  1. If the M181 is still closed the A18 runs parallel to the M180 and will bring you out at the end of the M181 i.e. Next to Tesco Extra. Alternative is to go past M181 junction and follow Scunthorpe East , but this is a longer route.
  2. Would have had a larger audience if it was on the club website, not everyone is on Farcebook. Have we not got a Press Officer?
  3. What time is Press and practice, nothing on Socials, or website???
  4. There is usually a massive gap, with riders twiddling their thumbs mid season and the weather is more likely to be favourable too.
  5. It seems nobody wants to put their head above the parapet and take on the chairman's job, including your Promotor. I think you will find current chairman runs a speedway club that does not go beyond its financial commitments. He also runs a thriving garage business. Lastly the back end of Lincolnshire must be over the border, since the EWR is in a completely different county of North Lincolnshire.
  6. Luke has done exceptionally well in his first Championship season. I just hope he is not pushed too hard, (same as Hagon) Number 2 is a massive move up from reserve and not an easy position to ride at all. Good luck to him, steady progress is quite acceptable at this early stage of his career.
  7. The infield announcer has been Kevin Moore for nearly all of the season instead of Rob. Kevin is very knowledgeable , leaving Rob to concentrate more on track grading, watering etc.
  8. MPT has reportedly said on podcast at the weekend, he is not in Scorpion team for 2025.
  9. I was under the impression the residents around Glasgow speedway are against more track time for riders, due to noise and dust problems?
  10. Pirates with 4 big hitters, think we might struggle with R/R. Our reserves should be stronger , but Ablitt against the Pirates often has a shocker.
  11. My Fantasy teams got slaughtered by rain offs and injuries. My worst season ever.😁
  12. Luke Harrison signed a 3 year contract with the Scorpions last year, according to Mr Godfrey, when he introduced him to the team.
  13. Rob Godfrey indicated in the bar after the meeting that he expected Kemp's scores to be deleted from the match result- not that it matters over the two legs.
  14. Confirmed by Rob Godfrey tonight. Note Scorpions home leg is a Sunday meeting at 5.30pm and not our usual start time, or day.
  15. Apparently a problem with Drew Kemp guesting, as he rode for someone else in the competition??? His score will be removed, but does not affect the result outcome. MPT was seen to be limping very heavily tonight and could not commit to whether he would be fit for next Sunday or not. Nobody was going to beat Josh Pickering tonight, but Young Luke Harrison fended him off for 3 and a half laps. Well done Luke, his best meeting so far in his first year as a Scorpion.
  16. Agree ,we have missed a big hitter like Pickering in heats 13 and 15. The curse of the number 1 position (apart from Douglas ) has always been a problem for us to maintain.
  17. I think club comes first, as they pay the wages. Individual meetings should come after team events are complete
  18. Scorpions with Normal 1 to 7, as MPT's leg injury now ok. Monarchs using the Thompson twins as guests making them stronger around the EWR. We all know how well Picko goes around are track, so should be an entertaining evening. Hoping for a Scorpion convincing win, to extend our season a little longer.
  19. 1 and 5 heat leaders, 3 and 4 the powerhouse, 2 the unlucky one, 6 and 7 reserves😁
  20. I only had a 400 mile round trip, but well done to you on your commitment to visiting away tracks. Superfan of the year, safe journey back hopefully.
  21. Congrats to the Pirates , a job well done and some classy riders. First visit to Northside and viewing as a neutral. Good viewing ,a bit strange spectators split in two halves, but a sterling job in setting up the track. The racing itself was mostly from the gate and outcome settled prior to 3rd bend with riders well strung out. The track itself stood up to the morning weather, but only in the latter heats did anyone venture from the inside line around the bends. Apart from the track announcer, the interviews were inaudible to people in the back straight stand. Hopefully the sparse crowd will improve and the promotion goes from strength to strength, well done. p.s. Lbw were you sitting in the back straight stand with the Lawson hoodie on?
