Absolutely nonsense. If tonight was a GP, GP qualifier (practice) etc I'd understand him being missing, or if it was Iversen it's understandable. No way should a British rider's priority be a Danish league fixture over a British Individual "official" fixture. 2 meetings running Robert Lambert as let the King's Lynn Stars down. -
I'm not sure Sheffield will receive anything from the meeting?!?. I'm sure the BSPA pay for the hire of the stadiums and all the admissions go straight to them.
-
We've had discussions about Robert Lambert and last minute flights for them to only get cancelled and miss the Leicester meeting. People are now encouraging Cook to make the same mistake it's absurd. Yes, people have done it in the past bit they were seasoned GP rider's. This is the first GP of the series and Craig's first (and probably only) time at being a GP rider. Being the first meeting Craig will need the extra time (as all the GP guys will) to make sure all their ducks are in a row. It's irrelevant that last minute flights are available, or my mates got a helicopter, or my dad's got the fastest taxi in the world argument. The point is this is probably Craig's only crack at the GP's, if you can't see the fault of the SCB/BSPA in seeding him into British Semi on the Thursday then you're clearly as stupid as the SCB/BSPA

Just don't react, we don't always agree but it's always been pretty civilised, all because we're fans and want the all round experience better for everyone. Like Trees, DizzyBlondeStar is also an insider. You and I both know that if they were to be found agreeing with any negative vibes Buster wouldn't allow them through the gates. Never get into a conversation with an insider.

Fixed race nights... early indications!!!

Absolute nonsense. The reason for smaller crowds in football today is pure and simply down to health and safety. The requirement is to have all seater stadiums. That's the reason, nothing else. -
A far far better rider though if Nielsen keeps out of trouble. Such promise but always gets injured. For me, a good change and can easily get a 4+ average.

Thursday night speedway at swindon

Exactly, I think a lot of people are delusional about the quality of the sport back in the day. Tend to only remember the good bits and believe that's how it was all the time. I've watched loads of old meetings on t'internet and it's very evident that the quality of the racing is very similar to today. There's old World Finals, Continental Finals etc with 60,000+ in attendance yet barely any good racing except for 3-4 heats. I would happily say that top level Speedway today (SGP & Poland) is as good, if not better than most of yesteryear. -

From most reports the signs have been encouraging. Shame our league went with Monday's & Wednesday. Had it of been Thursday's I'm sure Belle Vue would have gone with that and would of been less damaging. Having said that, Belle Vue is proof that a state of the art stadium still can't pull in punters to make it pay. There's far more wrong with the sport than just a clean and tidy seat. Promoting is evidently void for almost every club. It still amazes me that huge city clubs are pulling similar or smaller attendances than small town clubs though. Belle Vue, Wolverhampton etc should be double the likes of King's Lynn, Poole etc but these promotions are failing the club's. -

I'm aware of that, but originally it was to be rolling averages after the first greensheets. They now changed it to rolling averages including 2017. This is keeping Poole's team average almost 3 points higher than their actual averages for 2018. This has now stopped Poole bringing in Holder for Shanes. The Pirates management are now having to have a total rethinking, hence the short term signing of Nielsen. -

I seems the BSPA/SCB has clicked to the Poole average manipulation too. It's now rolling averages from 20 matches including the season 2017. This now stops the dropping of Shanes for Holder scenario Good to see the authorities on the ball for a change -

I think it's clear enough that you can have as many 8 pointers as you like as the rule states the 1 over 8 only applies for the initial team declaration -

Just for confirmation for Stevebrum 18.5 TEAM COMPOSITION 18.5.1 A SGB Premiership Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 and may include ONLY one rider with an MA of 8.00 or above. -
Regulation 18.14.3 and the Rule Book
Daniel Smith replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I believe IRR isn't allowed if RR is already in operation. If a team is using R/R and a rider gets injured, the injured rider's rides can only be taken by reserves or 3 rider only heats. -
King's Lynn v Swindon 02/05/2018

This is the King's Lynn Stars, the most jinx top flight team of all time. Winning the league is all but a pipe dream. Fate always gets in the way. -

Absolutely, currently Poole averages show they can replace Shanes with Holder and Holder's average is less than 8. But there is also a rule that is 'in the best interests of British Speedway'. I'm pretty sure if a team tried to re-declare with 9+9+9+6+4+3.5+2 the BSPA would throw it out -

Daniel Smith replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The 1 rider over 8 was for the initial team declaration only. After a team has reach their first greensheets (4h 4a) you can have as many riders over 8 as you wish within the 42.5 points limit or like for like replacement. -

Be madness to replace Schlein, even with Lindgren. Schlein is always consistent and very reliable. If Wolverhampton wants Lindgren back in it would have to be Thorsell that goes. Schlein adds so much more to the team than just being a rider scoring points. He puts his heart and soul into every club he represents. -

There won't be many teams go Wolverhampton and score 40+. Shame no point but encouraging all the same.
