  1. Says 1pm on the tickets, on the official website and on the BSPA website. Not sure how much clearer they can make it. Perhaps it's just Wolverhampton that need to get their act together.
  2. I can't either but Wolves and Belle Vue have a history of hard fought matches regardless of how good or poor our respective sides have been. Remember it is the closest we get to a local derby.
  3. I agree WestGorton1884. Reasons for optimism but far too soon to start drawing conclusions good or bad. Early season always throws up some surprises and not yet time for any team to be ordering the champagne or pressing the panic button. What does seem certain is that we shall again be privileged to see some brilliant racing at the NSS and that means I know I'll be happy come October. Happier still if we reach the play offs and even more so if we win it.
  4. You know you would have liked both but as they say, you have to be in it to win it. I thought it was sad to see a club with Poole's pedigree fall so easily at the first hurdle. 🤔😂
  5. You can buy the dvd, if you want to have a real speedway feast order the Peter Craven meeting at the same time. Not if you want to win the second most important trophy, a bit late already. 😂😉
  6. Belle Vue said there was a queue of people waiting to get in but also that the paramedics were attending to someone and that the racing couldn't start until they had finished. They held the parade whilst we were waiting and although I didn't look at my watch my impression was that we didn't seem to be waiting for very long for the first race. The meeting wasn't late finishing.
  7. Video of heat 7 from last night. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.32025
  8. So Belle Vue won because they now know the racing lines and best set ups for the NSS. A bit like every other home team then, it's called home track advantage. Poole had those advantages in the home leg and yet could manage only a lucky 2 point win. The truth is that this Poole team are mediocre, they will be stronger when Newman returns and hopefully KK will find form. I was impressed by Shanes despite his poor points return. Once again we were entertained by some brilliant racing. Craig Cook was majestic and was never challenged but the real highlight for me was our two reserves. Bewley was so smooth, so assured and so fast. His winning times were in line with all of the other races, his heat 2 win was faster than KK in heat 1. Smith was delighted to have beaten Andersen and deservedly so. Both these young English riders are great prospects and will benefit from riding in all 3 leagues. It's difficult to believe that Bewley hasn't yet ridden for one full season.
  9. As I said after the first leg, I am certainly not counting any chickens. This has the potential to be a close match. Poole have riders who have already shown their liking for the NSS and the absence of Kerr, who hasn't shone on his previous visits, could strengthen them. 48-42 to the Aces.
  10. Looking at the comments on Facebook and updates it looks as if there was very little passing. Good result for the Aces with another solid team performance, nice to see our inexperienced reserves picking up points and that Steve Worrall seems to be continuing his year on year improvement.
  11. I didn't expect that result and Poole are fortunate not to be going into the second leg 4 points behind. A solid performance from our 1-5, Bewley did far better than I thought in his first Premiership meeting and both he and Smith will improve as the season progresses. It's far too early to start counting chickens. Poole will be determined not to bow out of the competition at the first hurdle and KK, Kurtz, Andersen and Shanes have all shown a liking for the NSS. Add Klindt, who should be capable of scoring a lot of points at reserve and we could have a fight on our hands. However, I think we can certainly win by more than the 2 point deficit we have to overcome.
  12. Too early yet to judge any form but I think overall we are stronger and I'm hoping for an away win.
  13. I couldn't find any that would represent that this is a totally honest and justified assessment presented without even a hint of bias. So that's why she was invited to the recent Poole soiree. You have wasted your time. She's a woman of independent thought, sound judgement and will not be tempted by such obvious attempts to influence her decisions ........... I think.
  14. In that case we've definitely lost. HA is the master, how has he got away with it for so long? I think Brady Kurt had been taking lessons as well if his performance at the Peter Craven meeting is anything to go by. Cookie of course is a totally reformed character.
  15. Wednesday will be our first meeting and our reserves are going to need more time to show their undoubted potential. I can see Poole winning by 10+ at home. It will be closer at the NSS, KK, Andersen and Kurt will do well there and it could suit Holder and Shanes. Klindt will no doubt pop out of the gate first in at least a couple of rides and could be good for a decent score. However, I think the Aces 1-5 will outscore their 1-5 and do enough for a home win. Overall it will be a shock if Poole don't win on aggregate. Later in the season it will be a different tale.
  16. Has Chapman put on weight, calling him Busty seems a bit unkind. 😂 Belle Vue, who have had much less time to get organised, published their season ticket details on the 16th March.
  17. It looks as if they have cycle speedway in Japan. https://vimeo.com/92584105
  18. At Belle Vue children under 12 are free in the standing terrace but it is expensive once your children are older. However, the prices are no more expensive than many other tracks. Those who find it difficult to afford can consider watching the Colts. Adults £10 and under 18's free. Last year the NL racing was excellent and that is probably a good way to introduce youngsters to the sport with many riders of an age to which they can relate.
  19. An amazing meeting which proved beyond doubt that you don't need the best riders in the world to produce excellent racing. Kenneth Bjerre was a deserved winner. He was passing riders for fun and certainly not backing off when he was in some tight situations. Batchelor was impressive as were Hougard, Fricke and Brady Kurtz, particularly in his earlier races. Zagar had some good races but said it was his first competitive meeting this year and it showed in his gating. All 16 riders gave it their all and it showed how brilliant this sport can be if you give riders a track which allows them to show their skills.
  20. According to the fixtures on the official Belle Vue website theRe is no fixture on the 3rd May. The home meetings against Kings Lynn are in June and September.
  21. The explanation, inclement weather causing dampness to rise to the surface, sounds familiar. I wonder where they got that idea from. The difference is that Belle Vue discovered it was caused by the landfill refuse. I hope someone hasn't been making money on the side burying rubbish under the track. 😂 Good to see that some fans are now being offered something although it hardly represents fair compensation for the number of heats they didn't see and offers nothing at all to those who wouldn't be going to Poole next week.
  22. Without Chris Morton and David Gordon the club would have closed some time ago because the dog track wasn't sustainable. It was their vision, skill and hard work over many years that brought about the building of the NSS. Without that prospect nobody would have carried on sustaining the losses. Take whatever view you will but I think everybody can see that, at the very least, not all of the problems last year can be laid at their doorstep. In fact it is becoming clearer that the root cause of the monetary problems, the cancellation of the opening meeting, was caused by matters over which they had no control. On that topic the damming press made by the Chairman of the BSPA certainly didn't help the reputation of the club or its ability to survive. The silence from the same source over the Poole fiasco is very telling. I would have thought the ability to be even handed and impartial was a prerequisite of the job. Still on the topic of impartiality, there are rumours that Robert Lambert might get one of the two British places in the GP challenge with King getting the other. Cook has a much stronger claim than Lambert. He has a higher average and finished higher in the British Final, he is at the moment the better rider and should get one of the places. Time will tell if the rumour is true.
