That looks different. This is what Gerhard has done for the sport in a positive manor, forcing others to improve their products

King's Lynn V Belle Vue - 19 April 2017
Daniel Smith replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be fair to King's Lynn, they've tried what fans want regarding running meetings quicker with less grading etc and this is failing also, adding nothing to the entertainment.p I'm sure the riders would have loved the track Wednesday as they were all safe with not a single incident. -

I can't think of anything worse than small track speedway. The NSS has shown the way forward and the AFA has the room to be adapted in similar fashion. Regards to speed, slowing bikes down will make no difference as someone will always have a faster bike than the rest. Untouchable maximums have happened for years. -

I don't think the full story was told on that night. Although Buster lost his rag it was the threat of the referee reporting the incident to the SCB which would of seen Lynn's license suspended as they were on a last warning regards to H&S I'd been told Thing is week in week out Robert Lambert proves the track can be raced on, why can he find ground to pass and nobody else? I'm on the same side as Gordon Bennett now (who's said it for years now tbf ) the track shape has to be altered. Bringing the track in to about 310 meters, shortening the length of the straights and increase the banking would see a massive change regardless of the shale used. -
Sheffield V Peterborough 20/4/17 7.30 Sgbcl

Looks like Peterborough are suffering with a clueless manager. The obvious choices of Holder and Starke in heat 15 and Oystercard gets the nod -

King's Lynn as a whole from top (promotion) to bottom (fans) We're all scratching our heads thinking of possible answers, when delivered on it doesn't seem to work. -
King's Lynn Stars 2017

I feel for Buster a little because he'll be between a rock and a hard place now with regards the track. 2 home meetings done in good time with less track grading, what us fans were looking for plus an option of racing lines untampered with. Problem is and what we've end up with is that build up of dirt round the outside that adds nothing to the racing and the inside is a dust storm. So as fans, do we continue with the dust storm and swift meetings or a more regular track grade to bring dirt back down again? As bad as the racing has been over the last decade it was never as bad as the last (Belle Vue) meeting. -

The day after the night before - and I'm still fookin angry I expected defeat but the major of defeat was totally embarrassing. We just could not gate, heats being over in the first 20mtrs. The difference last night was Cook and Holder - chalk and cheese. -
Why is there such an issue with Freddie testing a GTR? Why all of a sudden are people speculating he's using an upgrade? In Freddie's defence he's more than likely testing his GP motors i.e. just running them in, getting a feel for them. Also, he's likely to have about 10+ engines for the season. Also, if someone says testing they automatically assume engine. He could be testing a different frame, ignition, clutch etc etc

King's Lynn Stars 2017

I can't believe I'm seeing people wanting Bailey out already. We've had 2 league matches ffs What's expected from the number 7 in the first place? He's come into the team on a 2 average and isn't a million miles off the pace. His gating is atrocious but that can improve with a bit of patience & time & race fitness. At the end of the day if we lose matches with a top 3 of Holder, Lambert & Batch & the back up of Porsing, Huck & Rose, why the fook should the finger pointing be aimed at an inexperienced No7?!?! -
Just because something was tried once and failed doesn't mean it'll fail again. Completely different eras so worth another punt
-
Using an existing meeting isn't a fair reflect. Under the current format it suits a rider / team to just gate and go as the worst is a drawn heat. With the pairs scoring system it's not just don't finish last. If you gate and your teammate is last it then becomes about the race leader slowing and controlling the heat to give his teammate a chance.
-
TWK is a fan of Belle Vue. What better chance to see some racing at the NSS without the fear of the black & white
-
It's extremely obvious to all when a rider has cleared off in the distance without a care of the other 3 riders behind them. I just think a 4-3-2-0 scoring system would emphasis skill over speed. A rider with the fastest equipment isn't then necessarily the best rider for the team.
-
Just another thought. What about the pairs point scoring system in league racing 4-3-2-0? Could this stop the guy out the gate first from flying off in the distance and force his hand in having to help his teammate who's struggling in 3rd-4th? Could the rider who wins the race be deducted a paid point for none attempt to help a teammate stuck in 4th? Just maybe little ideas like that will bring the emphasis back to what league racing is all about - 'being a team'.

Anyone interested in this? Should be a bit more of a challenge than Somerset last week. Harris & Nicholls generally do very well round the AFA and Kennett and Watt have had good scores in the past so could be dangerous. We certainly will need to be on it or the Rockets could easily take a point or more away from the Stars.
-
Belle Vue had poor teams on a poor track in a poor stadium. That's why people didn't turn up, the day of the week is irrelevant.

I disagree, how many Premiership rider's do the Elitserien? If any Brits do the Elitserien there's no extra cost to British clubs. Monday / Wednesday works best for the Premiership as Championship clubs run Thursday > Sunday. The clashes between our own leagues are more of an issue than European leagues
-
For 2018 there's no reason why the Premiership can't have fixed race nights on Monday / Wednesday Monday:- Belle Vue (own track) Leicester (own track) Swindon (only team that has questions over availablity) Wolverhampton (rented, Monday's only) Wednesday:- King's Lynn (own track) Poole (rented, Wednesday's only) Rye House (own track) Somerset (own track) Championship clubs don't run on those 2 nights so the rider availability won't be an issue.
