The reason given for the original postponement was stadium unavailability. However I do believe that this date did coincide with Nigel's funeral.

I believe the curfew at Sheffield was brought in, after stock cars once ran until around 11pm, and local residents complained.

How about starting at the advertised time of 7.30 (not the actual time of 7.50). An extra twenty minutes could have seen the meeting fully concluded.

Suspected broken wrist is what i heard. Stated that Cook is doubtful for his Tuesday championship match. Presume guest for Allen r/r for Cook.

Craig Cook and Jake Allen must be doubtful for this one. Broc Nicol replaces Barker for Ipswich. Hope Batchelor doesn't decide he can ride Sheffield after last year's disappointment.

Not bought a programme for decades. Used to get a free racecard, while Neil Machin ran Sheffield. Not prepared to pay for a programme. If promoters want more money from me, put on more matches.

I suspected that they have been keeping the schedule secret for some time. I guessed it was likely that Sheffield v Ipswich would be on Eurosport, as soon as the fixtures were published (it was Sheffield's only Monday home match at the time). Any reason for the secrecy?

Appreciate the Nigel Pearson situation, but the official story on the website only mentioned stadium availability.

And on the subject of Tigers v Kings Lynn, the home league fixture , due to be raced on 12th May, but called off due to stadium unavailable ( why wasn't this checked prior to fixtures being agreed), still not re arranged, over 7 weeks after the call off. Why so long?

But as so few kids bother to come to speedway, why worry about them.
