  1. That's what happens when you let a woman be the start marshall
  2. Couldn't agree more. The format for every Elite match is the same, so it only ever needs one racecard. And once you've downloaded it, just save it to your hard drive and you never need download it again. It's ridiculous to keep posting the same Elite League racecard every meeting over and over again, and got quite stupid when it was being spammed all over every match thread and even on to the betting threads. All that's needed is one EL racecard, one PL racecard, and one GP racecard. And your EL racecard is easily the best. It's...erm...truly innovative!
  3. Don't know if this is been done might be a bit of fun and I am bored, so the questions are Which is the best track you have been to? Hyde Road by a mile. Also standing right up against the metal fence at Exeter was an experience. Of current tracks Somerset and Workington are enjoyable. Which is the worst track you have been to? Plymouth is a horrible tiny thing. Stoke should be a good track but it terribly neglected and depressing. Which has the best food you have tasted? Ellesmere Port used to throw handfuls of toffees out from the parade truck. Once caught a pear drop it was nice. Only other food I've eaten at speedway is fish and chips at Mildenhall. Which has the worst food you have tasted? Nearly got hit by a flying Everton mint at Ellesmere Port once. In terms of facility's ie toilets, seating, access which is the best place you have visited and worst? Toilets in grandstand/bars at greyhound tracks like Wolves, Belle Vue, Birmingham, tend to be most acceptable. The gents behind the first bend at Sheffield are very spacious. At Cradley Heath you used to pee up against a wall in the open air. If you use the toilets in the pits at Stoke they give you a life-jacket as it's knee deep in pee. I've been in the famous back straight toilets at Swindon (both with and without a bulb). And Poole is scary because they have some transvestite fans so you never know who you'll meet in there.
  4. I bow to Gemini's superior knowledge of dogging in the Coventry toilets.
  5. In all my years of watching speedway I've never tried the toilet seating access at any track. Only ever used the stand up version.
  6. The basic Danish one doesn't have a column showing which riders are VAT registered and instantly calculating how much is due to HMRC I keep my standard replies in alphabetical order so I don't need an index
  7. I think someone should put all the riders pay details into a multi-coloured spreadsheet all underlined and emboldened... ..alternatively we could go to speedway to enjoy the racing rather than compare pay packets, just as when I go to a restaurant I go to enjoy the food rather than worry about how much more the Chef de Cuisine is earning compared to his sous-chef.
  8. Got no problem with the Polish lad. Anyone getting on a bike and giving it a go has my respect. Do have a problem with Redcar though...bringing another substandard foreigner into British speedway.
  9. Well they're not. And neither are the figures in the newspaper article. They're confusing the cost of the Belle Vue sports village with the cost of the stadium (which is only part of the village). Try downloading the council report. Costs have increased by £750k which is covered in the revised business plan. It's all systems go now.
  10. As I understand it, the new complex was being built with the speedway stadium occupying the end of the site closest to the Greyhound stadium (literally the other side of the pits wall). But because of the covenant on the land which the Greyhound stadium stands, the new stadium can't be built that close, so the stadium is being shunted a few yards further up the road towards the middle of the new site (i.e. a few yards further away from the dog track). You seem to misunderstand. You're just picking out figures and doing your own wrong, over simplified, calculations on them. Don't worry about the numbers, just understand that the council have approved extra funding (the majority of which is for the Sports Science Institute a few miles away) and things are now back on track. After the problems with the covenant it's all systems go again, and the new stadium is on its way.
  11. Good to see some positive news for a change With all the gloom and doom surrounding famous stadiums the likes of Coventry, Oxofrd and Wimbledon, it's good to see that Manchester's council are investing in speedway along with all their other sports. Hats off to them...maybe other local councils should take a trip up north.
  12. It's got to be Workington. Big fast track, decent racing usually. Covered seated grandstand, good viewing. A few burger vans and bars. Workington v Edinburgh should be a good match with Craig Cook in opposition. Stoke - once neat stadium which has suffered decades of neglect. Decent medium-sized track which has also suffered decades of neglect and never produces the standard of racing it should be capable of. Can park trackside and watch from car, or there's an Indoor seated bar area. Food actually quite ok by speedway standards. Local derby but Buxton will be weak opposition.
  13. Presume Niall was a spectator or mascot, since he would have been about 12 or 13 ten years ago
  14. Thought Nicki had that won when he hit the front, but he seemed too concerned with cutting Kasprzak's nose off to stuff him up rather than ride his own race and push on for the win.
  15. Ward just sat up against the fence waiting for the race to be stopped and then jumped up once it was....Batchelor attempted to get straight to his feet after a whack in the nuts which would have kept most of us down for a few hours
  16. I don't really like Batchelor, but credit to him for trying to get up and get off the track (unlike Ward) despite what was clearly a massive whack in the nuts.
  17. Same again.... Ward comes down on his own, no contact, acres of room on the outside. This time he gets excluded. How can the referee give two different decisions on identical incidents? Did he realise he got it so wrong first time?
  18. Shocking decision. Should have been Ward excluded. Think Crump is doing a good job commentating....except for his ridiculous bias towards Ward there.
  19. Surely today is the only day you can release an April fool's joke? Do you know the word "gullible" has been accidentally missed out of the latest Oxford English Dictionary?
  20. Think you're a bit confused as to what this meeting is. It's not a World event, nor a FIM event, nor an ACU recognised event. Complaining that we haven't sent any riders to compete in a Polish company's privately promoted event is a bit like complaining that the Poles haven't sent any riders to compete in the Tyne-Tweed trophy!
  21. This European Pairs thing makes you realise how good the GPs are. This bloke has got to be the worst commentator ever. (He's even worse than Ermolenko). His voice sounds like it belongs on Gardener's World.
  22. And on the subject of the topic, I've just stuck a fiver in a bet365 account to see what all the fuss is about. I'm ready to watch the next live stream match..and woe betide anyone who tells me it's been rained off when I'm trying to find the stream!
