Yep, sod's law is well and truly in operation!

Eh? Sod's law says that the Ipswich leg will be held on the 17th, just like the semi final leg was held on Saturday.....when I absolutely couldn't be there. That said, any Saturday is a no no for me as that is a work night and to get a Saturday night off is almost impossible and only with several months notice, which is why the original dates worked well for me as no Saturday and away from a planned for the last year day out on the 17th.

I am absolutely hoping not as I am already elsewhere on the Thursday!

Meeting off according to the BSPA site, restaging Monday 7th October.

In 2015 (the last Cardiff I attended), I had two people with me who don't attend speedway every week. One was because at the time he was at uni but also because he fell out of going when he had to start paying a full adult entry cost when he was still in his GCSE years and that was unaffordable week on week. The other was because he struggled to cope with normal meetings due to his autism but somehow (could be the extra space a wheelchair and carer bay allowed), could cope better with the GP set up. If I do go next year, it will probably be with the above two people plus one other who also does not attend week on week for the same reason as the first non attendee and hasn't done since they turned 16 (23 next month)....cost week on week.

This may mark me as not a proper speedway fan but it's the buzz, the social side, the atmosphere that I mainly go for...I know the racing is more than likely not going to be the best due to it being a temporary track so if it's not, it is no surprise and if the racing does turn out to be good....bonus! Plus the fact I don't get out much, so any day out is a momentous occasion to be celebrated

Cardiff brought me back to speedway after a near 10 year break. I just happened one night to be flicking through the channels and noticed speedway was on, not the speedway I remembered from the early 90s but speedway on steroids in a big stadia and on the telly...it ignited my interest enough for me to then visit Poole speedway (twice) whilst away on holiday that year, a couple of meetings when I returned home and return to speedway properly the following season at my local track and of course, my first attendance at Cardiff. Yes, I had already been a speedway fan but I had had a complete break away from the sport, I hadn't been watching it on the television or keeping up with any news etc for the previous 9 nears before I happened upon that coverage (although it was hard to miss our triple in 98 as it was plastered all over our local papers). I haven't been to Cardiff since 2015, life, uni pick ups and holidays have got in the way but I am trying everything I can to get there next year as part of my special birthday celebrations. It takes a little more organisation now because I have the wheelchair but I can be a stubborn mare when I want to be and I am absolutely determined I will make it there for 2020.
