  1. There is--saw it weeks ago-just cant find the bleeding clip again. Its on one of the you tubes threads on forum and he just happens to get a mention in the clip incidentally and the race shown but cant be found by a search.
  2. I missed the early eighties and started again in 84 but well remember from the local press when he won the under21s and was hyped up as a future champion. Keep looking in here-people will keep adding I am sure.
  3. Wecome to The BSF Darrol. I did manage to ask Shooting Star if she could ask Steve Hone a couple of days ago if he had any footage-Hopefully should hear from either of them soon mate. Am sure the guys on here will be able to help you more than some of us could on Exeter site that viewed your post. Trouble with some forums is the post drops down and gets lost or not seen by people, and with Exeter not racing at the moment a fair few people that could help do not look in on there at the moment. Good luck on here mate,I am sure you will get as much info as you need.!!!
  4. Matousek http://www.bbc.co.uk/oxford/sport/speedway/ Then under the planet speedway banner hit the grey listen again option.
  5. Goog was a regular in the bar at Exeter meetings until 2004. He sadly died in January 2005. I am not sure about the Canadian connection or why he returned to the UK. If I bump into Jack Geran at any future supporters events I will ask him,as he was always talking to Goog on Monday nights. Will also ask Tony Lethbridge next time I see him. Many thanks to everyone for their replies so far.
  6. Received this email from a gentleman today through Exeter site. Most of the names are familiar to me and have passed on info about Goog passing away but am stuck with Bill Andrews.-Only rider out of those named I cannot recall whose name doesnt jump out at me like the rest I have passed on a few internet links such as County Ground years etc he may like to look through including this one. Can anyone help on what happened to Bill Andrews to pass on to him.?? Many thanks in advance. I will compile all responses and email them back to the gentleman. John "I was a regular Monday night visitor from 1953 to 1956 with my parents. My hero in those days was, Jack Hart ( I think he was an Australian or New Zealander) and of course the then Track record holder Googie Hoskins, (I think that's how you spell it) "Bronco" Slade was the manager (I think). In the early to mid 1970s you had a National Hunt Jockey ride for you called Bill Andrews, he was either an Australian or New Zealander. What happened to him? As a former National Hunt jockey myself, I rode against him on many occasions. Anyway best of luck, look forward to seeing the Falcons once again after what will be a 52 year break! "
  7. Hark at you!!! Ok, so you can manage to slide a bike around a couple of corners with out falling off,but you have hardly reached the dizzy heights of A listers such as Paul Potts,Charley from Big Brother and The Honey Monster from Sugar Puffs cereal boxes. Only last week you were asking advice on another thread about which second hand van you could buy cheap One step at a time Matthew
  8. I get me and me mixed up at times and occassionally delete by mistake when should be editing. But hey thats life and lets not make a big deal out of it
  9. Amazing how fashion conscious young Mr Davis is by that picture, even changes his bracelets daily by the looks of it, as on Saturday he was wearing pink ones, and pointed it out!! Cant recall personally ever having on my checklist of what to take to Cardiff,"different bracelet for the day itself "--camera yes, tickets, yes, pen, yes (although buggered that up this year) but never bracelets
  10. Was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon catching up with people I hadn't seen for two years or more or never met before. After initial nerves and plucking up all my courage to ask Liontamer are you Liontamer after Craig said just go and ask him Dad!!-was pretty sure it was after meeting a couple of years ago, and then saying Hiya Dawn to False Dawn and not getting a slap I was a little more confident. The 4 hours just flew by. The absolute hilight for me came at about 5.30 when SCB said he was off somewhere else to have a debate with someone and were we coming? Then 5 mins later said it wasnt going to happen as his dad wasnt at all happy about it. Heard his Dad say to him -You're a ******* idiot you are -priceless ( I thought to meself is his dad talking to him on behalf of some forum members or what) -so thought it best to just toddle off to the stadium and leave them to it-didn't even say goodbye!!!! -Sorry Shawn Oi Davis-you never did get me the cheese sandwich you owe me-and Jotrez is my witness to that as was she who cannot be named (Trees ) for going to a GP who always said she never would almost stood next to her. Gutted I never got to meet Paulco.
