An excellent attendance for the first meeting, and I have to say I didn't enjoy it and that's from someone who watched the top heavy Raiders last season. The meeting was too disjointed, it seemed to take forever to run some races for various reasons what with falls, tape breaks and deflating air fences. I'll give it another go once the league gets underway. Hope some of those attending today also give it another chance. Felt sorry for George Hunter, he's a better rider than the one shown today. Also thought those bumps going into bend 1 would have been sorted. Now sitting outside the Norfolk Arena for another fix.

King's Lynn V Rye House 14th April 7.30
Brian replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lynn to win by 20. -
Rye need to change whilst Watt is still carrying that 7.56 average and Robson 7.09. Hope the management don't wait until it's too late.
-
As said by others, Watt and Robson need to up their game or be shown the door without delaying too long.

According to a Rye press release, Rob Branford is riding for them tomorrow so guest required. -
Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April

Think Rye will win on Saturday bit it'll be close. Agree with the disappointment on stadium progress and expect to see a lot of moaning on social media on Saturday evening. -
That's an understatement.

Ipswich Vs Sheffield Sgbc 25/03/17 7.30pm
Brian replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well by the end I was damned cold if you lot weren't. Ipswich were good, add in Newman and I can't see anybody getting close to them at home. Away from Foxhall remains to be seen but expect them to win a few on the road. Hume was the star man last night. If he can maintain that level he'll make a mockery of that average. With only 4 heat wins, Sheffield were poor. I expected more from them even though it's a first meeting. Very good crowd in, makes a lot of difference. -

Programme says 285m. -

If it came to a choice between Lanham and Morley, I'd take Morley. Can't see either improving their averages but think Morley is more likely to maintain his.
-
Watching George last year, he shows a lot of promise as long as can remain free from injury. Both good signings.
-
If the Council retained control of the food outlets and bars, I suspect it would all have to go out to tender.
-
There's also a picture on FB which indicates the Armco has also gone. Will only really know what's happening when Horton makes a statement, if he ever does.
-
Excellent signing at reserve. Rob's certainly a trier and has a good attitude. He'll do well next season.
-
Shafted in what way? It's a shame for Lakeside but I thought it was good that Jon Cook came out with an announcement early rather than read another load of rumours somebody made up.
-
Pleased the format has changed to that in the lower division. Don't see Premiership as sustainable on the attendances at Rye but maybe the promotion are going to promote. Not keen on Rye being in the top tier but will reserve judgement until I see the team lineup.
-
Needs a rule change though as Harris is currently ineligible as his average is above 6.
-
People make up this rumour from time to time. The attendances alone couldn't justify Rye moving up. Whilst they can race any night their attendances look best on Saturdays.

Quite amusing how you're trying to deflect blame because of Brum management not knowing the rules. -
Buxton Hitmen V Rye House Raiders - 23/10/16
Brian replied to Little Thumper's topic in National League Speedway
Buxton racing with 2 guests and R/R and Rye replace Morley with a 3 point man. This season is really just drifting to a close. Rye still have a fixture at Coventry which looks as though nobody's bothered about either. -
You've put Rob Branford in your Newcastle team on another thread. Is this the new guest rule?
-
To guest, a rider has to be in a declared 1-7 of a NL team. If Hopwood has been sacked then he's ineligible, if suspended I've no idea.
-
Don't think there's any chance of Rye being in the EL next year. The attendances alone wouldn't justify it.
-
The rule will be dropped as it's uncertain how many will choose the EL over PL potentially leading to a shortage of suitable riders.
