  1. Not good enough from our number 5, he is going backwards this year.
  2. Well I predicted Ash to be Captain Birks again. I now predict David Howe will leave Scunthorpe before this season ends. Blatently took out his team mate two weeks running, not looking where he was going-hope he gave Ryan the 3 points money he robbed for that heat!.
  3. Weather update 2 miles from track, rain has stopped , drying wind and can see sunny clouds 20 miles away heading this way. Hopefully track is just well watered and perfect for 7.30 tapes up.
  4. Ok back to the match. For the Scorpions some superlatives to talk about- Thomas back from injury with a paid max- well done we have missed you. Ash, another paid max and untroubled by the Tigers- Give this man the Captain's job!!! Michael, back to what we know he can do. Josh, carrying an injury from Wednesday? Another excellent display from our number one. Lewis , gave up family commitments to compete and massive contribution. Ryan, at last looked a racer capable of mixing it,never have I heard so much cheering for a superb second place holding back Richard Hall's Tac Ride! David, the enigma? Not sure his heart is in it this year, injuries, crashes into team mates- my jury is still out . Tigers. It is clear they have serious team issues Steady and Wells were made to look pretty average. Hall and Haines who have done thousands of laps around the EWR looked dismal. Both reserves look like a spell in the National League would do them good as presently not up to it. Albin, does he actually get any Sheffield support? The lack of response to finding him a bike to ride when his packed up was a disgrace. Rob even told you all on the mic to get him a bike for God's sake. A massive shake up required, starting with Team Manager and two or three rider changes. Maybe the Scorps were just so good on the night? Maybe the Tigers were so very poor on the night? Or just maybe the Scorpions have finally looked like League Champions and worked for each other, where as the Tigers need some strong words and team ethics.
  5. Sunny clouds at the moment ,with hardly any wind. Track will be drying nicely, if it stays like this nice and grippy for the Scorpion and Tigers outside line blasters.
  6. Well done Bears on a solid win. Now onto the Scorpions. Thanks to Mr Doolan for being a worthy Guest. Well done Ash and Josh for keeping the fixture alive. Michael what is going wrong ,bikes seem to be a problem and need sorting fast. Lewis and Ryan not scoring enough points-tough on Lewis when he had to bail out when Wilko locked up right infront of him and looked like he was falling off. Ryan had 1 good race ,but seems loath to mix it and get amongst the opposition. We expect every Aussie to be ace but this one is just not doing it. I feel Rob Godfrey's pain from a man who is passionate about his team. How many other promotors spend hours working at the track, grade the track during matches, commentate during races, interview riders etc ??? Stick in there Rob (and Gail of course-Rob needs a cuddle tonight!!! ) the faithful know the rule book is a joke and Speedway Top Management break their own rules when they feel like it. We too, feel like we have been shafted by the BSPA, and home and away fans are let down by a system that should promote inclusion of riders to balance up a team for better entertainment. I do not mind being beaten by a strong team performing well, but when we are denied legitimate efforts to strengthen our team it is a bitter pill to swallow knowing we could have been so much more competitive. Injuries so far have ruined our season, no way will we catch up to even playoffs using RR and no strong reserves. It is clear we need to regroup lick our wounds and carry on. The team gels better when Ash is captain. David Howe is a good rider and loads of knowledge but Ashley is a born leader of a team and motivator wheras David( to me,looking from the outside at home and away matches) gets in his own zone and is not such a team player. We need changes, the promotion seem to be baulked by BSPA at every turn and the fans and management are duly frustrated because we have been spoilt by winning so much last season. Onwards with plan " c " it can only get better from now.
  7. Injuries continue to wreck our season. The only positives Josh and Ash showing some form and Michael improving. Local weather tomorrow looks pretty poor and can see my speedway fix being rained off
  8. Great return by the ex Scunny boys, had my doubts on this one from the off. This year nobody apart from Ash is riding to their potential and we look also rans this season so far. Well done Rebels see you on Friday hopefully, but can't see our pair doing much.
  9. In my humble opinion a home side should not be allowed a TR.If they are so far behind at home, they don't deserve an inflated chance to catch up and drastically affect a match.
  10. Two excellent guests, 3 ex Scorpions/Saints + Rene and Rusty, we could be struggling carrying our two reserves. Ryan and Josh need to step up to the mark to make a valuable contribution ,or points will be going back to Cumbria. Too close to call this one, maybe another last heat decider???
  11. Cannot carry two reserves, Bates is not up to this level yet, Tom Young would have scored many more points at home, time for changes at the bottom.
  12. I worry about our young Josh Bates at reserve as well, so him and Makinen will cancel each other out.
  13. Must have been the two Munchkins walking around singing something about a wicked witch being dead A good meeting with plenty of passing, but bit agrieved about letting the Diamonds back into it. Josh seemed to want to prove he is number one and wants to stay that way.Lewis Kerr looked well capable, Steve Worrall had a dreadful night on a track he knows so well- expect he will score a lot more at Brough Park. Jury still out on young Mr Bates, may be a step to far, too early and a good reserve can be crucial to a team. Sure Rob and Mr Peet are playing the long game, but I need convincing quick.
  14. Two miles away, dry but overcast, 10 degrees( heat wave) and no wind- perfect for speedway.
  15. 1st Michael Palm Toft - winning time of 57.79 2nd Joe Haines 3rd Ricky Wells Fozzie you beat me to the button by 3 seconds
  16. It is heartening to see nice words from the Somerset fans, you are a credit to your team. 30 laps of pure entertainment from the Rebels and the Scorpions ,unfortunatly someone had to miss out- best of luck for next season.
  17. Oh dear such a sad loser, have not heard such drivel from a female Worky fan for a least a day!
  18. Thats funny we seemed to have the PL Championship trophy in our hands last night. We all knew the format at the start of the season ,like it or not.
  19. You keep all the others, we won the league nobody remembers the rest
  20. You had to be there to appreciate it was not gate and go at all-newcomers would have loved the drama!!!! Well done to both teams , 30 nail biting heats and down to a last heat clincher-classic play off again.
  21. Overcast but drying at the moment, weather is coming from your direction so hopefully dry York way?
