Think you maybe right, a big deficit to recover. Also depends which Craig Cook turns up. -

Our current away form and Redcar having Riss as a guest , in all probability Scorpions will get a stuffing. -
Berwick v Scunthorpe KO Cup 1/4 Final 1st Leg 27/04

Well done Bandits, sublime from Lawson, but a bit of a gate and go meeting. For us a lack lustre display, heat leaders need a kick up the backside. -

Mr Godfrey also signed as a raw youth, a future multiple World Champion, Mr Tai Woofinden. So a complete tool I think not! -
Plymouth v Scunny - KO Cup 2nd Leg
scunny1 replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Scorpions had never raced on the altered track before. They had a 31 point lead from the first leg. MPT even commented last week he would look after himself and not get too involved. Jake Allen was ill with tonsillitis and totally wiped out physically. Finally Scorpions raced at Redcar the night before, so had little chance to fettle their bikes and drive down to Plymouth ,some 385 miles away . However congrats to the Gladiators on your win and Ben's maximum. -
Redcar v Scunthorpe - 19/4/2024, BSN Series

How are the away fans supposed to know that, an announcement might have been good? I was already trying to avoid the muddy ruts and bushes getting out of the car park by then. Any chance it can be bladed and graded before my next visit? -

Well done Scorpions, a good team effort all round and another maximum for MPT. Nice to see Kyle finding his gating boots at last. Hope Wrighty is only battered and bruised after his awkward fall. Couple of issues, pity we were not allowed a lap of honour after heat 15, I am sure if the Bears won they would have been straight out there before any second half races. The carpark is a bomb site and needs sorting very quickly as well as the exit out. -
Yes, what he did was morally wrong and very offensive, but he always gave it 100% on a speedway bike.

12.4.2024 - Scunny vs Plymouth KOC

If they dredge the Humber , like they used to ,there would be no chance of flooding. As it is now, you can virtually walk over to Read's Island at low tide. -
Can we have, with some urgency on an improved P.A. system. Yesterday nobody was aware MPT had withdrawn and IRR was in place until his 3rd programmed ride. It is clear communication with Rob, announcer and DJ is sadly lacking and some people need extra training in the equipment. It is not all weather related, Rob's microphone has been suspect for long enough. It seems it does not help when he walks around and changes direction when speaking? Kevin Moore on centre field duties, was in my opinion ,very good at keeping everyone informed. Perhaps Rob should delegate some role and be helped out whilst doing track grading, watering, repairing tapes etc.

Scunthorpe Scorpions V Workington Comets 29/3/24
scunny1 replied to paul84's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ok, can't do anything about a heavy downpour that was forecast on several weather apps. The promotor was straight out after the rain stopped, actually driving the tanker sucking the water off, so he was being very proactive in trying to get the meeting on. If the call had gone out for 20 odd volunteers to help sweep off the rain water, I am sure they would have helped. Even our number 7 , young Harrison , was keen to sweep the start finishing area! What was a major failing, was keeping the crowd informed and entertained. Just playing the same tape over and over was plain lazy ( All aboard, all aboard...!) What is the point having an announcer in the box if they are unable to communicate with the crowd. Why no rider interviews to break the boredom- new team members, new female etc? From the demeanour of the team manager and Worky captain, on their track walk after sterling remedial work, it was obvious they had no desire to ride. Don't know what Babs Horley was saying to the riders, but personally I have seen worse tracks raced upon? The second shower sealed the event end and finally a decision was forced. To cap it all , the farce to get tickets stamped/ refunds needs to be addressed. Surely someone could direct the crowd to what was happening , which side to queue, what procedures etc. Maybe the tickets should be date stamped as they are being sold on entering the stadium, just a thought? I only had to travel 5 miles home, but did wish the Workington fan parked next to me, a safe journey home for his wasted time and money. As others have said not a good opener, we must do better all round. -

Weather can't make its mind up what to do, rain one minute ,then sun next. Every forecast site shows different weather? -
If its wet and dark you need wellies and a torch!
-
Riders will have 500cc Diesel engines.
-
So hoodies bought at back end of the season are now redundant. Suppose it will be like football kits and new version (or two) every season! Attis spend much greater amount on sponsorship of SUFC though.

1) Poole 2) Scunthorpe 3) Redcar 4) Glasgow 5) Berwick 6) Oxford 7) Workington 8) Edinburgh 9) Plymouth -
Would have liked Gilkes in the team, but it is what it is for this dumbed down league. Personally Mountain and Ablitt did not do enough to warrant re signing, but I hope they kick on in the new season and prove me wrong. If Lambo gets to number 1 ,super fan Scunny Dan will be ecstatic!

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

Good luck travelling to Scunthorpe, Oxford, Poole and Plymouth in 3 hours. -
Neither Mountain or Ablitt did enough to warrant a return. Gilkes would be a good addition.

Lives in Chesterfield ,very central and straight on the motorway network.
-
No gate price reduction then?
-
Whoever we decide it will still be an underwhelming team compared with last years.
-
Pickering would be awesome. Best away rider seen around the EWR.
-
Has Dougy committed to Poland yet and been offered a team spot ? If not ,then team plans would change drastically I guess.

On our attendances, not a chance of us racing Monday ,Wednesday or Thursday. First and foremost Rob is a business man and must see it as mistake moving up a league. The only positive is we get a local derby back against the Sheffield Tigers.
