Good Friday 7.4.23 - Scunny vs Redcar
scunny1 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Drizzle for next 2 hours then dry. Sunny day tomorrow, so at the moment all will be good, bring your big coat its usually perishing! -
Really! Personally I find Mr Clarke very annoying with his totally biased opinions and snidey comments. We once made the mistake of standing in a place that Redcar supporters said "they always stood there" despite us being there 20 minutes before them. Probably not normal behaviour of Bears fans but a lasting impression on us and quite threatening. The announcer in the box just does the results, mostly the infield "Commentator" is the jack of all trades, Rob Godfrey himself. Our carpark guy is very friendly too, but since car parking is now free and included in the admission, we will have to find another public facing role for him. As an aside, can you get some pot holes filled and better exit lighting in the Redcar carpark please. I am not knocking Redcar Speedway and enjoy my away trips to Teesside, since both of us have fine tracks and good racing. The Bears are now our nearest club ( now Sheffield and Leicester have moved up) so now a "local " derby for us. As they say ,one man's meet is another man's poison, Let's just enjoy our racing and hope for an injury free season.

Manzares was mediocre and MacDonald was even worse, I wouldn't want either.
-
So what has happened to Zaine. Bad news for us at this late stage, who is still out there to replace him???
-
Probably either, in business cash is king-easier to keep from the tax man
-
Lambo was showing his off nearly a month ago.
-
So you and I and plenty of others, have been wearing Jake Allen, or Jordan Palin gear that they can promote, but the club itself can't be bothered!!!
-
I am with you with the PA system. It seems only Rob knows how the electrics in the announcer's box works. Rob himself need"s to invest in a sports mic that is protected from the wind, as soon as he starts walking around we can't hear him. PA system in the bar, for after meeting talk is also poor. Only the chosen" Inner Sanctum" have access to any merch-not that I am impressed with the ice hockey look in Sheffield colours that they are wearing!

In no particular order, but top teams so far look like:- Oxford Plymouth Redcar Scunthorpe
-
If you are a regular surely you have a Humber Tag for cheaper crossing and can also park outside on the Industrial estate opposite to save another pound!
-
We will always savour 2019 when we won 37-53 at Ashfield though.

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
scunny1 replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Plymouth total wrong too. -
With Jake Allen and Ryan Douglas yet to be confirmed(but nailed on ) there is no way we will be bottom .
-
Better riders than Lambert about, but he is liked by the "Inner circle gang", so he stays on." Firm fan fave" , yeah right.
-
Well, it doesn't look like the Chairman was part of that promotors group, looking at the bottom end of the Scorpions team.
-
Can we have massive numbers on front and back, so we know who is riding as our P.A.system is so crap.
-
Douglas. Allen and MPT works for me as heat leader trio.
-
At the last after race meeting in the club house, Anders Rowe when asked if he was coming back next year gave a very negative answer. Can't see him in Scorpion colours in 2023.
-
I will settle for MPT, a Worrall, TJ and as an outside bet, Ryan's mate Nick Morris
-
So, who is the ex Scunny rider coming back? Auty, Nielson, TJ, Worrall's, any more to guess???
-
Kemp is much better than the Thompson twins around the EWR. Keep Ryan, Jake and Zaine for starters and build around them. No Lambo please even if he is Rob and Dan's mate!
-
Personally, I have always had the view that team with most points wins, but the powers that be followed the football crowd and instigated the Playoffs. It is what it is, until the British Speedway hierarchy change the format. Hope you Diamonds come back to the league soon.
-
Why don't we just call the League Champions the team who get the most league points. Playoffs can just be a little tournament to keep interest in the top teams until season ends. Is that just too easy for all to comprehend?
