Coventry V Kings Lynn Fri 31st July 2015
Aces51 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They've haven't necessarily got to win 3 away. Two 4 point away wins and an away loss of less than 7 will do or, any combination that gives them 9 away points or 8 points and a better points for and against than BV. Providing of course that neither team drops any home points or that BV don't pick up any more away. -
He was outstanding last night but it was a nasty looking crash. He caught the fence trying to race Max Fricke to the line. A big loss for Lakeside because not only would he have scored well but also taken a r/r. Going to be difficult to find a suitable replacement tonight and tomorrow.

National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale
Aces51 replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Go on, you know you want to. Not every day you get the opportunity to have your name recorded for posterity in the new stadium of the most famous speedway club in the world. At £49 a bargain. Like any organisation mistakes will be made and maybe that explains the problem one fan seems to have had. The other side of the coin is that there have previously been posts on the BV forum and I think on here, complimenting Morton for going above and beyond expectations to help fans. All the grandstand tickets are now sold for the opening meeting so anyone hoping to go needs to get their standing tickets asap. (I'm just trying to remember was it 10 or 20% commission I was promised). -
I know he was excluded for moving at the tapes I was just using tape offence as shorthand to cover both riders. However, I hadn't thought through that he couldn't then go off 15m.Still puzzled as to why Jonsson didn't go in heat 15 with a league point at stake.
-
Good result for the Aces made even better by watching the updates from Poole. Some decent races but not a lot of passing. Lakeside did better than expected although relied mainly on two riders, Jonsson and Bech, who were both impressive. Clegg did better than his points suggest and fought hard. Don't know why Jonsson was replaced in the race when he and Zagar were excluded for tape offences. If he had started on 15 meters with Zagar there was every chance he would have scored at least a point whereas putting Clegg in was always likely to end with him finishing last. Also, why no Jonsson in heat 15 when it was still possible for Lakeside to earn a point? For the Aces a solid team performance, it took too long to get going but I always felt we would win comfortably. Nasty fall for Bech in heat 15. He walked back to the pits so hopefully he is ok. Interestingly, it was Craig Cook who stopped and spent time making sure he was ok whilst he was still down on the track and nice to see Neil Vatcher shaking his hand to thank him.

Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 29/7/15

If he does that he'll have no energy left for speedway. -
I'll be there. Looking forward to seeing AJ and unless things go badly wrong, 3 points for the Aces.

National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale

I received a confirmation email when I bought it. I was'nt expecting to receive anything else until I see it in prime position at the opening meeting. -
Maybe because Auty's EL average using the Speedway Star figures is 6.85 and Garrity's is 6.82. Don't know how accurate their stats are.

So was my reply although my tablet doesn't do smilies.

I appreciate the smileys and the wind up but not really any difference is there unless you think Ward would have withdrawn from the meeting of his own volition if he hadn't been tested. Presumably as you think it's disgusting thinking of signing Dudek and there is no real difference between him and Ward, you will be against his return to Poole next year.

Kings Lynn Vs Belle Vue : Wed 23rd July
Aces51 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congratulations to King's Lynn on a solid performance. One or two Aces didn't perform as hoped but that happens to most teams in most away matches. Good to see Cook scoring well at a track where he is supposed to struggle and Zagar is having a good spell after his early season woes. -

Not for the first time, they were 10 up at Belle Vue and lost. -

Despite his relatively low score Bjerre was certainly trying on Monday. A fall when second and coming up against some determined performances from the Aces made him look worse than he was. There wasn't a race when he was just tootling round. Tonight will tell but there are no easy races for heat leaders these days. -

Not this year we have picked up 12 points away from home, a lot more than anyone other than Coventry and Poole. Having said that I think King's Lynn are very strong at home, unbeaten so far and should win tonight. Hopefully, we'll get at least a point. -
The current league position is that unless Belle Vue drop points at home Swindon have to pick up 13 points away from home to get 4th place and that assumes we don't pick up anymore points away and Swindon don't drop any at home. Not impossible but a tall order. I can understand Poole not wanting to face the Aces following our aggregate win over them earlier this year.

Richie Worrall (the Future Of Speedway)
Aces51 replied to topaz325's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm fairly sure that Belle Vue offered him a team place this year but he wanted to go to King's Lynn. By the time they decided they didn't want him the Aces had completed their team. As for guest rides surely he has to show he is the best available at the time. Richie did have a poorer year lat year but it was nothing to do with signing for Belle Vue, he had a poor year at Ipswich as well. I have sympathy with his lack of track time point which is one of the issues the new stadium should help with next year. -
Hopefully, the weather is not going to win this one. Kings Lynn are always attractive opposition and should be tough to beat if Bjerre really is back on form. I think the Aces will win, Zagar seems to be riding well again and Cookie seems full of confidence after acquiring his new frame.
-
But were they so rigorous? Wasn't this hearing a result of Coventry raising the issue with the SCB. Isn't it only Belle Vue they pursue of their own initiative?
-
I suspect the Swindon stadium is going to be a much bigger project than Newport was. Also, isn't this a greyhound stadium where speedway are going to be tenants, therefore there may not be the same influence or pressure to get it built in time. Hopefully, all will go well and next year we shall see two new EL stadiums.

Kings Lynn Vs Belle Vue : Wed 23rd July
Aces51 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An important match for both teams in deciding who potentially finishes 3rd in the league. The Stars have not yet lost at home and gained 8 points away so are currently +8. The Aces have dropped 5 points at home but picked up 12 away so are +7. A win for the Aces effectively puts them in a better position than the Stars. I think the Stars will do enough to win if Bjerre is back to form but the Aces should pick up a point and I wouldn't be totally surprised if they did manage a win. -
Just added it to my Android tablet. Very impressed, much easier than searching YouTube I like the way the videos are categorised and I'm sure this will become a brilliant source as more material is added. Many thanks to those who had the idea and did the hard work to make this available.

According to another rumour Belle Vue asked the GRA if they could race on Wednesday but they refused. No idea if there is any truth in the rumour but seems doubtful to me as the GRA have never refused before. Problem with Wednesdays is that we can't get onto the track until after the greyhounds finish at about 6pm. It doesn't leave much time if there are problems with the track.
