  1. Can we now run a MDL team as The Huns as we need to get youngsters of our own? Did this at Dudley Wood way back on a Wednesday night and got a fair few riders out of it, most of note......Dave Perks! Stick a Heathens head race jacket on them or the 2013 NL team and BLISS!!!!!
  2. No, but at least we have had a Heathens team to follow again since 2010 in the NL and hopefully for the future, however long that is
  3. Perhaps the ones who are complaining about having to let Tom & Daryll go do not fully, no disrespect at all folks, understand the C21st rules, etc........even so we have had to break up teams far, far stronger than the NL 2012 side, remember the 80's when that started or before under rider control when we started to finish 13th or above in the BL of 20 teams! Who ever rides in 2013 they will give their utmost for the Heathens as all have done in the past since 1947!!!!!!!
  4. This is the best news we have had since the 2012 Season ended. A big thanks to the Moss family and all others who have made The Hitmen come to the tapes in 2013!
  5. My last two points are: 1............Please give this back to Scunny. They have lost a really good NL Team. 2............Can I ask a question? Is it not time to somehow restructure the NL & the AJL/MDL so that the Clubs who want/can run at a true 3rd Tier/NL 2013 Semi Pro League do and the others run at either 1 or 2 x 6 Heat Matches per night 4th Division/Amatuer League/Training League? Please do not turn this into Dudley v the Rest of the NL..................Hope the Saints will be back sooner rather than later. Mr. Godfrey/Mr Parnaby can you some how arrange to get the Saints or the Stags to Monmore Wood in an old firm Iron 'n' Steel Challenge Match in 2013?
  6. Here we go........Dudley's fault again! Dudley were not in the NL when it was changed from the CL to the NL from my memories, There has always be a conflict of interests for those competing in the British 3rd Division since it was created, just like when St Austell and Linlithgow were accused of 'win at all costs' way back. I do hope that Mr Godfrey has a change of heart by time the declaration date for the final teams to be announced or that some else can take over running the Saints and has them riding out of Scunthorpe as a stand alone team either as Scunthorpe or by another name (Hull maybe)!
  7. I cut my teeth on CL racing way back in the 90's when Club CH rode there after Cradley @ Stoke shut at Loomer Road so I hope the news is good on Saturday as I want the Hitmen back at Monmore Wood in 2013 (I love the Race Jacket)..........if not thanks to all at High Edge for some wonderful times, races, views and, of course, Jon Amstrong, Adam Allott, Dean Felton, James Mann, Rob Branford, Jason Garrity, Nick Morris to name but a few over the years!!!!!
  8. I would say that the Management have looked at all things. Look on the bright side...........we are running again and that is better than a few others I could mention. 'Ommer 'Um in 2013 and beyond at Monmore Wood or the new Dudley Wood when ever/where ever it happens....................now a Heathens face on the 2013 race jacket would make my year!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I did not go to the meeting Thursday BUT look on the brightside for 2013....................... Heathens are back in the League, whichever one, who knows? We may be called by our correct name....CRADLEY/CRADLEY HEATH! I will have my beloved Heathens on track for another year & hopefully be allowed to sponsor a Heat again for 3 years running! Another Season Ticket when the email arrives! Alan Belham, sorry Jamie, will make me a perfect hand stiched replica race jacket again for the 4th year running & I will win a 2013 Golden Hammer race jacket on eBay for the 4th year running. Happy Bunny..........................?????????????????...........Say YES!!!!!!! I care not what League (EL to MDL) or guise! Roll on March 2013!
  10. This is very correct in my opinion. Perhaps the Heathens should have entered the National Trophy or had a few Challenge matches to be match fit as a team when the PO's come around. A mistake I'm afraid that may come back to haunt us by the 31st October! hope I am wrong tho'!
  11. Well? What can I say??????????????? Followed all the meeting from Cradley on my PC as I could not get to Loomer Road. Speachless. Another night and just like days of old when a phoenix rises from the ashes of possible defeat............41 - 54 & Won on aggregate! Well done ALL the Heathens at Loomer Road on Wednesday night. Roll on the 23rd October...........it would be nice to have a crack at Mildy twice in one night but I would prefer to see Mildy KOC & IoW PO Final just for a change in the double header!
