  1. Now seems unlikely that Shanes will be coming to Sheffield. Just looked at NL averages, and there does not appear to be too many options, who could get a few decent points at Championship level. Just hope JPB can be persuaded back. I think given time he can change his fortunes around. Also think it would be good for him to have a team manager, like Stead, who can pass on good advice to him. Speaking personally, I would be grateful if the Sheffield promoters, gave us some idea about when the outstanding fixtures to be arranged may be taking place. Seem quick to make the call off, but now nearly 10 weeks since the Edinburgh match called off, and still nothing announced. I believe we now have 3 outstanding, Ipswich, cup, and Newcastle and Edinburgh league. Keep hearing about the advantages of early call off, but are there not equally, good reasons, to get them re-arranged quickly (before fans may have decided to do something else on that date). I have just noticed today that the reserved date of 6 July 2017, has been removed from the fixtures. Wonder what it was reserved for, if not to stage a match rained off, or an extra fixture due to cup progression. A bit of goodwill in letting us know would be appreciated.
  2. Actually, per the website it is £2.00 more when it is a championship, national league double header. Most of the double header's do not involve National League teams, as they did in the past. Probably still not too bad value for the extra £2.00 if you are staying, but if not, increased admission, for nothing extra.
  3. Now just seen websites for both teams. Scunny have Chris Widman listed as their number 7, Sheffield say it is David Wallinger. Not sure why they differ. Is David still unfit after Sunday's crash? Thanks Rob, was typing post before your answer came up.
  4. Anyone know who the number 7's are this Thursday?
  5. Not sure if stock car promoters have any obligations, or if they do, how much effort they put in to carrying them out, but I am certain it is not to the satisfaction of the speedway promoters. I do know that there was a previous occasion when a speedway match was called off, purely due to stock car damage. Think it was a match V Scunny, September 2008. Weather has been fine up to the Thursday so fans shocked when a post-ponement was announced, but stock cars had done so much damage and track staff unable to make track safe by Thursday. Seems stock car drivers care very little about the damage they do. Was at a meeting when drivers deliberately went on to the centre green, and started doing damage. The announcer made repeated, polite, pleas for them not to do this, as, at the time, a local football team used the centre green as their pitch for their home games. Seems the were either too stupid to be able to understand simple English, or just too pig ignorant to consider anyone other than themselves, as they just kept driving over the centre green whenever it suited them. I have now decided not to go to anymore stock car meetings, as I am no longer prepared to let them have any of my money. Perhaps other speedway fans (if they do go to stock cars) should consider the same. .
  6. Stoneman withdrew from tonight's NL match.
  7. Checked BBC weather forecast at 9.30 AM when called off, and did not seem too bad. Lets remember that a weather forecast, is a forecast, not a guarantee. Also noticed that no match preview had gone on Tigers website and no mention of who would be guest at number 7 (can anyone tell me?). Makes me wonder how much the promotion wanted this match on tonight. Disappointed as looks a decent night tonight. Hope it is not re-arranged on some non Thursday when I have arranged something else. Well lets start the long wait for a re-arranged date.
  8. Does seem like they are quick to call it off but slow to re arrange. Still no date for the match called off six weeks ago.
  9. Or just bring JPB in as a guest, assuming he is willing.
  10. In case any Newcastle fans thinking of coming to Sheffield tonight. the match is off.
  11. Thanks for the info. As much advance warning re any home match is appreciated. Was intending going to Scunny on this date.
  12. Green peper that's not to be sneezed at. Seriously would it not be an idea to call them "excel" averages. I presume they are computerized by now.
  13. Why are they called "Green Sheet" averages?
  14. Josh Bailey not riding. Jack Parkinson Blackburn will be the guest.
  15. Thanks, was aware of that change, but still need to fit in an extra fixture against Edinburgh. Was just enquiring, as last year, when they swapped a match to Wednesday, only found out by co-incidence (almost as though they did not want anyone to know at first). Just thought there may be some information out there, I had not found out about. Could be another fixture to arrange if we beat Edinburgh by 5 or more next week.
  16. Hi, has anyone heard anything about when the two postponed fixtures will be re-staged?. I know the Ipswich fixture could be difficult, due to them having a lot of Thursday fixtures, but it is now nearly a month since the Edinburgh match was off. Any info will be appreciated.
  17. Just wondered about Scunny's MDL team. Didn't Sam Chapman ride for Plymouth in the Premier League two years ago? . Would not have thought a rider could drop down from Premier League to MDL.
  18. Yes and he won the race. Was in races at previous meetings, but did not win them.
  19. Just checked BBC weather forecast. Currently has only light rain between 8 and 9 pm.
  20. Hardly been any rain so far today. Any news on re staging date?
  21. According to Scunthorpe website. Tom Perry replacing Wallner
  22. Read in another section of the forum that it is Redcar
