  1. When a team is using the Rider Replacement facility they may name a number 8. The Number 8 can take any or all of the R/R rides. So a minimum of no rides, and a maximum of 4 rides.
  2. November 12 should be made a national holiday in celebration of British Speedway.
  3. Yes, but it's nice of the OP to come along and show that there's always someone more mental than us!
  4. At least we know that Darcy has learnt that "stop" means "stop"
  5. And why has Kelvin renamed the pits as the "paddock"? I've looked everywhere and can't see any horses.
  6. Why does NIgel Pearson change people's names? He always calls Kildemand "Killerman" and now he's suddenly changes Manzares' name to "Manzer-ez" It's totally confused Kelvin who was doing OK but has now decided to change to "Manz-aireez" I feel the meeting has gone downhill since the sacking of the traffic cone with a broom handle stuck in it. I'd have stuck a paper plate to the top of the broom handle and drawn a face on it. Would have looked much more professional. P.s. Does anyone know, is Greg Hancock really old? And is Covatti looking for a British league team place?
  7. Disgusting. The law is a ass. Thinks....If you're already a quarter of a million down, it wouldn't add much to the bill to hire a hitman.
  8. Why is the track so terrible? Part of Sundhu's plan to close Coventry?
  9. The quote is "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and the highest form of intelligence" It gets attributed to Oscar Wilde, but the true source of the quote is not certain.
  10. How pray, do you turn up and support the sport without supporting the clown and son who are killing it? Only way I can think of would be to climb the walls and get in free and then give your £17 directly to the riders.
  11. What if the people of Birmingham want Speedway, but don't want a fool and his son running ruining it?
  12. Was just going to suggest that since Birmingham is reasonably close to Coventry, Leicester and Wolves, that those tracks should consider admitting Birmingham season ticket holders for a nominal fee....Coventry very quick of the mark with a generous offer of free admission.
  13. Think you've summed it up correctly. Phillips family hugely to blame, but BSPA should have insisted on an experienced promoter overseeing things once the Drury's had bailed out, and generally kept a closer eye on things. Gutted for the Brummies' fans especially people like Brian Buck and all those who put their hand in their pockets to quickly establish a fighting fund. Hope we see you all back next season.
  14. Being a comedian like Eric Morecambe, Rosco has pretty much got the right 5 riders.... but not necessarily in the right order. Woffinden and Cook should have been automatic picks, and so should Harris who always seems to pull his tripe out for the SWC even when off form. I'd have gone with King as the fourth rider ahead of Barker, Stead, and the rest....reserve berth between Barker and Stead. Although Rosco has got Cook and Stead the wrong way round it won't make a lot of difference, as Cook, King, Stead, Barker, Bridger etc are all much of a muchness, and all are equally likely to either shine or go missing without any predictability. If I was in charge of the BSPA and the GB team. I'd have added Howarth, Lambert, Garrity and Blackbird to the 10 man squad and run a Team GB v Team GB training match at King's Lynn within the fortnight before the World Cup starts. Teams of Woffinden, Cook, Worrall, Bridger, Kerr, Lambert, Garrity against Harris, King, Stead, Barker, Lawson, Howarth, Blackbird would allow everyone to feel a part of the GB team and see who looks best on the King's Lynn track.
  15. If I remember rightly from what the presenter said, it wasn't the BSPA saying they had concerns over Phillips' health. The presenter said the BSPA declined to appear "because they had been told not to contact Phillips due to concerns over his health". So it sounded like someone in the Phillips camp (Phillips solicitors?) had told the BSPA not to speak to him, therefore the BSPA had no option but to decline.
  16. From what I read on here, most of the criticism of Leicester seems to come from the Leicester fans themselves. I usually enjoy my trips to Leicester. I find it a friendly place and a very nice stadium, but the track doesn't offer much in the way of racing lines, and I can imagine it could get boring to watch every week. If the track could be altered a bit (maybe the bends taken in) it'd be one of the best set-ups in the country.
  17. The Kent site says Cradley are without Clegg and Perry who are unavailable, but doesn't mention that they are also presumably without Matt Williamson It also says Kent are at full strength, but actually they're missing Freemantle.
  18. As in perfect timing that an American won the first one to be shown.
  19. If you checked the day you'd know July 14th is tomorrow......And you'd be correct, tomorrow is the day when Cardiff 2015 is being announced
  20. Rugby Union world cup in September and October puts paid to that. I'll have a guess at 27 June.
  21. I don't think we have any cinema's these days big enough to need ushers. Can't remember the last time I was shown to a cinema seat by an usher with a torch. As far as I know there are no staff in there just stood about watching a free film these days. A closer comparison to speedway volunteers are local theatres which are often run by trust funds and staffed in various areas by volunteers, with only the professional performers on the stage getting paid.
  22. So he's not just raceight staff is he? He's a part time or even full time employee. So it's a bit of a pointless statement to make in a discussion about the racenight staff getting paid for a couple of hours of watching free speedway...
