  1. Hmm, bet if we did the same they would be on our backs in 2 seconds flat! Suppose in a way though it means we are doing something right to have our stuff used by the 'big boys' and that we have been noticed.
  2. Oohh Lunchy you made my day when you rang me at the end, what a shock that was (in a nice way), firstly to get a call from Australia and secondly your voice was not what I expected at all!
  3. Not sure....will see if I can get a reply from Lunchy but he may be making up for lost time and downing some tinnies! Must say a huge thanks to Lunchy though, loved the thrill of getting texts and phone calls from Australia (yeah sad life when you get excited about thing like that) and hope to get the chance to update more meetings live over our winter (hint hint ) Edit Dore fell in his 2nd ride but rode in the re-run. He didn't ride after that, may have had minor injury but nothing announced over the PA

Re-run Congratulations Cam!! ************************* Comments: Teams to be confirmed. This will start at approx 9am British time.... Chris Holder is at the track but not riding, his machinery is still held up at customs. Apparently has declined offers of a borrowed bike. Rider presentation has been done but now there is a problem with the tapes! Lunchy comments at the interval, Masters impressive in heats 9 to 11, all terrific close battles for first. North is alert and chirpy, not sure if he has any structural damage.
  5. Hope you've set the alarm clock Sue! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep I did although I looked at it all confused when it went off, almost hit the snooze button until I realised that I really had to get up!
  6. Updates on the Victoria State Title will be available Here
  7. Well Lunchy has said meeting will probably start around 9am our time but it all depends on the setting sun! I will probably get online from around 8 am just in case armed with a very strong cup of tea.
  8. Along with the sites already quoted to you, Speedway Updates also have live results from Mildura (Victoria State Finals) on Saturday ..... I have offered to be up at the crack of dawn (ok maybe not as early as that, but pretty blooming early on a Saturday morning!) to take texts direct from Australia. Link to the site is www.speedwayupdates.co.uk although I haven't as yet set the thread up.

  10. Blimey does this mean I could actually get to meet Christophers dad?
  11. Well I may have a booking for a friend but only because he does not possess a debit/credit card of his own (doesn't trust the things). I decided this year to take a leaf out of others books and booked a few rooms at the first whiff of a date and just hoped for the best...luckily the whiff was correct and I cancelled my surplus room at the earliest opportunity (the night of the announcement, actually within 10 minutes of the annoucement). I agree though about others holding rooms, who knows, I may have been able to get a decent room closer to the action and where other BSF members are if there had not been block booking but hey ho that is life and to be honest, I am quite looking forward to being in a posh suite of rooms even if the hotel is on the outskirts of Cardiff and needing a taxi in.....although I can always swap with my friend and he and his partner have the suite and I have his room at the Holiday Inn (Nah, think I will stick to my suite, the luxury and the free drinks, breakfast etc etc)
  12. Actually I have one room (well a suite anyway) booked for me and my son at the Copthorne, and a room at the Holiday Inn for a friend and his girlfriend (he doesn't have a debit card so he is giving me the money direct) . The other room I had booked (an executive room at the Copthorne) was cancelled on the night of the GP announcement. So no spare rooms being held onto here I am afraid.
  13. I would have loved to have gone to this but alas with kids, their school etc, it was just not possible.....maybe next year.
  14. Hate to say this but it's a quarter mile from the airport and 10 miles from the city centre according to their info.
  15. I tried for the lodge a couple of weeks back but no rooms were available....shame really, it sounded like it could be fun!
  16. It's a gorgeous hotel and you can still get a suite for £127. Easy to get to from the motorway too!
  17. Still rooms at the Copthorne Jay.....link is in one of my previous posts
  18. The Copthorne isn't either, it's approx 4 miles from the stadium but the hotel does provide a transfer to and from the stadium for a modest cost.....think it's £5 a person which works out the same as a taxi to get from the hotel to the stadium (if there is 2 in your party) but saves a hell of a lot on the way back!
  19. Still availability at the Copthorne Cardiff.....link http://www.millenniumhotels.com/ and select Cardiff
  20. Now I wonder if I can persuade someone to have my kids that weekend.....it's only 2 days after my birthday!
  21. A room booked at the Holiday Inn right near the stadium plus a suite (booked just in case the holiday inn do their usual and rack up the price) at the Copthorne.
  22. Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm. Thanks
  23. Damn and blast! Was hoping for a GP a week later, then I could have gone!
