Speedway's Equivalent To War & Peace!ยง
Brian replied to Bryn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Tried my local Tesco Extra this afternoon but they still had 2 copies of last weeks edition on the shelf and not this weeks. Will try again tomorrow. -
Doubt this promotion will be as loyal to failing riders as Len was but it's a bit early to expect them to make changes. Rye now at Somerset on Good Friday, replacing Plymouth.
-
Maybe Eastbourne promotion read this forum as they've already put out a statement about broadcasts.

Rye House Vs Plymouth Sat 19th March 7pm

Really cold last night, but a very enjoyable meeting and a positive start to the season. Never realised Robbo could make 5 starts like that! -
At Last, 2016 Speedway Regulations Now Available
Brian replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I thought all the supplementary regulations were published on the SCB website last year. -
If I recall correctly, at the recent fans forum Jon Cook said the relationship with the stadium owners was good and they were confident that Lakeside would be there for a few years.
-
Thanks to John for the years of loyal service he gave to Rye. Only spoke to him a couple of times but a very decent and approachable man. Hope he's not completely lost to the sport. As for the other things, I'm not overly fussed by the changes yet as change happens in any business and this is no different however I think the pressure will be on to be winning otherwise I fear for what are already small attendances. Looks like BMR are going to make more use of the stadium with the Rye House flat track team including someone expected to bring people in to watch. Time will tell.

Last night Jon Cook said averages would be calculated every 2 weeks. Assuming I heard him correctly.

That crater was so deep I thought archaeologists were digging for Roman ruins.
-
I presume the decisions have been made as all training has been suspended whilst work is being carried out on the track and safety fence. Either that or it's likely to be a late decision.
-
Pleased with that team so far. Reserves will be interesting. What's all this about Kelsey Dugard on the Rye thread? Have I missed something?
-
With Clifton out of reserve on 3.5, you will be tracking 3 X 3 ish.

The rumour is EL & NL, so Eastie picking the riders may be a little premature. -
Are you certain of keeping Garrity after his comment to the Sky cameras last Friday?

Posf1 - Belle Vue Aces Vs Swindon Robins, 14 Sep 2015

Never ceases to amaze how people fall for all this nonsense. Rosco makes a daft statement to the local press and the overreaction in here is incredible. It's a speedway meeting, that's all. -

Glasgow tomorrow could be interesting if Jacobsen and Lambert are ruled out. -
Hope you're right.

If Len's still the Rye co-promoter, expect Bowen and Boxall to be pencilled in now for next season.

Berwick V Rye House: Saturday 5th September

Jorgensen had a puncture in heat 5 at Plymouth. Can't have helped his shoulder trying to race a bike with a flat tyre. -
Plymouth V Berwick 4th Sept
Brian replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To only win 4 races, with 3 of those wins by Worrall was always only going to have one result as was the reserves only adding 2 points from heat 2 to the total. Jorgensen was clearly out of sorts last night and the puncture in heat 5 possibly didn't help. Don't think it was one of Mellgrens favourites either, only scoring 4+1, with 2 of those being scored only after the misfortunes of others. Four 5-1 scores at the business end of the meeting sealed Berwick's fate though it was over long before then in reality. Plymouth looked fast and well prepared but of course that should be expected as they were at home. Looked a decent crowd too, all going home happy. Rather one sided but as a neutral on holiday, I enjoyed it. One off topic point, a man and his son beside me. Son asked where Berwick was? Dad replied ' I don't know son, it's up north somewhere, but then again, everything's up north from here.' Just made me chuckle. -
The kart site doesn't need extending and if they were flush with money they should consider resurfacing the currently cracked track. EL rumours being spread around again but I just don't see it. Too many negatives with the EL.

Somerset Rebels Vs Peterborough Panthers, 28/8/15
Brian replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
R/R for Blackbird only scoring 3 didn't help Peterborough neither did having only 2 race wins, one of those being heat 15 when it was all over. Jensen strengthens Somerset massively if tonight is an indicator. -
Several 'apparently' and 'I've heard' but are there any links to back up these allegations? There's something clearly wrong at Rye but apart from Andrew and the Rye owners it's all guesswork as they are the only ones knowing the reasons.
