Bjerre - What a plonker! -
It's good to see he came back to edit his "who have been warned" spelling mistake and change it to "you have been warned" before he comes back again to remove it and make another post to say the post has been removed. Wonder if he's worked out what 42 divided by 7 is yet?

Craig Cook is, (I think without checking), about the 4th highest averaging Brit in The EL, and one of the PL top performers. In terms of the SWC team for King's Lynn, I'd have Woffinden, Harris and Lambert nailed on, with the last place between King and Cook. In a 7 man GB team Cook would be definitely in. So he's probably in our top half-dozen Brits. The fact he possibly isn't all that bothered about riding Polish league is a bonus in my opinion. British Speedway should have far more Craig Cooks staffing the boiler-room of our EL teams and heading up our PL teams. If Britain could produce a stream of Cook type riders some would push on and some would remain journeymen, but we'd need far less crap foreigners clogging our leagues and far less guests.

I've been having the same thoughts. Even if someone develops an engine which is as fast as a GM and can go a whole season without servicing, someone else will still want to take it to pieces, tweak it, tune it, anything to get a bit more out of it. And even if it can't be tuned any better, someone will still want the psychological advantage of believing they can tweak it.

Peter Clarke needs to grow a backbone. He says the track is fit to ride, but when Havelock says it will be his fault if someone is hurt he claims it's unfair to put that on him.....so clearly that means he knows the track is unfit. If Clarke isn't willing to stand by his decision and accept responsibility for saying "race on" then it clearly is the wrong decision.

Will Poole come out for heats 11 to 15? If it's OK to race heat 10, then it's no worse for heat 11.
-
Think we'll be invoking the rule of call it off as soon as Poole are 7 ahead after heat 10.
-
Mathematically it wouldn't make any difference, but in reality some people would find it harder to grasp the smaller numbers (and we've seen how easily confused some fans are). The current averages give a rough indication of what a rider should score from his 4 programmed rides, and most can gauge the difference in ability between (say) a 6.84 rider and a 5.93 rider.....but could they so easily gauge the comparable abilities of a 1.710 rider against a 1.483 rider?

Morals are irrelevant. Rule 21.3.2 says they have to be UK passport holders only. So if the lad is a Pole he rode illegally and the match should be forfeited. -
Averages are no measure of the quality of the product. However good or bad the riders are, there will always be 6 points available in every race, and teams will always end on a mean average around 42 points. The Elite league will always tend towards a 42 point average, as will the PL, as will the NL, and if 14 of us got together and took 3 minutes to complete 4 laps we'd still end up with a team average of 42.
-
You're on a wind up aren't you? You can't possibly be that thick!
-
But there are 15 heats, not 14! Why on earth are you dividing by 14? Try this:- Elite league match - 90 points divided by 15 heats = 6 Junior second half match - 36 points divided by 6 heats = 6 Old Test matches - 108 points divided by 18 heats = 6 Old League cup - 96 points divided by 16 heats = 6 I blame the education system!
-
All heats are included in averages, but it doesn't matter how many heats there are. There's still 6 points in a race, and to get an equal draw both teams would have a 42 average (6 x 7).
-
But why are you dividing 45 by 7 to produce a random figure? Your calculation makes no sense. The total team average to produce a draw is 42, and with 7 equal riders they would all have to be 6.00. 7 riders with 6.00 averages on all teams would (if they rode to their average) mean that all heats and matches finish in a draw and all riders would remain on 6.00 forever.
-
Why 6.42? Picking a random figure like that makes no sense. If every rider in every team had an average of 6.00 they'd all be equal, every race would be a 4 rider dead-heat, every match would end up 45-45, and they'd all finish the season on 6.00 and able to line up the same again the following year.

Any info on this one? Seems a very odd name for a Brit. If, as has been suggested, he was born in Poland and therefore not eligible for the junior leagues, what would be the implications if he caused an accident? Would the riders still be insured if injured by an illegal rider? -
It's to be hoped Starman stays in a state of whooosh and never finds out what Darcy does with empty bottles.

Janowski isn't injured so it should be a sub 6.00 PL rider in his place. If they use a facility then he is withholding his services and should be banned for 28 days surely? -

The biggest talking point has to be the brilliant trophies. They should be able to get rid of them on ebay if ITV bring back Heartbeat. -
"64. Mr Ward further claimed that his normal alcohol consumption in Australia was limited to a couple of drinks on Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays. He had never been involved in any incidents involving alcohol when riding a motorcycle or driving a car." http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/10240453.Speedway_star_Darcy_Ward_fled_police_while_drunk_and_on_drugs/?ref=rc Isn''t that perjury?

That was an easy decision. Bates lifted and went into Konopka. Bates excluded without question. I liked Bates' idea of a fight. Square up to someone and then run away when you find out he's bigger than you What a clown.

It's irrelevent whether riders are born in Britain, Australia or Outer Mongolia. It's irrelevent which licences they have or which passports they have, The meeting was just an open meeting/challenge meeting. The question I would like to know the answer to is how are the Poles allowed to use the Great Britain team name in their open meeting? I believe the Great Britain name should only be used by riders representing Britain in official FIM events or ACU/SCB sanctioned test matches. Have the ACU/SCB given a Polish promoter permission to use our national team name? And if so, why??? I believe they charge Long Eaton and Milton Keynes a hefty fee to use those club names in the Junior Leagues, yet they seem to be giving away our National team name for a Polish promoter to take the mickey out of and bring it into disrepute.
