Peterborough Vs Ipswich Non 17th April
zonkers replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I see it's a 3pm start today - anyone know what time the gates open please (I've been a bit out of touch ). Thanks. -
Thank you. Does the rule also mean that if a bike packs up they are not allowed to park up on the centre green until the end of the race? I noticed twice they didn't on Monday - instead opting to sit just inside the white line, which is not ideal !
-
Excuse me if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I am back at speedway after an 18 month break - yay! At the Panther v Witches meeting on bank holiday Monday there was mention of the new rule where riders are not allowed to go onto the centre green any more? Did I hear that correctly? Is this under any circumstances, or just to stop them short-cutting when under a 2 minute warning?

Am I the only one who keeps wanting to say Dildo ?? Anyway, I'm very happy to see Roynon back - and even more so Richard Hall ! I might just be tempted to be interested again..... So his boat wouldn't float -
Does anyone know what the pre-race entertainment is yet?

Me too.....mine came this morning - also hand delivered ! How bizarre !!!

2011 NATIONAL LEAGUE TUESDAY FEBRUARY 01, 2011 BRITISH Speedway's National League will have nine clubs doing battle when the tapes rise on the new season. New entrants Belle Vue, Stoke and the reborn Hackney Hawks will join Buxton, Dudley, Isle of Wight, King’s Lynn, Newport and Scunthorpe in the third tier of the sport. Belle Vue will be entering their Colts team in addition to their Elite League operation, Stoke have dropped down from the Premier League and Hackney will share home meetings between Rye House and Lakeside. On the negative side an application was submitted by a potential promotion at Mildenhall but this was turned down. Bournemouth didn’t apply and with no agreement in place to see the sport continuing at Weymouth, the Wildcats have also missed out. The National Trophy has been scrapped because not enough clubs can enter the competition, but the Knockout Cup is retained. The National League Shield has been introduced and champions Buxton will face last season’s table-toppers Dudley over two legs. And whoever finishes top of the league in 2011 will be handed silverware to recognise their achievement. The points limit has been set at 40 and clubs have already started putting their teams together for the new campaign. The National League Pairs have been allocated to Newport, the Fours to Stoke and the National League Riders’ Championship returns to Rye House in September. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.9947 Read more: http://subedei.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=conference&thread=4770&page=1#ixzz1CiMW0k8A

But a sub-standard stadium and facilities for an event of this size..... After such a successful event at Peterborough last year, I felt sure they would hold it there again this year, and cannot understand why it isn't ! Kings b****y Lynn of all places......grrr ! Watching speedwway crammed into a grandstand only fit for Ronnie Corbett, or through a birdcage....? No thanks. I'll be watching on the telly this time....grrrrrr ! Even Coventry would have been better - at least it has a more central location going for it...... -
