10 league fixture + cup comps is madness Even in the 6 teams above a number of the riders would be elsewhere on better pay days. Teams running guests would likely be worse than today. Tuesday (Sweden) Wednesday (Denmark) Thursday (Sweden) Friday (Denmark / Poland) Saturday (SGP / SEC qualifiers) Sunday (Poland)
  19. It was a fair question. Members of a disciplinary panel shouldn't be existing promoters / owners of clubs as they can be accused on the basis of not being impartial
