well done AJ+ tomaz wot a meeting
crazysue replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wow, what an excellent meeting, my parents bought my eldest son home halfway through and we virtually ignored them (after they had been greeted by a wall of noise from us shouting at the telly). We were so wrapped up in what was happening that we forgot the children were watching the telly upstairs in the bedroom and not in bed asleep as they should have been....they had a bit of a late night. AJ was awesome, how on earth did he find the room? How on earth did he stay on the bike when he reared up and hit the air fence....and still take the win. Gollob was still as stylish as usual and it's british speedway loss that he doesn't ride over here all the time. I also think Topinka did well (oh how I shouted when he was riding) All in all an excellent meeting and a great advert for our sport (apart from the joker in the last heat)...just hope the final is half as good, so glad we have our tickets and can be there. -
Is Kelvin P*****?

We all thought he had a little too much to drink as well and couldn't stop laughing......but as others have said, he did seem ok later on. -
I think where ever it had been held people would have moaned.....too far north and you would have all the southerners moaning, down south....well, whats been happening, people moaning. I am in an awkward part of the country where it seems to take ages to get anywhere, I may be in the south but it is still a bloody long way to go to get to Poole. I must admit this weekend is going to be a very expensive one for us, fuel costs alone are going to be high, no chance of driving there and back and watch the meeting in one day so an overnight stay and add to that the rather expensive ticket prices (and I am not made of money, far from it, at the moment I am trying to decide what bill I don't pay so we can afford to go). I had to sit and think long and hard before we bought the tickets (and I did plenty of moaning on here too). Now after the expense, I am going to look forward to it and enjoy myself. N.B Just checked, it would take the same amount of time to get to Sheffield as it would Poole for me, and it takes slightly less to get to Coventry, also, those living in Sheffield, it takes them only 15 minutes more than me to get to Poole, and those living in Coventry have over an hour shorter journey than I have,so although I am classed as living in the south.....it's not that far south.

My hubby preferred the one in Red -
I can see where Ruby Tuesday is coming from with regards to travel...we too have at least a 4 hour drive to Poole on Saturday, but to me it will be worth every minutes stuck in a traffic Jam, every second of stress with the kids and worth every penny spent on fuel, accomodation, food etc, to have the opputunity to cheer on our lads. I think anything else I would have had to think twice about it......all I can say now is.....ROLL ON SATURDAY

World Cup Competition
crazysue replied to Middlo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes, it certainly is great that you have taken the time and trouble to post. I, for one am 100% behind your selections and will be at Poole with my whole family on Saturday cheering on the lads. With the team spirit present and with the encouragement of the home crowd I can see no reason why we can't achieve a podium place....or even the win. GO Team GB.....do us proud -

They also touched upon the subject of ice speedway......but the noise level had increased so much by that time in my house I couldn't hear what was said. -

Would you beleive I sat there waiting for it to come on for an hour, then as soon as the interview starts, world war 3 breaks out between the kids.....typical -

Thanks for the answer Steve, don't think 4pm is too bad as it gives us a couple of hours from when we check in at our hotel and I'm sure we can keep them sort of occupied for an hour.....will just have to keep promising youngest a photo of Mikael Max (I know, how could a child of mine support a non british rider). Edit..... can someone please confirm if air horns are allowed at Poole, that could be used as another bribery tactic to be good in the queue -

Well for me, meeting is all down to what sort of time we arrive in Poole and what time we have to start queuing..... -

When you say to arrive early Steve, what sort of time do you have in mind. We are trying to work out what time to leave here on Saturday morning (although we are also looking at doing part of the drive on the Friday night and staying at services on the M3). Although I can't see my lot being able to cope with standing still for hours on end (I would be forced to break my promise to Tabby3 and get drunk to put up with it)....maybe I should have the gone the disabled ticket route. -

The Team Denmark Song
crazysue replied to ha en bra födelsedag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It is indeed an excellent song, and something I have seen and heard develop over the last few months....in fact copies of this was being given out at Scotts testimonial to forum members by one of our danish forum members. I have been playing a copy of this in my car since the end of April, only the demo, then the proper copy from May onwards. This song was played at the Danish grand prix by the band. -

What ever my reservations and horror at paying those ticket prices, I am actually really looking forward to this now, and that picture of the 1st bend does put my mind at ease a little......now all we have to do is decide what time to leave here on Saturday morning......and hope that Team GB make it to the final. -

crazysue replied to David_Furniture's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well after being undecided about paying the hugely over priced tickets, I for one will be extremely annoyed if I then can't see anything. Surely these things should have been thought about, I am taking my 3 children and my youngest is really small in height, not going to be much fun for him if all he can see is peoples legs. OK you can say arrive early but for those of us who have to work on the Friday and travel down on the Saturday it's not so easy and with my kids I can't stand in a queue for hours on end...maybe I should have paid the even more exhorbitant(sp) price for the disabled area (where my kids should really be)but then they didn't do disabled kids prices did they. -

When I rang and booked my tickets I asked the same question, after several conflabs with his colleagues the bloke came back to me and said they thought standing was on the corners.
