  1. Does anybody have the results for the final rhanks phil
  2. Gillman and wayvill dont and couldnt hold enough spectators for a gp , wayville track is around 500 mtrs or more.A stadium of 30000 or more spectators is needed so that only leaves non speedway stadiums such as the olympic stadium (to Expensive) or edihad stadium in melbourne which is the best stadium in oz and has a roof and being in melbourne would pull a large crowd as melbournites will turn out in large numbers even for a marble game.
  3. dave can wehave some results please phil
  4. The title photos have been put up in photobucket. Click on the link below to view. Please let me know if anyone has trouble accessing the photos http://s781.photobucket.com/home/photosbyjm/allalbums

  6. Arthur Sissis has taken out the Australian 350cc Championship from Nick Morris, Robert Medson and Dylan Blain. Arthur made it through to the A main after winning the B final. Arthur jumped out of gate 4 and had a comanding lead but had to do it a second time after Robert Medson and Nick Morris came together in turn 1 which caused Robert Medson to crash heavily into the fence. Robert was a bit shaken but fit enough to take his place for the rerun. Again Arthur jumped out of the gate and lead from the start without any challenge from the other 3 competitors. Photos to come Phil
  7. 13 year old Brady Kurtz has won the Australian Under 16 Title held at Tamworth, NSW from Arthur Sissis, Tyler King and Cameron Heeps Sissis won the gate however went wide coming out of turn 2 allowing Kurtz to come through and ride a very tidy race denying Arthur any passing opportunities. Final placings (after 5 rounds) were Brady Kurtz 14 pts Arthur Sissis 14 pts Tyler King 11 pts Cameron Heeps 11 pts Nick Morris 9 pts Blake Russell 9 pts Jack Fallon 8 pts Matt Day 8 pts Max Fricke 7 pts Robert Medson 6 pts Robert Gottardi 6 pts Dylan Blain 5 pts Harley Bridgden 4 pts Brayden Munro 3 pts Cooper Riordan 3 pts Elis Perks 1 pt
  8. It will all depend on Arthur's schedule with Red Bull. Arthur is keen to ride in the YGT but we will have to wait and see. Judy and I are planning a trip mid 2010 which will more than likely take in the YGT so we can catch up with all the friends we made whilst we were over last year. Looking forward to that There are some photos on this photobucket site if you are interested. There are some junior meetings there including the 2009 SA title and the Classic meeting from Gillman. Just click on the link and then pick the album on the left that you want to look at. If you keep an eye on this I will post more photos during the year http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt53/speedway_album/ Hope to see you in 2010. Stay well. Crazy
  9. Arthur is returning to Red Bull next season but he is not totally lost to Speedway yet. I think he is going to ride in the UK again if he can get the necessary clearances etc.
  10. Arthur Sissis has taken out his 3rd SA State title winning the meeting on a maximum 12 points. 2nd place went to Robert Medson, 3rd was Luke Mitchell (son of Australian Sidecare Champion Mark) and 4th was Cooper Riordan from Mildura in Victoria. It was a hard fought title with Robert Medson only dropping 1 point to champion Arthur Sissis in the heats. After a restart in the final Arthur went away from the rest of the pack to take out a comfortable win. 2nd, 3rd and 4th was a close fought battle Arthur will now defend his Australian crown in Tamworth, NSW on 29th January 2010. Prior to this he is hoping to compete in the 350 class at Kurri Kurri, NSW on 23rd January 2010. Placings - 1. Arthur Sissis 2. Robert Medson 3. Luke Mitchell 4. Cooper Riordan (VIC) 5. Dakota Ballantyne 6. Max Fricke (VIC) 7. Jake Mitchell 8. Seth Hickey 9. Ryan Hatcliffe
  11. Thanks dave . We had a major comeback last sunday at gillman , Spider web came out of retirement for one race with the prince of port adelaide and had one win than retired again , i think he woulde like to go to france with ronny next month for the world sidecar cup but his bank manager has spoken.
  12. Arthur is currently in Europe with the red bull 125 rookie grand prix team. He was accepted into red bull last year to do this season. His next meeting is in the German GP. At present he is running 12th in the points. He placed 8th and 6th in the last 2 GP's. He has also been riding 500cc speedway bikes in England and winning second half meetings for juniors between GP meetings. His speedway times are similar to premier league riders. Depending on whether or not he returns to red bull next year and his schedule, he is hoping to return to Australia, defend his Australian title and then compete in the Youth Gold Trophy in 2010 Phil
  13. Arthur is not retiring. Arthur's talent has landed him a contract with the Red Bull Rookies KTM team and he will be travelling to Europe in March to ride the 125cc KTM bike for the season. He will still be riding speedway when he returns to Australia at the end of the season. Arthur will be defending his Australian U-16 title next week at Underra, Shepparton, Victoria Good luck Arthur
  14. Gillman Speedway last night hosted a round of the Ivan Mauger Golden Helmet Series. Although there were no international or 'big name' riders in the field the racing was very entertaining. Young British rider Kyle Newman rode very well and scored 7 points from 4 rides. Other riders worth mentioning were Todd Kurtz from NSW who rode brilliantly around the outside of the 2 Sedgmen brothers to take line honors in one of his heats. This was close to Todd's first ride in the 500 class having recently turned 16. Jake Anderson from Victoria had 3 wins from 3 starts but unfortunately fell in his 4th heat however made it to the final by winning the semi-final. Another youngster, Hugh Skidmore (NSW under 21 champion), showed great skill having 3 wins and a third from his 4 heat rides. The semi-final was contested by Jake Anderson, Ryan Sedgmen, Jason Stewart, Kyle Newman, Shelby Rutherford and Brock Gates. Jake Anderson went on to win and take his place in the final. Points after 4 heats were - Justin Sedgmen (11) Todd Kurtz (10) Hugh Skidmore (10) Jake Anderson (9) Kyle Newman (7) Ryan Sedgmen (6) Brock Gates (5) Shelby Rutherford (5) Jason Stewart (5) Sam Martin (3) Damien Koppe (2) Daniel Mutton (0) Final placings were Justin Sedgmen, Jake Anderson, Todd Kurtz and Hugh Skidmore Sidecars were also on the program with Mark Plaistead taking the honors followed by Darrin Treloar, Jack Spear and Mick Hedland (DNF)
