How about a 10 week Premier League season?
RS50 replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
2018 fixtures called off because of football world cup. 2019 fixture called off due to that Liverpool Tottenham match. Presume England will be in next year's football European cup. -

10 week season? How will they fit in all the matches when they have loads of fixtures are post poned because football is on the telly??? -
Maybe because he was born in the year Brian Adams released Summer of 69.
-
Another motorcycle racer (James Whitham) who had the same number said he originally chose it because he fell off a lot and the number appears the same upside down.
-
The numbers aren't unique. I believe Tommy Bridewell is a number 46 motorcycle racer. Obviously not the most famous one.

Is Woffy confirmed as a GP rider next year? -
Not very nice, saying they smell.

I am sure I went to them all, as well as a few at Scunthorpe and Buxton. Will have also watched some on television. -

Fair point, but I believe that one of the reasons riders want to double up is the ever reducing number of fixtures, and therefore income, of riding for 1 club only. -

Seems a case of being better at creating problems than solutions. -
Didn't he ride for Wolverhampton? Or was that James Bond?

Better than doing all over the fans who paid to see the CLRC. -

Why is so difficult to fit in so many meetings?. I just looked at Sheffield archives section for 2006. They had 33 matches at Owlerton that year. -
That's probably as much as he earned in the recent CLRC.

The driving on the centre green I am referring to was repeated and deliberate despite repeated requests and a reasoned explanation that it was harming the surface for other users. I also seriously doubt that, in rented stadiums, landlords do track preparation.

Take it you mean the price of admission not an increase in number of people admitted ? -
Probably because of the damage they do. A Thursday speedway match at Sheffield once had to be called off due to the state track was left in after stock cars previous Sunday. Would not occur to them to return it to it's previous state. Also remember stock cars running on centre green at Owlerton despite repeated requests not to do so as it was used by a local football team. Clearly have no consideration for others.

Per retro speedway 84 venues shut in 70 years.

Cricket scenario simply explained. If teams draw they get 5 points. However unlike any other sport a draw does not mean both sides finished equally. It means they did not finish at all. In cricket if you finish equally it is a tie, unlike snooker where a tie is what the players wear round their neck. -

Perhaps speedway should follow golf and make the lowest scorer the winner. -

And in tennis if you win the first rally you get 15 points, if you win the second you get a further 15, making your score 30, but win the third rally and it's only worth another 10. Anyone explain that?
