  1. Aces leading 25-11, can't say I expected us to be winning so easily.
  2. Doctoring tracks is symptomatic of the win at all costs attitude which has contributed to the sports decline. Winning trophies is good for the hard core fans and glory hunters but does little to help the sport at large. Individual team success will be worth little if the sport continues to decline. Nobody, potential new fans or, those who no longer go, will be enticed to attend in the future by gate and go racing when the play offs are televised. It is an opportunity when more people are going to attend at the tracks and to view on TV to show how good the sport can be, not to confirm many peoples preconception that whoever gates first wins. Many condemn promoters for looking after their own interests rather than seeing the bigger picture and now some fans are doing exactly the same.
  3. No. But if you take the rained off programme with you, you get a free insert. Belle Vue have decided that it isn't commercially viable now that the Sky money isn't on offer. They do lots of advertising on social media so we'll have to see what the crowd is like.
  4. You're entitled to your opinion but nobody forces anybody to contribute and obviously a lot of people have decided that they want to help and support Dan. It's entirely up to you if you don't. Those contributing are not causing any harm or problem to those who don't wish to so why would you want to deny them that opportunity. These days too many people want to force their opinions on those who disagree and this seems to be another example.
  5. Bewley is a tremendous loss and Worrall is not yet back to his pre injury form but Cook is almost back to his best. It will be close but I think we can win. Even a draw will do, we need only one point from tonight or tomorrow to qualify.
  6. Having watched him at NL and PL levels he certainly looks a good prospect and hopefully, with opportunities at CL and PL will continue to develop. A good signing.
  7. Poole fans just making themselves look silly again. One of them thinks he plays psychological games, he does if you're still at school and another one, who doesn't understand the appropriate use of, of and have, now seems to think he has physic powers.
  8. And Mitchell Davey. Actions speak louder than words and Cookie has shown just exactly what sort of person he is by doing something he didn't have to do to help some of his fellow riders who have suffered serious injury.
  9. Wolves are very poor away so an emphatic win for the home side.
  10. Jack rode for the Colts on Friday so I would assume he will be back for you.
  11. No, we wouldn't have had any trouble fitting it in especially now we know that PL teams can race on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That does apply to everyone, doesn't it?
  12. I said that I didn't remember many complaining and you say several did. Not much of a difference between not many and several. Don't get me wrong, it's human nature for more people to complain when it affects them. It's not just a King's Lynn thing.
  13. It is whoever agreed Monday and Thursday with the FIM, without first making sure it would be approved at the AGM, who are to blame for the eventual fiasco at the AGM. Other than through injuries, illness and other unforeseeable circumstances, it shouldn't happen that teams have to ride league and cup fixture without heat leaders. Unfortunately, in the disorganised world of UK speedway it seems beyond the ability of those in charge to organise a fixture list that avoids it. However, until those in charge get their act together, we have to live with it and I don't remember many King's Lynn supporters complaining when they came to the NSS when we were missing Cook, Fricke and the injured Worrall.
  14. Of course there's a difference. Many of the riders may be the same but if you use CL averages, either real or converted using the 1.3 factor for those riders who have only a PL average, then a CL team building limit of 42.50 equates to 55.25 in the PL or if you want to do it the other way round a PL team building limit of 42.5 is 32.7 in the CL. By way of example, Belle Vue effectively have what would be 5 CL heat leaders and 2 CL second strings.
  15. I don't think so. He wanted and expected to be back at Belle Vue in 2017 and he and Steve are very close and help each other. Some riders are able to perform better on the smaller tracks. Scott Nicholls for example. Richie was not doing well by his standards at Glasgow, he moved to Edinburgh and apart from a fall has been superb. I want all British riders to do well and even more so those who are Aces assets but if it is his engines it is taking a long time to sort out.
  16. I hope it is his engines but I'm not sure it is. Richie has always struggled at the NSS. Why do you think he is not riding for the Aces when he is an asset?
  17. I like Chris Harris, always have but his days as a number 1 have long gone. Hello be no more reliable than Brady who won't suddenly become consistent just because he moves to a different heat leader position.
  18. The really sensible ones know it is sometimes foolish to rely on what appears to be the plan in August being the one agreed in November, like FNR Monday and Thursday and only one over 8. They have plans B,C etc in the hope that they will cover the last minute fag packet proposals that are put forward and agreed.
  19. You don't mean those dastardly Glaswegians have done something terrible to Craig? I should have warned him about going abroad.
  20. From what I've seen of Brady he has the riding ability to be good and riders at his stage of development often have a standstill or going backwards season, so I wouldn't judge him too soon. To me the question marks are more about his professionalism and dedication and I have no idea how he applies himself in those regards and whether he has the right mental approach. I think there are a few question marks on that last aspect but give the lad a chance. He's young, next year or the year after might be the time to make a judgement but not yet.
  21. We were good at losing when we were at Kirky Lane. Unfortunately, it wasn't deliberate.
  22. I can honestly say that had never occurred to me. I have obviously underestimated Rosco. Hopefully, Mark Lemon can watch and learn.
  23. Somerset will want to win next Wednesday regardless of their position in the league. They'll want to maintain their momentum, get revenge for our away win and send out a message to the Aces in advance of our KO Cup semi final. It's going to be a tough meeting for the Aces without Dan Bewley. There is no way that r/r can compensate for his absence so the remaining riders are going to have to be at their best. If they are we will win.
  24. If we lose at home to Somerset but then pick up a point at Swindon it will come down to points for and against and at the moment that would favour us. Wolverhampton could also qualify but I think their chances are very slim. I think King's Lynn will finish top and I agree with you that, if we qualify, they will choose us. I think it will then probably be a Somerset, KL final although never underestimate the Aces. Nobody thought we would win at Somerset and Swindon and although it would be even more difficult without Dan we could still do it against the odds.
