Holder is blocked because Poole are one of the clubs caught out last year (Poole have said they are one of the clubs called in by UKVI) We can probably also assume Leicester were too, as they had problems with Doyle's permit last year. But BV haven't had any work permit riders in the last few years, so can't see how they were one of the teams caught out. And Fricke is more than eligible, qualifying under 2 criteria. So BV may well be one of the least affected.
-
Don't think BV have had any work permit riders in the last couple of years, so presumably they weren't one of the clubs who were visited for a spot check last year? Fricke was in top 4 of Aussie Final and is Aussie U21 Champ, so qualifies doubly for a work permit. So don't see them having too many problems once it's all ironed out. If worse comes to worse recall Richie Worrall and use him for Fricke.

I can't believe we've not had an update on the number of facebook friends Darcy has, or the number of people supporting his joke petition recently. I believe Kim Jong Un, Adolf Hitler and Oliver Reed are still the most popular of his petition supporters.

There's nothing to twist. (not in that perfectly clear bit of wording anyway - whether there's any other legal goings on regarding things that happened that weekend we can only but guess).
-
So if Darcy Ward weasels his way out of his drinking charge he might still not be able to get a work permit? And now that Matt Ford fears his poor paperwork might cost him some star riders he wants to re-jig and "equalise" things because it's not fair? I can see Alanis Morrisette getting a song out of this.

Nonsense. It isn't poorly worded at all. If it said "breath or blood" it would be poorly worded, because it wouldn't be clear if that meant the "exclusive or" or the "inclusive or". If both breath and blood tests were done, someone might try to argue that you can't do both, because it says "or" not both. (the exclusive or). So they have clarified (by use of 'and/or') that it means the "inclusive or". That is, it can be breath OR blood....but it can also be both. It's completely clear.
-
Wrong. Please quote where you got this from.
-
Try reading again. They need either (1) breath, (2) blood, or (3) both breath and blood. Yes, if it was one or the other it would say "breath or blood", but it's not one or the other. It's one or the other, or both. i.e. "breath and/or blood"

Don't mention the Ward. I mentioned him once, but I think I got away with it all right.
-
Don't mention the war! I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it all right.
-
You need to read again then. It says "Breath and/or blood".
-
Thought he'd already been found not guilty of that one!

1950-1952.....At least we now know the cause of the Korean war.

They changed the rules to the Elite Shield. Since we no longer have a KO Cup it can't be League winners v Cup winners. So now the rules say:- SR19.1.34.2.b (i) If Poole don't win the league, the Elite shield shall be contested between the league winners and Poole SR19.1.34.2.b(ii) If Poole win the league, the Elite Shield shall be contested between Poole and anyone they fancy.

Ben Hopwood confirmed as the final rider

I used to envy people who visit gyms for their fit and healthy approach to life. But now I know they're just people with nothing better to do because they're suspended from work and feeling remorseful for their alcoholism

Not sure whether this is the same petition that our resident nutter is prattling on about, because it's not on facebook, it's on some even dafter website called change.org, but it's a petition to allow Ward to ride....and it has 400 signees.....and if you look through the signatures, it's been signed by some well known names. https://www.change.org/p/fim-live-stop-the-ban-and-let-darcy-ward-race-in-2015 Have a read through the people who have signed. (Click on the "most popluar" tab rather than "latest"). It's been signed by some big names like Rolf Harris, Kim Jong Un, Stevie Wonder, Adolf Hitler, Oliver Reed and George Best!

Don't even understand why people are wasting time commenting on this pathetic "petition" (which isn't even a petition anyway), since:- a) It isn't a petition, it's a child's facebook post b.) It's badly written and not worthy of consideration c) It's factually incorrect and not worthy of consideration d) It's highly unlikely to be seen by anyone in power at the FIM or WADA as I doubt they trawl facebook posts e) If by any chance it was seen by someone at the FIM or WADA, they would take no notice of a child's facebook post anyway. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber's "Back in the studio...of course" post is now up to 61,536 retweets and 70,323 favourites. Now whilst we're on the subject of pointless social media drivel, I have been doing some research and note that all the main players have names for their sheep-like inane kiddiwink supporters. Justin Bieber's halfwit devotees are "Beliebers". Cheryl Cole's are "Soldiers". Lady Gaga's are "Monsters". Kylie Minogue's are "Lovers". One Direction's are "Directioners" So I think we need a name for the ill-educated sheep who want to get Darcy out of his current hole. Can I therefore suggest "Darceholes"?

The fact that it's libellous?
-
Seemed rude not to. 44,252 likes and 37,141 retweets now.

Justin Bieber just said "Back in the Studio....of course!" He's got 43,446 likes and 36,474 retweets so far. He's a knobhead too.

Darcy Ward and another rider...and a bed....and a beer bottle..... Nah, could never happen!

Nice of Gluestix to take part in the Crimewatch reconstruction of Darcy's breath test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEQiZpwLxm0

When you're an off-duty version of Clouseau using an uncalibrated breathalyser from the pound shop it's always best to practise on a couple of others first!

So today's lesson seems to be that drinking and operating motorised vehicles can be viewed as less of an offence if you have a lot of likes on a naff facebook group. I shall remember this and will be opening a facebook support group the next time I get a parking fine or a speeding ticket. You may say this will never work, but remember a lot of magistrates are also senile old duffers, so they may well share this view.
