Also, for the 1st time SEC fixtures take priority over British Speedway.

British Speedway is everything but professional and clubs going back to bibs proves that point even further. British Speedway shouldn't be and is not taken seriously by anyone outside the sport. British Speedway is just the equivalent to WWE but just less funny -

Lakeside have a lot to answer for -
It's not just the Holder / Batchelor thing, but how fans were treated after. No, the past can't be changed but the club needs to work it's ass off to keep the fans coming in for the future.

Regardless of whether it's an off day/night is irrelevant. Bank Holiday fixtures are a special fixture in the Speedway calendar and all doubling up/down riders should prioritise Premiership fixtures over lower league.

Daniel Smith replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Peterborough will win the league when they finish up with a top team after the first set of averages Doyle Drabik Zmarzlik R.Lambert Woffinden J.Holder S.Lambert -
I notice sometimes at Lynn that you get given a preprinted ticket off the desk then another time the ticket comes from the ticket machine which I'm sure is all above board.

Peterborough Panthers 2018
Daniel Smith replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rubbish Phil Taylor (recently retired I know) is to good for BDO, County, Pub darts but can play all if he wishes. Wayne Rooney would be to good for None League, Amateur, Grassroots football but could play if he wishes. British Speedway have opened themselves up by allowing doubling up between 2 'Professional Leagues'. Doing so should allow all riders in the Premiership to race Championship Speedway. Even those with averages of over 12. If a Championship side was to offer Woffinden a contract the BSPA would find it difficult legally to block the move regardless of rules they try to put in place. -

I don't think people are grasping the significance of the Nicholls/Kennett case and the danger it faces. It's hypothetical but if Woffinden wished to ride Championship Speedway he would have to be allowed by law. It most certainly would be challenged also by the fact that he's been refused work over a rider requiring a work permit. -

Those restrictions are also illegal to working law. In all sports all sportsmen are allowed to compete at any level they so wish. In football everyone can play in any league they wish. Athletes can compete at club level. Darts players can still play pub leagues Cricketers are free to play village leagues Blah blah blah Yet with Speedway Woffinden can't compete in the Championship because he's a GP rider. A clear breach. Theoretically he may one day decide to drop Poland and wants to ride Championship Speedway and not Premiership because his best mate is at a particular team, or he wants to be closer to his new family. Who are the BSPA to tell him he can't earn money at that level. -

Just had a thought and it may have already been said. Has the precedent now been set that even Woffinden could ride in the Championship if he so wished. If he was refused it would be a clear breach and restraint of trade in his home country. -
Whilst that is true the BBC still have excellent viewing figures for 'Match Of The Day'. Speedway would benefit massively with a similar format on a free channel or online. I would bet anyone that an highlights package would get far more viewers than any live meeting on free to air channel than a paying Sports network.

Argentina, France or Italy it is then

Is it
-
The reason for showing only poor races is the clip provider fears showing the best races will hit their meeting DVD sales
-
Speedway would be far better on the TV as a highlights package. Stick on a "match of the week" with full 15 heats, all done in about 30mins then review the other match taken place that week. Just have the Play-Offs and Final live as these become the least affected feom live TV.

2018 Premiership Predictions
Daniel Smith replied to Gavan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Like my team King's Lynn you have a great No1. After that heat winners are hard to come by. Even worse than that is heat advantages. Both of our clubs have failed to put together teams that look competitive throughout. -

irrelevant to my enjoyment

Isn't what you're suggesting been the problem in Speedway? From 1 bad year to the next we're always told to move on, it will get better. So, while the crowds continue to dwindle, admissions go up and quality on offer deteriorate every Speedway fan should just suck it up? I still love Speedway, I still love the King's Lynn Stars even more but my breaking point has been reached by the mentioned above. No more am I willing to put ££'s into the club until I feel there's 'Value For Money' on offer. For me, there's no more 'time to move on'. The way the club is run has to be encouraging and so far this winter it's still been very poor from a fans point of view. No genuine heartfelt apologies for last season. No apology for the crass ripping off of season ticket holders. So no, I ain't just gonna move on. I feel justified in not doing so. It's up to the club to make me feel positive and so far regarding 2018 I feel they're still trying to rip off fans with a cheap poor team and increased admission costs to the many.

4 out of 7 at the training camp. Going well then

I'm sure if something positive happens that adds to my experience of being a Stars fan I more than some do shout loudly. This winter from the club they've added nothing that I should get excited about. I feel the team is poor, training announcements irrelevant, link up with UEA that'll have no bearing on the sport as a whole and my experience. For all that an extra £1 for the pleasure. So far the winter break has been as poor as the 2017 season itself

Yep, not interested
