He didn't ride for Rochdale. Rochdale only operated for 2 years 1970 and 1971, and were effectively the Belle Vue Colts who moved to Rochdale. Maybe you're thinking of Taffy Owen who went with the Colts team to Rochdale for 1970. Tom Owen started his career with Barrow in 1972 I think.

Peter Morrish is still busy typing them up on his 1935 typewriter. Have you seen the state of the 2010 NL Green Sheets page on the BSPA website? Microsoft Excel hasn't reached the NL yet.

They may put it right tomorrow. Today they have put right "Tim Webster" in the Stoke line-up. Yesterday it said "Mark Webster" They have Nick Simmons correctly listed for IOW but against his name they have Mark Simmonds' average.

I presume that to mean that there ARE play-offs. The team that wins the play-off will be declared League Champions, but the team that finishes top of the league "will be handed some silverware" to mark their achievement in topping the league.

Peterborough ?

Of course the British deduction is 2.5% not 5%. Try 2.5% in your calculator

Buxton Dudley Hackney (Rye House/Lakeside combo) Isle of Wight King's Lynn Newport Scunthorpe Stoke Plus 2 new teams to be confirmed on Monday. One probably Belle Vue, the other possibly Peterborough, or Coventry or Sittingbourne or someone else.

It is taking place today.

Never mind, it might all get sorted tomorrow according to our man on the inside. On that subject, does anyone know where ColinCooke is? I'm hoping he can give me a lift to court tomorrow, since I don't know which court to go to because I can't find the case anywhere on tomorrow's court listings. ColinCooke assures us it will be in court tomorrow (well he did after he realised his original date was a Sunday). Where have you gone Cookie?

I think the answer is actually "yes". Heaven forbid that there could be two Nicky Mallets.

So Stoke's average crowd is 1,480 ? Surely at that level they would be running PL and making a very healthy profit?

I'd be really surprised to see Tony Mole taking Birmingham into the EL. He's not a man for throwing money down the drain needlessly. If they do move up I can only imagine that a) someone else is taking it over or b.) The BSPA in a desperate attempt to keep 9 teams in the EL are throwing a pile of money at them as a sweetener

Darcy Ward And Gollob Up For Fim Awards
John Leslie replied to MattK's topic in International World of Speedway
I think the second category is more appropriate -
According to Companies House Weymouth Speedway Ltd is a dormant company. (i.e. a non-trading company). So which company has actually been trading Weymouth Speedway these last few years?

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
John Leslie replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes, but you can't transfer one of the bones from one thumb into the other thumb just for the purpose of deliberately breaking it. (not after 31 August anyway). It's bad enough watching Shovvy's blood pressure going through the roof with Fat Maud's allegations of average fiddling. You don't want to be accused of bone fiddling too. -
Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
John Leslie replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shhhhh... You don't want Matt Ford finding out that there are actually only 2 bones in the thumb, so he can't have broken 3 of them. The fingers have 3 bones, but the thumb has no middle phalanx and only has 2 bones. -
NL Treated with Contempt
John Leslie replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
I'm talking maybe £2k or £3k out of the Sky £5M. that's not impractical...it's petty cash. Just realised Belle Vue held a successful NL meeting against the Americans on Monday, and Ipswich are doing the same tonight. So your argument doesn't hold water there either.
