  1. Superb meeting. Great between the top 4......................... Well worth the costs of the meeting to be honest if you came from Buxton or Cradley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Perhaps the time has come for the NL to become a semi pro 3rd Tier League and the teams (unknown to me) who cannot afford to be in it make a 4th Tier in the manner of the original Amateur League/Conference League was designed to do way back (1995ish) when teams like Buxton, etc were formed, around 23 years ago. Perhaps they could run 5 man teams and do double headers like the Plymouth/Kent model that were used for their Development League meetings so far this year with a mini Rider of the Night to end with (15 or so Heats). I am not saying anything against Jayne as I have great faith that the Buxton/Moss family tradition will prevail for a long time to come!
  3. If the 7.66 is correct it is the joke of the year in Speedway terms. Can someone now get Screeny, Hall, Stoney, Les Collins , Phil Collins to name but a few back in a 2017 team on the same figure???????????? The mighty Mark Robinson when he rode at #7 for Cradley in about 1990 had a 2.56 (approx.) average and was saddled with a 9 plus average in the 2011 NL and that stopped his comeback! How about low ability foreigners on the same 7.66 or there about assessed average like Rye House did back in the day when they forced non British riders being allowed in our 2nd Division and started the rot? I fear for the NL/CL as this could be the tipping point to a semi pro NL and a proper designated 3rd Division. I could go on but...................I hope Cook and Tatum are proud of the professional 'cheating' that they are doing. Rant over, back to the side lines I go!
  4. Read it and cannot see that it is in any way legal! The other 11 NL teams should fight hard against it and stop it happening or it will be the death of the NL/CL as we know it. Gustix, correct me if I am wrong, but does this not smack what Romford Bombers did in 1969 when they signed Des Luckhurst but he had to come in on an very high 10 or low 11 point average and he improved on it in the old BL Div2?
  5. I must say that Paul on a 7.44 is still way wrong! 1.4 * 3.91 * 2 less the allowance for injury/grass tracking is nearer to 11 than 7.44. He cannot ride over the weekend, from what I understand, as he has not been declared in a legal 1 to 7 for the 7 days before. Lakeside should be forced to keep him out 'til things are sorted by the BSPA otherwise we are going to have appeals for ages and meeting scores sorted out at a later date!
  6. Have to ask and I have no complaints but what is Paul Hurry's average? I have difficulty seeing that is below Dave's. If Max Clegg's come in on his 2016 10+ average what should Paul's come in on? A multiple of his last Elite League average (3.91) If you just double it to get a PL average then do the same again to get a 2017 NL average I would have thought that he would be closer to 15 than 6.5, even after allowing for not riding for in a league for at least 5 years and gaining a legit % reduction. Just curious how it was calculated and why he is in but riders like Richard Hall & Harland Cook to name but a few are not? Any one know or can say?
  7. Thank God that common sense will prevail on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF MBC can see sense for the Aces then WOT ABOUT DMB for Cradley??????????????????????????????????
  8. I did not where to look to be honest and I have not the time to trawl pages. Just think that March is a bit late, as when other teams have had problems they were shut or were closed mid season and I do not want that to happen to Belle Vue. Perhaps the precedence set in 2011 when Peterborough and Coventry were admitted to the Elite League late set a precedence that could it be used again. Thanks for the info as that is why I asked the question.
  9. Have to ask, but does anybody know of a team in any division that has been given this long to be in any League of any kind? I do not know of one and would have thought that the BSPA would have changed the League license to an OPEN LICENCE for common sense, financial & face saving! I have lost the will to live on this debacle weeks ago. Feel free to discuss my post, but I would NOT allow any BV team into any league 'til 2018 at the earliest after proving themselves like others have done in the past.

  11. I still think that T. Rex are the very best band EVER and that Quick Joey Small by the Ohio Express should be played at ALL Cradley matches 2010 untill time ends. SAD. Eh? I will have to email Nigel and Co!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. "Speedway first of all is about 4 men 4 bikes 4 laps of full throttle mayhem." "There will be more speedway tracks in operation in 2017 than there were 30 years ago. True, the standard of rider is lower but there are still more." I have copied the above two comments and have to agree with them 200%! A rebrand as the first as opposed to a 'Family Sport' may help, as I have been a Cradley fan since 1959 and still hold a Season Ticket today and Speedway was NEVER sold to me as such. Speedway teams have always come and gone as is the nature of the sport but to have more now than 30 years ago, mind you more than in 1965, is a major achievement in any sport! Be careful for what you moan about, being a Cradley fan I have lost and regained a lot since 1959. Thank you Nigel and all at Heathens HQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Discuss................................
  13. Get Max and Bradley back first, then do the sums...then ask Danny as well!
  14. Heathens HQ never advertised it as a NL only meeting. From the get go when the fixture list was set for the 'Ommer it was always meant to be a EL/PL/NL meeting hence the extra charges for all. By my counting there were only 4 (+ the reserves) that were pure NL riders all the rest were EL/PL/NL (make up your combination from the 3 Leagues).
  15. I think it is about the 26th September. I know that we, Cradley, finish(?) our NL campaign on the 25th at Buxton and still have Stoke to add away into the mix before then. Perhaps someone can help?
  16. This idea was called Cavalcade of Speed meetings back in the day. I enjoyed the ones we had a Cradley, although they appeared at other tracks as well, as the Midgets cars were first class, never really took to the side cars tho. Perhaps some enterprising promoter could try them again in some form.
  17. Thanks for the info. I will try later.
  18. I have put KODI on my Fire Stick and eventually got the Speedway Portal to work. My money well spent! looking forward to watching the videos and, with luck some or all of the 2016 GPs (albeit, I presume) delayed. How do you get the other channels that are Sport in the massive list (the one with every sport channel known to mankind) that appear on the net to download into KODI? A bit of help needed here if possible.
  19. According to Patch, on Facebook, the date for the 2016 'Ommer is to be released at a later time!
  20. 9 to 10.5................depends how he team rides with his partner in a Heat. he has in the past followed team mates home many times.
  21. Stop selling Speedway as a 'Family Sport'. It never has been in the Cradley area (on par with Villa, Blues, Baggies, Wolves Walsall football clubs), in fact a Religion is probably more to the point OR 4 maniacs riding 500cc bikes as if their lives depended on it. With the crowd responding accordingly. Once a Heathen , always a Heathen!
  22. Have to say the track was much deeper when Cradley were on! Have to admit I would like to know who gave the vote on the track prep vs Eastie when we drew 30 a piece in the KOC final? Some one with blinkers, a white stick & a Labrador in tow? Probably the worst track in modern speedway history! Alex...........Perry Barr's facilities outside the super bar are actually probably the worst in speedway for viewing!
  23. Alex do me a favour and go back south, turn your 'phone off and then to bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
