2. That's where the BSPA and all clubs owners need to actually do some work in the local communities to counteract No's 3, 4 & 5 and stop threatening and blaming fans for clubs closing down. They have a responsibility to attract supporters, deliver a VFM product and work hard to maintain that support. The days of "use it or lose it" threats are long gone as it's so much easier to find other thing's to do.

I don't agree at all. Attendances have only reduced imo mainly due to the admission increases, only a small fraction due to rider standards. if admission was rolled back to £10 in the top league the attendances would rise, I have no doubt.

How I'm reading JC's comments is that no riders should be exluded from racing. I believe he's showing where British Speedway is and where it needs to be to survive. Rider's like Harris, Nicholls, Lambert etc, to gain a contract in British Speedway will need reduce their demands to that of a 6 pointer. Any refusal will see them out of work and for the benefit of British Speedway rightly so. As I'd mentioned on another thread I'm fed up with rider's saying they're having a tough time of it yet buy brand new equipment unnecessarily year in year out. For me, the pay rate should be the same for all rider's in the 1-5 and a third of that pay rate for reserves as they can get 7 rides. i.e. Premiership 1-5 = £100 Reserves = £35 Championship 1-5 = £50 Reserves = £15 The better riders will still earn the most money but for British Speedway to survive the day of rider demands have to be over.

There's a problem right there. Why do the average rider sell off the previous years equipment to buy brand new for the new season? If maintained properly frames, forks & rims can last years, same with engines. As far as I'm concerned, if a rider says they're struggling financially after wasting money on new year in year out, well feck em.

Tell me about it. At no point would Craig get any negatives from me, he clearly has some issues to get over but you'll still have the usual "just snap out of it" brigade chipping away on this thread Of course it's relevant to the thread, people are saying Craig's purposely skiving meetings. It was pointed out that nobody knows Craig's issues because not all medical reasons have to be physical.

Can't be that role as he'll have an attachment to the Stars so hardly an outsider - independent which is 'bad' for the sport in this country

It's not a joke at all. Rider's who doubled up in the 2nd division in 2016 started on those average in the top league due to the format change. This is why the riders that only rode the top division had their averages loaded to "level things up" and were eligible to also ride the 2nd tier. 2018 is back to actual averages.

Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
Daniel Smith replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be honest, I'm not at all surprised by some of the abuse. Fans have been showing their concern for the sport for many years, sometimes it takes a bit of effin' n' jeffin' to get people to start listening. It's either listen or watch the fans fade further and 100% the promoters are going with the latter. -
There in a nutshell is why I'm not returning to the AFA, what a deluded old man he's become

Peterborough Panthers 2018
Daniel Smith replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When you realise that the fines have come from the SCB you'll then see it has nothing to do with Buster Chapman -
Fed up with being taken advantage of. For me it's about enticing fans back and not expecting. 2018 is just TV / SGP Speedway for me
-
A nobody related to somebody famous. What can be delivered to the club and supporters, we'll just have to wait and see. My trust has to be won back to attend and not to be expected.

Correct

You must be a member of the BSPA. Some none thought out logic you have. Denmark ride Wednesday's and they also have the odd fixture Friday. As do the Pole's ride TV matches on a Friday evening. SGP, SGP Qualifiers, SEC, Pairs etc also run practice on a Friday. British Speedway's only option is a Monday and Thursday for fixed race nights.
-
That's modern day Speedway. Restricted to 1 team only or doubling up in British Speedway won't make one bit of difference. The mentality (I prefer virus) in Speedway today is money driven by the majority. No more do the younger riders coming through race for the buzz but for the cash. All these riders coming from Motorcross are only making this switch because it's easier to earn a living. At the same time, if we restrict to 1 team in the UK then the talented riders will quit as they can't make a living. Where do we go then? Close clubs down or use doubling up? Even now there isn't the rider numbers to run Championship or Premiership teams without doubling up.
-
If the SCBPL goes Monday - Thursday and all others any other night, what exactly is the problem with doubling up. To me there is no issue to be had. All everyone has said is they don't like it without giving any real reason. Just "I don't like it" isn't an argument if there's no clash of fixtures in 2018
-
Interesting but it doesn't mean a thing. What matters is if the club show a genuine interest in it's fans and a decent side is put together. For me, a guy with bags of cash isn't all that's required to keep fans happy.
-
Can't see how it would work as it would encourage riders to drive up wages as their demand would be greater
-
Keep the averages to 42 but use the riders AWAY figures rather than the combined. IMO the away averages show a better form guide rather than having teams full of 1 track ponies
