I think it is reasonable to assume both Sky and the Speedway authorities know something, but neither prepared to tell us. Does not inspire me to give my money to either.

Just going slightly off topic, but looking at the fixtures we have some "open" and some "reserved" fixtures. Can some one tell me what is the difference between open and reserved.

Hopefully we will not have to worry about the quality of signings either.

Do not think they are helping themselves. I phoned Sky to cancel the sports package some time ago, partly because it seemed at the time speedway would be dropped. If they are covering why not announce it and try not to lose more customers.

Sheffield Eagles recently has a meet and greet at Owlerton. I have just been on their forum and copied the following; "Main things to come out of the evening, we have a 400-seater stand which we will hopefully be able to put up on the 'back straight' side of the ground, all games will be on a Sunday afternoon with a probable 2pm kick off (unless we're on premier)." As this has come from a forum it is not official, however, Assuming Tigers do run, seems Sunday's will now be out of the question. Presumably also this stand could be used for "big matches" such as PLRC

I presume teams will ride 3 opponents twice and the other 8 once.

On Sheffield Speedway website home page now says " see you all again in 2014". Sounds promising

The Lights for the centre green have been removed, so any game finishing near or after sundown could have a problem. There is a concrete strip alongside the home straight which would mean the pitch is too narrow. I believe I heard somewhere they are looking at putting in a number of seats for rugby league spectators. Not sure where these would go. Hope it is not on the home straight as that is where I like to stand for speedway.

So what happens if you put all seven riders on a two year deal, they improve their averages, and are then above the points limit?
