Sullivan Testimonial
crazysue replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Me and the kids like the backstraight as then they can play football, roll down the hill and generally run around without annoying everyone else.....plus it great fun when the adults start rolling down the hill too One word of warning though, it gets blooming chilly there(back straight) and there is no seating, so extra layers and a couple of chairs come in handy. Looks like I have to go now, I made the mistake of telling my youngest that Hans was riding and that's it, he says we are going. -

If Matt is going to be anything like he was in Italy, as soon as he sits down he will be peddle binning it! That lad likes his sleep -

Could always do what Chivs did in Italy and bet my son that he couldn't keep quiet for the journey back to the airport!! Worked a treat and it was the most peaceful journey we had while we were there. -
Although Wembley is much closer to where I live, I agree with Steve Shovlar (my god, the poor man will wonder what he has done, all these people agreeing with him!). The millenium stadium and Cardiff, make the British GP. As others have said, plenty of bars, easy parking, hotels etc and a real party atmosphere. Can you imagine if it was held at Wembley, I don't think the police would be as easy going as they are at Cardiff. No, my vote would be for it to stay where it is, a great stadium and a great City.

World Cup To Be Staged At Reading
crazysue replied to scabby3's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Now that sounds a good idea.....but can I have a cup of tea instead of coffee Mylor, its not just the miles but the actual time it takes to get there. Kings Lynn is only about 60 miles away from me (I'm not in Ipswich but slightly further out in the sticks) but it is driving time equal to that of getting to Coventry (and blooming horrible roads to go with it!!). Might be a little more palatable now I have that offer from Joanne though!!! -

Fairy4eva....on the routeplanner Reading is actually closer but with the hassle of Heathrow airport and the M25 in reality would take longer to get to than the very easy and almost no hassle Coventry....plus I like Coventry, I know my way there!! Plus I hate the M25 after a lorry decided it wanted my lane the day before Scott Nicholls testimonial and bashed into my car -

Damn....miles and miles away again!! Would have much preferred Coventry, Peterborough or as Steve Hone said....Kings Lynn (even though I have said I will never drive there again after the hassle of last year). Must admit, with all the waiting around in the queue we did for the infamous World Cup at Poole (The red light saga), we never got to appreciate the sea front or any of the surroundings, just the bloody car park! -
Looks like it could be a forum diet......I need to go on a strict diet after Christmas too!!

Gb Get Speedway Wc Final 2006!
crazysue replied to Brightonbob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Or you could get the same problems as us which was to queue for over 4 hours and be near the front of the queue and then because the queue had become so long that the ones at the back were let in a different way......by the time we got in (and remember we were very near the front of the queue, about 20 people in front of us) there was no where you could get a good view. I was not impressed. -
Gb Get Speedway Wc Final 2006!
crazysue replied to Brightonbob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well much as I like Dorset I hope it is not held at Poole because unless you are in the front row standing you aint got a hope in hell of seeing what is happening on the track. I would much prefer Peterborough, nice and easy to get too, very large space and a nice grassy bank so plenty can see what is going on. -
Did we? Well I was there and I didn't see it....on the walk back to the hotel the main topic of convo was not what a rider had done but how GB had thrown it away. It was with complete shock and disbelief that I read the forum when I got back to the hotel. The story was the same with the rest of us staying at the same hotel, we had seen nothing wrong....and anyway, Scott gated last and I said before they even reached the first corner that we had lost.
