  1. He collapsed and died at the post-meeting reception after the 1978 Golden Jubilee World Final at Wembley.
  2. And people accuse promoters of having no business sense! Why would they charge £10, when they can fill the stadium at £20/£25 ? I believe Manchester United fill Old Trafford at an average ticket price of £45. Why don't you suggest to them that they charge a tenner?
  3. 2 x adults and 2 x £8 children is £56 not £64. And if the kids are under 12 then they are free. And there's no banking for you to stand on. You'll either be under the covered terracing of the back straight stand, or the terracing on the bends.
  4. Matt Ford finds your lack of faith disturbing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onhFH7jpq2c
  5. Can't fault a word of SCB's post. Fans were going home disappointed that they didn't get 3 points? Well tough....that's life. The idea is you battle to try to get maximum points, and sometimes you're successful and sometimes you're not. If you follow Jon Cook's silly notion to its logical extreme you should give both teams 4 points regardless of the score and everyone can go home happy and stadiums will be full. Nonsense. If one team is battling to steal a point, then the other team should be battling equally to save that point. Otherwise its open to fiddling. Imagine if we get to the last match of the season before the play-offs and Coventry need 3 points to make the play-offs and Poole need one point...guess what score that match will finish.....
  6. Not sure SCB's code will run on Mr Morrish's Smith-Corona typewriter.
  7. Sounds the best option... With a guest facility they would currently have the choice of using R/R or Schlein, PK, Lawson, King, Kylmakorpi etc on a horses for courses basis.
  8. Any rider becomes available if the money is right. However Belle Vue are needing to replace Stead who is a doubling up rider, and a doublng-up rider is cheaper than a stand alone rider. Przemek Pawlicki would be the best bet, but Coventry couldn't afford him, so BV won't be able to. Expect another double-upper to come in, and that means Barker or R Worrall.
  9. And Woffy is over 7.00 so you can't have him. Best bet is Ben Barker!
  10. Why didn't Darcy think of this.... http://www.thepoke.co.uk/2015/04/17/meanwhile-in-canada/
  11. Leicester know they will win easily, so why pay for a guest when they can use the cheaper R/R option?
  12. Not really. They're racing against a team tonight without their GP rider and their best Leicester performer. So when Leicester get a massive win, Norrie Allen will be able to pretend it was all due to his motivational speech/threats.
  13. Do Sir Shoutalot and Kelvin think that Lewis Kerr and Lewis Rose are the same person? Are they aware that only Kerr is riding
  14. I don't like to think of him as a drunk driver. I consider him more a forgot-to-rehydrate driver.
  15. Think Rene Aas got a bit of a bum deal.
  16. Ah...That'll be a huge relief to Rene Aas
  17. I dread to think what Marvyn Cox's sponsorship deal was.
  18. I reckon this makes Coventry favourites for the title now ahead of King's Lynn and Belle Vue.
  19. Here's the application form. https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006pnjk/contact They ask for a lot of details that the ordinary fan won't know, but presumably you could just fill in the bits you know.
  20. Why not? It's been posted on here. Someone capable of starting a thread on here is capable of getting me an answer to a simple and relevant question about their post.
  21. Well he should know the answer to my question then....obviously you don't.
  22. could ask Starman to ask Jerran Hart......when he gets out of course
  23. I'm honestly not bothered whether I get a good view of the racing or not. The racing isn't why I'm going
  24. Is he donating the profits to Ricky Ashworth, the SRBF or anything worthwhile?
