  1. Thursday for me. If changed to Sunday would go to about 25% of the matches only. Where as in the last 20 years, missed a total of 2 matches. Do the management want to lose fans who only miss 1 match every 10 years? Would like Steady back though. Any possibility of him doubling up with another Elite team.
  2. If Sheffield wanted to change race day to Sunday, are other local tracks allowed to object if they think it would affect their attendance? If so would have thought Buxton would not be too happy about this. How many Sunday's could they run, would Stock Cars take priority on dates they wanted?
  3. If they have lost fans to Redcar changing race nights would not automatically bring them back. They may not have enough time money or deisre to go to both
  4. Why not stage it Wednesday 24 October at Owlerton?? A neutral venue is hardly going to produce much income.
  5. Copied from local paper website; Tigers season could be over Published on Wednesday 17 October 2012 15:23 TIGERS appear to have raced their last home meeting of the season. The postponement of last Thursday’s Premier Challenge Trophy clash with Ipswich has left the club with a lack of alternative dates as the Witches are also a Thursday night club. And club owner Neil Machin is far from satisfied with the situation. “It is an impossible situation,” he said. “We can’t stage the meeting on a Thursday because that’s Ipswich’s race night as well and our alternative race day, Sunday, is a non-starter because there are events planned for the next three weeks. “But we wouldn’t have been in this mess had the three northern tracks not taken it upon themselves to be grouped together. It was never a case of the six tracks being put together on a northern and southern basis, that was never agreed. I’ve asked the British Speedway Promoters’ Association to tell us who made the decision and they can’t answer. “It would make sense to have the groups on a regional basis and normally there’d be no problem with that - but had we been able to discuss the matter then it would have been made clear that grouping Ipswich, who have so many commitments, with another Thursday track would have been stupid.”
  6. Just a pity the Sheffield Management did not have the courtesy to tell the fans, who may be waiting for this info, via the website. Unfortunately, this now seems typical of them. I think they need to remember that these are the people who pay £300.00 season ticket/£15.00 weekly admission money.
  7. Hoggy said on Sunday they were trying to fix a date, and to keep checking the website.
  8. Just a little drizzle Never suggested people should not have to pay to watch this.
  9. Why not run the match straight after PLRC. May get lots of the neutrals to watch as already at Owlerton.
  10. Just as the rain on the original PLRC date was early, today's could be late. With Ipswich riding at home next Thurday any guesses as to when it will be staged?
  11. In case anyone thinking of attending, this match is off.
  12. Update from Sheffield website as follows: SHEFFIELD Speedway are keen to stress tonight’s Premier League clash with Berwick goes ahead as scheduled (7.45pm). Yesterday’s inclement conditions have caused no problems with track preparation, and further showers cleared by late morning today giving way to a dry afternoon. Indeed, the effect of the weather today so far has been to help create track conditions in line with the recent fixture against Leicester which saw some of the fastest times of the season recorded. One man who starred on that occasion was Lasse Bjerre, who scored a maximum, and the exciting Danish youngster has been booked to guest by tonight’s visitors. Sheffield are boosted by having No.1 Pepe Franc back from injury, whilst reserve Chris Schramm continues in the team after accepting an offer of machinery from ex-Tiger Chris Mills, following recent expensive blow-ups. Weather has been OK since that update so should be on
  13. Not sure R/R is a good idea for double header, possibly too may rides each, also need to get on with meeting due to curfew. Would also leave team vulnerable should any rider need to pull out for any reason.
  14. Going off topic slightly, but does anyone know Buxton track's post code, as satnav not recognising the track address. Thanks
  15. I think Hoggy said nornal admissiom prices, two NL matches for the price of a PL.
  16. Noticed, Sheffield's home NL fixtures still not on their fixture page, the BSPA webpage seem to have changed the 26 May fixture back to open, and the Scunny webpage has NL fixtures for 26 May and 11 August, but both are TBC. Does anyone know (even the promoters??) when or of these fixtures are taking place? A little clarification would help.
