Blimey, I actually agree with Snackette! I said before the season started that I would be happy with a mid table finish as although we looked to have a decent team on paper, speedway is not run on paper and injuries, a riders loss of form etc all play a part. Now must go lay down in a darkened room from the shock of agreeing with Snacky.....

Lovey - thanks for putting all the rules and regs up, saves me texting the whole blooming lot through later!

I still remember my first 16 lapper back in 1989 ish, the experience of seeing 8 bikes going into the first corner at pretty much the same time was aweinspiring and eek at the same time. There is a certain excitement just prior to the start of the 16 lap final, I still get butterflies in my tummy as the seconds count down and the thrill I still feel when the tapes go up is just amazing, there is nothing else like it and to me, is the perfect finisher of the season. Can't wait until tonight! Really, really looking forward to it.

At 4am, I think I will be having problems seeing the bikes on the track let alone people in the stadium! But, if I am up for it, I will have a go at spotting you.....can you lend me some matchsticks please?

Yep! The time of the Aussie meetings (in UK time) is just about ok and it would have been great if this GP could have had a similar start time but restrictions are restrictions and there is nothing that can be done with that for very understandable reasons. You never know, I could still be watching it if it falls on one of my all nighters for study, or on one of my "I can't blooming sleep" nights.

This is going to be an absolute begger to cover on Updates...can't see many updaters queuing up to update it (before anyone says it, I won't be!) It's bad enough getting up at stupid o clock for F1, not sure I would do it for speedway especially bearing in mind I haven't been exactly watching coverage at normal times this season (tending to watch the latter heats). But that is just me, F1 has always been my first love in motor sports.

That is the thing though, I watch speedway and not football, so couldn't give two hoots what is charged for a football match. I use a cinema comparison, I can get the four of us into the cinema for £15, if you include drinks and meals (burger and chips sort), it is just a tad over £30 for sometimes 3 hours entertainment. I think the fuss is that for a family to go (as in more grown up children), it would cost an absolute fortune on top of fuel costs to get there....not that the cost stopped me, I just couldn't be bothered plus it is my mum's birthday today (oh and the little matter that I completely forgot it was on!) My winter is not completely without speedway, I have the Aussie champs to keep me busy plus any off season meetings being held here but by goodness do I look forward to the end of October (especially this year).....and then start willing March to come by Feb.
