  1. Yes.....And of course the equally stupid comment....
  2. Nonsense. Have you seen the size of the Formula 1 rules and regulations? The entire Speedway Regulations would fit within one chapter of F1's rulebook. (And no one fully understands the F1 rules either), but it doesn't stop millions of people watching F1 You don't need to know the full wording of every rule to enjoy watching any sport. Every supporter will be watching the same Michael Palm Toft racing next year regardless of whether they knew what his exact average was the previous December No need to scan it and post here. It will be available on the SCB website just as it is every year.
  3. Nobody expects the Spani....Jehovah's Witnesses....Oh, I'll come in again...
  4. It was a rule they made a few years ago trying to encourage upcoming PL riders to make the step up to the EL. The problem improving PL riders had was that they could go EL on a nice converted average, then if they had a good season and improved their EL average, they weren't such a bargain anymore for the next season. So the EL club didn't re-sign them, and being saddled with a higher EL average, this converted back to a very high PL average. This left them trapped. The EL didn't want them, and their new average was too high for a switch back to PL. So the BSPA made a rule that any PL rider moving up to EL, could always be allowed to drop back to PL the following year on their original average. Take Palm-Toft as an example. He was a 4.92 PL rider and so went to Belle Vue on 4.92 * 0.6 = 3.00 He pushed his EL average up to 5.20 (due to the easier race format). No EL team wants him on 5.20 and if this was converted back on the same scale, (5.2 / 0.6) no PL team would want him on 8.67, so he would be unemployable. Hence the rule he could drop back to PL after 1 year on the old average. Of course this year we seem to have a new 1.4 conversion factor (though we haven't been told) so this could make him 7.28 in PL which some might say is a more realistic figure, though some may not.
  5. I got a Jehovah's Witness advent calendar. It got to 1st December, I opened the first door...and there were two of them standing there.
  6. I've made ones out of shaving foam and mash potato, but I think I've been watching Close Encounters too often. To be honest, my cake scale model does suggest the bends may be a bit tight http://cdn.cakecentral.com/7/70/900x900px-LL-70c52c4f_bikecloseup.jpeg
  7. A buyback clause usually means that if Lakeside want to sell, then they have to offer to sell him to Workington at a pre-agreed price before selling to any other club. It would seem very odd to have a buyback clause where Workington could buy him back at any time against Lakeside's wishes. Not sure what has gone on, but seemingly neither club seem unhappy, so I don't see a great problem.
  8. This topic has attracted a few bampots over it's time, but you've got to admire this late bid for the chief bampot title.
  9. That yougov site is a load of cobblers Apparently Rugby League fans are Males, over 60 Cricket fans are males, over 60 Rugby Union fans are males, over 60 Snooker fans are males, over 60 Formula one fans are males, over 60 moto gp fans are males, over 60 Athletics fans (100m) are males, over 60 Athletics fans (200m) are females, over 60 I would hazard a guess that the people who fill in yougov surveys tend to be males over 60? (not sure what it is about that extra athletics 100m that attracts females)
  10. Surely the conversion has to be the same both ways? Otherwise you could get anyone's average down to zero just by swapping leagues a few times....
  11. Nope. Your calculation is incorrect. Have a look at Kenneth Hansen's move to Workington, The new conversion factor is 1.4 not 1.66666 Hansen's EL average of 5.50 becomes 5.50 * 1.4 = 7.70 On the same basis Kurtz's 7.54 PL average becomes 7.54 / 1.4 = 5.39 Under last year's conversion which you seem to be using Hansen's 5.50 would become 5.50 / 0.6 = 9.17
  12. Brady Kurtz PL average is 7.54 7.54 / 1.4 = 5.39
  13. This is a joke post surely? They could ride on the moon, but there'll still only be 90 points in the matches. Unless both teams are going to use their home track knowledge and score maximums as they battle to a pair of 75-75 draws!
  14. This is spot on. Doubling up not doubling down. It should be for promising upcoming youngsters to get a taste of EL without losing their PL rides. Not for ageing seasoned EL foreigners to get a second income. If the ageing seasoned EL foreigner thinks he's no longer EL standard, then just go PL. Not both.
  15. There's nothing wrong with the rules of the draft. It actually works quite well. The team who gets the best Group 1 rider (regardless of whether he was protected or picked) should get last choice of group 2. The team who gets the worst Group 1 rider (regardless of whether he was protected or picked) should get first choice of the 2nd pick. The problems only occur when the ranking of the group1 riders is wrong, and somehow one of the best riders gets ranked as one of the worst riders.
  16. If you protect the top ranked asset in Cat A, you go to the bottom of the pile for Cat B. If you protect the lowest ranked asset in Cat A, you get first pick in Cat B If you can convince the BSPA that your top Cat A asset is a low Cat A asset, you're Poole
  17. Brendan Johnson also agreed to be in the list and had emailed confirmation, but his name is missing too...
  18. No it isn't. PL runs to a completely different race format.
  19. Why would BV or Wolves swap? If Coventry don't protect Garrity, and Leicester can't pick him, then BV can just take Garrity without needing a deal with Coventry (And Coventry can't have Worrall because if BV don't take him, then Swindon do). Similarly with Wolves, If Leicester and BV both turn down Garrity, then Wolves just take him. No need to do a deal with Cov. Surely Coventry MUST protect Garrity or they'll be picking up the scraps.
  20. Tier 2 don't need to be be in any kind of order, It's only Tier 1 that need to be in order, (assuming that the ranking of tier 1 is what determines the picking order for round 2). Of course we don't know if Tier 1 are ranked in order. It could be that pick 1 goes from Leicester up to Poole, and pick 2 goes from Poole down to Leicester. We still haven't been told the rules of the draft.
  21. If he's protected he'll be at Coventry obviously. If he's not protected, Leicester go first but won't pick him due to his saturday clash with Rye House. Belle Vue go second and should pick him.....but Belle Vue will stupidly put loyalty to Worrall ahead of the obvious league winning pick of Garrity. So Wolves go 3rd and will take him.
  22. If that's the order then it's a very strange order. Newman only 6th best? What a joke! (wonder who's getting him?) Blackbird only 7th best? Worrall better than Auty?
  23. Group 1 riders are : L.Kerr, S.Worrall, J.Auty, J.Garrity, C.Wright, K.Newman, L.Blackbird, A.Birks, S.Boxall, A.Roynon. Group 2 P.Starke, A.Ellis, S.Nielsen, A.Morris, L.Rose, J.Jacobs, S.Lambert, J.Bates, D.Halsey, B,Morley, B.Compton, J.Sarjeant, M.Clegg, T.Perry, J.Cockle, B.Hopwood, D.Greenwood, N.Greaves