  11. Good report in yesterday's Express and Echo-(local paper). Would imagine it is penned by Martin Downer but have only viewed it online. Here
  12. Steve (Shovlar-not birthday boy Hone) Your team has a skull and crossbones and named pirates. skull duggery, killing people and stealing belongings and plundering the high seas I trust you are sending Matt Ford a similiar message to drop the pirates bit for 2008. Poole Primroses maybe? no one can be offended by that surely Good to meet you again yesterday.
  13. I reckon they should get some big tall walking ants on stilts in or something similar next year The We love speedway bit was ok for the kids, trouble is you have people from 3-90 and over going--They are never gonna be able to please all the people all of the time. Have to say as I first feared Chas N Dave really did not work in any way whatsoever in a stadium that size. They are headlining at The Exmouth pavilion on 13th August-should suit them better but making a note in me diary not to have a 30 min jolly to Exmouth seaside that day. For anyone down in this area on hols on that date that liked them tickets are £16.50 and available to book online
  14. Awesome night. As we were walking out my lad said "Its weird,I was almost in tears when Bomber won." I said I know I was the same- Its called "so proud it makes you wanna cry mate. He said thats exactly it !! Still coming down off the ceiling today Absolutely brilliant Bomber-You made everyone of the Falcons fans so proud of you mate as you did the whole country. Bit different feeling from a cold bumpy wet Monday night in October at The County Ground a few years back I bet eh mate?
  15. Shazz Shall I email "Barry" again and ask if they are on in the interval?
  16. Not one offer as yet. If worst comes to the worst I will ask the gentleman if he will send it to me and arrange to meet up and swap cash for ticket at Cardiff myself on the day for anyone worried about being ripped off and postage times. Lets help this gentleman sell his useless ticket and make some money for Garry Stead. He did offer it to an elderly rider free of charge, who has never been to Cardiff before, and was racing in England before Ivan Mauger hoping he he would like the chance to attend but alas cannot because of ill health.
  17. An Exeter supporter has a £75 Cardiff Ticket for sale. He is open to offers and wants someone to make good use of it. All the money from the sale will be going to The Garry Stead Fund. This fan has found his wife has booked a surprise holiday for them both!!-How inconsiderate is that! Women!!!!!!!!--You dont book a surprise holiday Cardiff weekend-Greece or where ever The ticket is in Block M5 row 2. If anyone is genuinely interested in buying this ticket and prepared to offer a reasonable sum for it please Pm me ASAP and I will let you have the gentlemans' contact phone number. As I said whatever money he gets for the ticket will be going to the Garry Stead fund-He is not trying to get any of the cost of the ticket back for himself. What a great gesture.
  18. Received an email today to say ours had been despatched and should be with us within 2-3 days.
  19. Way to go Bomber. Brilliant. Hope your dad is looking down on you and proud as punch for you.
  20. Hark at you !!!! Didnt work for your Sky TV adverts you film star you- sent 20 emails asking them to pull you off the screen. If 20 emails asking for that dont work I hardly feel one asking for Chas N Dave to be replaced will have much effect Think about it. Love you really
  21. Fair play to this Barry chap though-agent I believe- it is now referred to as British Speedway GP Millennium Stadium on tour dates rather than Speedway Day RESULT. See- all it takes is one email to make a difference- even though people thought I was bonkers at the time http://www.chasndave.com/tour_dates.html
  22. Nope they aint playing in the afternoon on the concourse. Just had this email back from website after making enquiries. Hi They are playing before speedway in stadium Regards Barry And not a full stop or apostrophe in sight!!!! Ah well thats cleared that one up then. Thanks anyway Barry.
  23. Dodgy territory Kryten-you dont wanna have Shazzybird seeing that post. Was quite entertaining actually-Ever had a mad woman sat almost next you waving her arms and shouting GOLD into your eardrums every few seconds as she sings along??
  24. Get your Chas and Dave official "Gertcha Tshirts" on this link. A must have for June 30th. Its from their official site. Chas and Dave Tshirts Hang on--Maybe they are just playing on the concourse in the afternoon or something to keep everyone happy and add to the carnival atmosphere.--That would be a laugh. And another band or something will be announced in a couple weeks for inside the stadium??
