  1. I hope when the fixtures are released that the heathens v hawks meeting is at Arena, not been to purfleet since 1990 and would love to pay a visit this year.
  2. You can look at as many bigger pictures as you like but the way this has been done is a disgrace, Whatever decisions the bspa made im pretty sure they were not made at 9 am yesterday, why let people from mildenhall turn up to a meeting and then be told sorry you cant come in. If restrictions were put in place then anybody involved with trying to save mildenhall should have been made aware of them so that they knew what they were dealing with.
  3. According to the Dudley press release Adam comes in on a 7.7 average. If he stays fit i would expect him to put at least 2 points on top of that. Great signing for the club.
  4. Seems the BSPA wont be happy until there are no clubs left at all - Those financial demands for a third tier club in current climates are a joke. Feel sorry for all connected to Mildenhall, lets hope its not the final nail in the coffin for them.
  5. I really hope the club can be saved, my favourite away trip with the heathens last year was my visit to weymouth, its a great little set up and surely with the holidaymakers in the summer months it should be more than capable of breaking even in the right hands. Fingers crossed that the Wildcats are back on track in 2011
  6. Great Quote - not, lets just hope your track never closes down maybe you will be on the other side of your face then.
  7. Jake is riding for the heathens, and in my opinion it will be a close meeting and buxton wont walk it.
  8. How did i forget Mr Garrity! I agree entirely with what you have said, he looked very quick around monmore green and hes certainly not short on confidence If he can calm down a bit i think he has a huge future.
  9. I didnt see Ash ride last year so my comparison is to what i have seen this year, at the start of the season he struggled but in all fairness he was riding at the very difficult number 2 position, However IMO over the last 6 or 8 weeks he looks a completley different rider, im sure being at reserve has helped with his confidence and im sure his experience with edinburgh has also helped him loads. So i stick with my original posting that from the start of the season to the end of the season Ash is one of the most improved riders i have seen.
  10. Both Tom Perry and Ashley Morris have made huge strides for the heathens this year and both look destined to have a great future in the sport, others who have impressed me are Kyle Newman, Nick Morris and Marc Owen
  11. In your dreams Steve ! Would seriousley be great to have a re match with you guys but at monmore this time - 100 quid says the heathens do you this time
  12. I agree it was a horrendous looking crash and was lucky that it didnt wipe out Tom Perry aswell, The medical staff deserve a lot of praise for the way the situation was dealt with. It really is time though that air fences are made compulsory at every track in the country - What price on riders safety?
  13. I predict it will be called the golden hammer not the golden helmet Difficult one to call, its an excellent line up but i will go for a top three of Lee Smart, Craig Cook, Jon Armstrong but then you cant rule out Nick Morris, Jerran Hart, Simon Lambert throw in a couple of spoilers Tom Perry, Micky Dyer and young American Gino Manzares - almost impossible to call, really looking forward to it as long as the rain stays away.
  14. He belongs in a heathens race jacket so make sure you look after him!
  15. Jon is flying at the moment - followed his paid 16 at Weymouth with a 14+1 paid Maximum at monmore Green on Tuesday.
  16. Good to see our potential coach get a paid maximum tonight, great entertainment earning some of his points from behind, but hey he really shouldnt be there should he Another impressive performance from Micky Dyer aswell - mind you he shouldnt be there either really should he and further excellent performances from Richie Franklin, Tom Perry and Ashley Morris - i think its ok for them to be there
  17. Well thats not you were saying in your earlier posts.
  18. And your saying that theres no place anywhere for the likes of john armstrong because hes to old for national league and wont get signed by a premier league team so he should what?? just retire - In my opinion i go to speedeway to be entertained, jon armstrong does that, take this new heathens signing, who says hes going to make it, who says hes going to be any better than jon armstrong, hes certainly not at this moment in time, so why should jon give his team place up to someone who might or might not make the grade. I dont understand where your coming from, plymouth another example there 2 best riders mark simmonds and seemend stephens on your theory should be forced to retire because they are past a certain age and in all fairness are not going to improve, doesnt matter that they both give great entertainment. Why should he stop racing to become a coach, friday night he scored 15 points was involved in the race of the night and was excellent entertainment, but you think he should jack it in to become a coach - how old are you, what do you do for a job , maybe you should be forced to leave work and just paid a token amount to show others how to do your job - unbeleivable!
  19. And who are these kids going to learn from - Jon Armstrong is superb in the pits with the young kids, and had you been at weymouth on friday night you would have seen that he is also excellent entertainment. He also is coming back from a serious leg injury, and the other side of the coin is if there werent so many aussies in the premier league then people like jon armstrong would get a team place! So what your saying is its ok for the aussies to come over and race national league but british guys shouldnt be allowed if they are over a certain age
  20. The reason we are so far behind other nations is nothing to do with who is racing in the national league, the kids in denmark, sweden, australia etc can start racing when they are 6 or 7 years old, unless our boys take up grasstrack at an early age they dont have that opportunity - take young Nick Morris ok maybe not been racing 500s for long but he has been racing motorcycles over in australia since he was maybe 7 or 8 years old and it makes a huge difference, the scattering of aussies in the nl is so far down on the list of reasons why we are behind other nations. Its a bit harsh to suggest because he lost his team place that Sarj is on the scrapheap, its a knockback for the kid but hes certainly not on the scrapheap!
  21. Marcus the thing is you might not give a flying s@@t about dudley but there is over a thousand supporters who turn up at each heathens meeting who do, The management team of the heathens first priority is looking after the heathens and that is what they have done here, we have been struggling and the team needed stregthening, im sure if a suitable british rider had been available he would have been considered but nobody seems to be able to give just one name of a british rider who would fit the bill. Im as patriotic as anybody (and beleive me after watching the football this afternoon its not always easy !!) but you cant blame anybody at dudley for looking out for themselves - as i have said before they broke no rules - maybe its the bspa who you should be annoyed with who set the rules in the first place.
  22. No one is forgeting that james is only 16 and that this is only his second season in racing, beleive me having seen every heathens meeting this season mostly from the pits i know how hard Sarj has tried and the effort he puts in, and i am genuinly gutted for the kid, i also have no doubts that he has a huge future in the sport, but what your not understanding is that 14 years the heathens have been without a team and in all honesty imo this is our last throw of the dice to try and make the council sit up and take notice and help us find a piece of land to build our own track. Any publicity we can get is crucial as is keeping the huge crowds that we have been getting, to get these two things we need a team that is competative and winning meetings. Our promoters as i said in a previous post did what they think is best for the heathens and they did it without breaking any rules at all. In an ideal world we would win the league with a bunch of english kids all of whom go on to race for team gb in the gps and world team cups, but then again in an ideal world we will beat germany 6-0 in the footy on sunday and while im watching it Amanda Holden will come and serve me my dinner but unfortunatley we dont live in an ideal world Good luck to young Sarj where ever he ends up racing and good luck to Micky on his debut tomorrow night.