  12. I said what I said as a Heathens fan! Stoke took advantage of a very, very poor performance. I paid for my season ticket to be let down when it mattered most. Stoke are in the PO but they are 22 league points behind us at the cut off point and the team's combined GS Average is 12 points behind ours! Need I say more? Can't blame injuries.........Adam swopped for the British U21 Champion in the NL should be same for same, JWW should have gone ages ago, BB's various injuries were an awful shame as he was back nearly to the BB of old! If DG had not got his racing head on after the awful crash at Mildy, perhaps he should not have ridden and got his body/head back together for tonight. Even on the Dudley site WP says....."The former Cradley club made hard work of their long awaited home leg on Tuesday at Wolverhampton and wasted points through crashes and mechanical breakdowns." & “We're pretty gutted to be honest because we threw quite a few points away after being in good positions." The managment say they care but do they really? Up to 2000 devoted Heathens fans were let down last night by JH, JWW & DG. TP, AM & DR did their best to gain the win....after all Happiness is 44-43 in your favour. Potters should win at a canter if the same happens tonight, never know tho' Speedway is a funny game and we could just win and meet up with Mildy in the Final. We have done the impossible in the past! As for the nights in the league available......that needs no comment in my opinion........we do not seem to have enough as we always stick to Tuesdays.......what actually is our declared Off Night? Wednesday or Sunday or the next available Tuesday that Ladbrookes allow? There you are greyhound, an explanation of my total frustration as a Heathens fan since the Summer of '59! Frustrations & rant over just as if I were at Cradley Heath's Charlie Wright's on a Thursday night back in the day, Season Ticket for 2013 will be on order soon and off we go again in whatever league my beloved Heathens are in in 2013!
  13. As I said in another cyber space........Won the League and donated the rest to Mildy or Stoke just like we did to Buxton in 2010. Waste of a 2012 Season Ticket and do the Management really care? Does it really matter in 2013 as we have not got the nights to make a go of it in any league?
  14. I think we got the crack at the 2011 NS because we were NL Leaders 2010 at the end of the NL 2010 Season & Buxton won everything, so nobody to ride against except themselves.
  15. The winners from 2011 (Dudley) had to defend it at the start of 2012 to "open the NL Season", which we did and have to, I presume, do the same in 2013. Parsloes have a quick look at Wolves fixture list, I think they did the same in the EL Shield but lost to Poole H & A so, I assume, Poole will have to defend it in 2013. I do not know if there is a PL Shield run the same way.
  16. From my understanding we are getting about the 3rd highest crowds in UK league speedway and can at times beat our hosts at Monmore. The figure for the 2012 Golden Hammer when Jan O & Sam rode was published in local papers. The figure of 1700 has also been bandied around as a season average in local rags. Tonights rag is also saying that the crowds are not going down below the 2010 starting average which has been suggested to be at least 1500 in the local area. Anyway........the Heathen throng is a very goodly number and far exceeds the majority of clubs (home and away) which is why I said it is a pity that other clubs are not getting sensible numbers to sustain a viable club. Perhaps the BSPA should publish the figures in the Speedway Star and then there would be no hiding anything when it comes to paying fans, who are their bread and butter if the sport is going to continue to thrive in future years. Just a thought on crowd size but no one has disputed my guestimates when I have said before on other threads
  17. Not been to Mildy for a while so don't know about them but can say that Dudley on a Tuesday rocks to the beat of up to just under the 2,000 mark by my looking around. I won't be far out. At one match last year, Golden Hammer I think, it was reported that we had 3000+ Pity that other tracks have not got that kind of dedicated fanatics turning up to watch NL or the EL/PL for that matter.
  18. Yep! But the fish & chips on the way home at Ella's on Cradley High Street and then the next meeting was always much better.........even after a 30 minute dash from Brandon or 15 minutes from Monmore on other nights............WIN OR LOOSE
  19. Let us ALL be honest Tiger the majoritory of the threads are speculation just like it used to be in Charlie Wrights in Cradley Heath over a few Barley Wines and chips at Ella's on the way home on a Thursday night? Long may in conitinue as well
  20. World domination.............? Speedway history says that we have done that. 2010 was a very fresh start al la 1947 and we ain't doing bad are we? 'Ommer 'um
  21. I will have to have my say in this as a true Heathen! (Check the avatar) Every world ill, no matter where, has been heaped upon successive generations of Heathen fans/riders/etc. since we opened to British speedway in 1947 at the esteemed Dudley Wood Long, yes long, may it continue in what ever league we are in.
  22. Would it be better for the loyal Workington fans & KD to drop into the NL? Doesn't seem to have done IoW any harm and 500 paying fans must make money in the NL. Everybody wins.........if that doesn't go ....then
  23. May I suggest to the Moderators that this is locked as it going to round in circles for pages.......................Heathens got Joe temporary for Adam..........end of story. No bar room spins will change this! Once a Heathen always a Heathen
  24. 'Fraid it has.......................one rule for the rest and if my beloved Heathens do the same............well Poor show & against the rules, etc..............................
  25. In my opinion..............it is like for like, but it is the Heathens who are doing it this time, so it must be bad Mildenhall have done the same thing with Isherwood at the lower end, Stoke did the same thing with Simon Lambert & Scunthorpe are still declaring a certain Jerran Hart at #1 & ran Paul Cooper as a guest rider for the biggest part of last season when it suited them after he had retired as well! I find it a joke that the NL is still by all being called a Development League...........hasn't been that for years! Anyways, heres to a good set of safe meetings in the Play Offs & KO Cup for all who qualify or have qualified through their endevours this Season.
