John Leslie replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He came back to Britain aged 15 at the standard of a decent 2nd halfer / Junior Development League rider, which was about as far as the Australian junior scene could take him. Rob knew he had to return to Britain to develop any further. I saw a lot of him in those early days as I knew Rob Woffinden. Tai did plenty of second half and Development League matches under Rob's guidance, and had a good 2 years in the NL, then PL and EL. -

Your post wasn't edited. I expect you used a certain swear word which the forum's automatic swear filter changes to "idiot". It's the same as when people use the "Sh*t" word and the automatic filter changes it to "rubbish" -
Tonight's performance has settled it for me. I was unsure between King and Harris for the 4th spot, with Nicholls or Worrall as potential outsiders to grab the spot. But after tonight it has to be King to join the obvious 3 of Woffinden, Cook and Lambert. (Ellis or Bates is a 50/50 but reserve isn't really relevant)

BT Sport not going straight off air before the presentations like Sky used to do. We've seen the presentations, national anthem, press conference, fireworks, more analysis, and it's still on! -

A top broadcaster and very nice to look at. Just a bit out of touch with 2016 speedway as she has been drafted back in after about a 10 year gap. Natalie is highly knowledgeable. They'd have been better the other way around, using Natalie's knowledge to anchor the programme and Suzi to do the pits interviews. -

He certainly isn't. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and presuming it's a small child. -

I don't think anyone's got a clue where you are concerned....You seem more than a bit thick. -

Dudek isn't British. He's a Pole you plank! We can't put him in the World Cup team. -

go to the cricfree link. Let it start. wait 30 seconds. Then look for little crosses to click to close the adverts. Not the big X in the top right of the adverts. You have to look carefully for the little x to close the adverts. -

Both falls were the fault of the Pole not the track. The passes in heat 4 have just made the rest of your post look very foolish indeed. -

Ignore any adverts asking you to log in. If you can hear it, the stream is running. You just have to carefully find the little crosses to close any adverts blocking the view. -

You don't. There's no such word.,,,just as there's no such restaurant. I'm sure if he'd asked the restaurant Meals on Wheels lady she'd have brought him a Speedway Star instead. P.S. He now seems very confused about you pointing out that he'd admitted the SGP was mentioned in the Mirror. -

...and yet some digbats don't even know Lewis's name despite having (allegedly) just read it in some newspapers in a pretend restaurant. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
John Leslie replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Visit KKS's bedroom to engage his onions. Buy a year's supply of Speedway Star from Starman. Race at New Cross in a Stock Car with race number "Penge1946" (and admit it was better then) Lose every race in the Ben Fund meeting to Rob Homer. Front the campaign to have Jerran Hart released from jail Gain a £1M sponsorship deal with Mason Wear and donate all the money to the Ben Fund. -

Belle Vue V Wolverhampton 06-07-2016
John Leslie replied to GregoryM's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When the best rider gated, they won without needing to pass. When the best rider didn't gate, they won by passing. When two riders of equal ability met, they rode shoulder to shoulder. There were no instances of a better rider being stuck behind and unable to pass because the track is too narrow/a bad shape/rutted/badly prepared etc. So that's good speedway. -
Post Meeting Conferences
John Leslie replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I love the way Starman sneaks a deliberate spelling mistake into every single post he makes. -
Whereas every other innocent club is punished by Cradley being given a bonus 4 points start to the league.
-
That is so bent, and flies in the face of previous rulings! After the infamous Belle Vue Poole Waterpipegate match, Belle Vue were deducted 3 points and the match run again. The SCB said that they couldn't award the points to Poole as that would be unfair to every other team in the league. So surely Mildenhall should have been deducted 3 points? They can't award the points to Cradley as that is unfair to every other team in the league. Basically by ignoring their own precident the SCB have given Cradley a bonus of 4 points, penalised every other innocent NL team, and given Mildenhall no punishment at all!
-
It should follow the precedent set in the Belle Vue/Poole burst pipe meeting. A fine, a deduction of 3 league points and Mildenhall not allowed to call off any meetings without the agreement of the SCB for 2 years.

Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
John Leslie replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Following on from the discussion as to whether ex-riders should get a free pass for life (even if they only rode a handful of matches and were frankly a bit crap), should ex-journalists get a free copy of Speedway Star for life? (even if said journalist was also a bit crap)?
