I believe that under current rules, if he signed for Swindon, as their asset, they would have first choice on his services, and being a Thursday track, would mean his value to Sheffield very limited. Would want to ensure he is not in Swindon's plans before signing him for 2015

In today's star, still says match 11 September 2014 is penultimate match, and apparantly, James Sarjeant is replacing Anders Melgren. Has Melgren ever ridden for Berwick this year? Glad I do not pay for the rubbish they write.

Just read on website they do intend to race all league fixtures, and seem to be looking at staging another two besides. Probably just newspaper thinking "never let the truth get in the way of a story" Sadly looks like Andre will not be riding again this year. Thanks for all your efforts this year Andre.

Would be very disappointed if our season ends September 18th. I note according to this forum that Workington may have scrapped two fixtures. I was also at the Scunthorpe match on 31 August. Listening to their announcer, it would seem that there was little interest in staging their outstanding home fixture against Sheffield.

According to a newspaper article, Ben Wilson is desperate that Sheffield should win their two remaining home matches. As far as I am aware we have Berwick 11 September, Plymouth 11 September, and Edinburgh with no date set as yet. Does this mean the Edinburgh match will not take place? If so why not? I also remember a statement from the promotion stating their intention to run 25 matches, irrespective of how we progressed in each competition. Would be interested to see what does happen.

If he (Covatti) is Agrentinian champ and rode for Italy in world cup, what nationality is he?
-
Any idea when? Would be nice to know to make sure do not arrange something else for that date.

Why are Sheffield booking guests for future matches which clash with the World Cup?. Team GB are not guaranteed to progress in this competition, and as far as I am aware, if they do, they are not bound to keep the same team. PS anyone heard if there will be a match at Owlerton on 31 July, or when we race Plymouth at home?.

Josh Bates out due to hand injury. Was this incurred during a crash on Monday, or when he decided to thump the wall? Lee Payne deputises, best wishes to him. -

Is Josh Bates riding this match?. Heard he is missing from his elite team tonight with a hand injury (don't try thumping brick walls). Wonder who will be replacing him if he is out. -

Something Got To Change (sheffield)

Thanks for the info. I do realise making team changes can be difficult (but having seen indications from management they were considering a change thought an announcement would be made). Regarding the league fixtures, do we not just have to arrange a match with Plymouth, and a second match with Workington? Surprised we did not use last Thursday, nice day in July. As there are two Thursdays free, before late September and before (I presume) the cut off date for play off qualification dates, would have thought using these two dates would be the solution. As far as I can see, no opposition rider would be riding for an elite or National league team on those dates. The promoters did say they were looking to stage around 25 matches in the season. With play off qualification looking, unlikely would have though best to get matches in now rather than staging "meaningless" matches at end of season when weather could be "unfortunate" -

Anybody out there got any idea what this post means?. Are we about to make a signing? If so who would it be? Who would make way? Noticed Anders Melgren riding at weekend. Have Scunny made a final decision about possibly re-declaring team with him in it? Believe we also have two league home fixtures to re-arrange. Would be nice to hear something about what is going on about this. Last news item on website about fixtures was June 2nd, 6 weeks ago. -

One point yesterday from Simon Nielsen, but paid 14 Sunday guesting for Newcastle. According to his Sheffield average it would take him more than 3 meetings to get paid 14 for Sheffield. Why can't he do it for us? -

New averages out, and Sheffield total is 39.44. Scope to do something there. -

Anyone any idea what is happening at Owlerton 10 July. A MDL match per fixtures bit only open for first team. Unlikely to be stand alone MDL match, so would have thought something arranged by now. -
Depends if anyone turns up. Is the match on 3 July, and not 02/07 as per thread header?

Implied in local paper two changes to be made when new averages come out (which should be soon). Should ensure best efforts in the Peterborough match -
Looks like it will be on Sky, nothing to do with Proctor's availability

According the 2014 Green sheet averages on Sheffield website, the current team total is 38.45, giving us approximately 4 points to make up. If Sheffield make a good change, and the under performing riders start to pull their weight, could be awesome team
