  1. Bought mine when first advertised and blackmailed family to buy some as well, although I think I ended up paying for them. Thinking it's now time to buy another. What more could anyone want than to be immortalised in stone (ok, brick then) at the home of the world famous Belle Vue Aces. You can even buy a paver and have it inscribed with the name of someone you don't like and watch everyone walk all over it. Fans of opposing clubs could raise funds and have a Matt Ford concourse (joke, before anyone starts). :t:
  2. It's good to see that the local councillor is onside. That can only help with any planning issues raised by local residents. http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Motorsport/British+Speedway
  3. I sincerely hope this isn't the end of the road for a new stadium and feel for all Reading fans.
  4. That wasn't the point. I was just making fun of TNT's ambiguous post, not a serious comment about Ludvig's ability.
  5. So you don't think he is better than reserve standard, a bit harsh, you should be giving the lad encouragement.
  6. It would be good to see him realise his undoubted potential. I hope he does.
  7. It's good to see that a number of clubs have managed to secure new sponsorship this year and that some of them are not just for this season. Well done to Lakeside et al.
  8. If Belle Vue were to offer him a place but he turned it down because he didn't want to ride there, he could hardly claim he was being denied the right to work. In any event, as a non EU citizen, does he have any such rights?
  9. Patrick will be a good signing providing he regains his confidence after his bad crash last year. Another season at Kirky Lane would have done him no good at all. There is every chance he will increase his average significantly at EOS but would not have done so had he stayed at Belle Vue. I wish him well.
  10. Sounds about right, that would be about £41,500 at £40a brick.:-)
  11. With that Wolves team it looks a if CVS is determined to deprive us of the wooden spoon. :-)
  12. The above is a quote replying to a comment on another thread questioning if Belle Vue had paid the transfer fee for Rory Schlein. Make of it what you will but it could be interpreted that Rory was approached long befpre August, not to say though that was necessarily by Kings Lynn. Perhaps it is just coincidence that he has ended up there.
  13. A brilliant initiative and exactly what is needed to encourage British talent. Well done to the Lakeside management and Hagon Shocks.
  14. Not at all. I evaluate what has been said and in this instance I find it more probable than not that this was not the first time the silencer had been used. If there was evidence that the silencer had only been purchased immediately prior to the Lakeside match then that would be convincing. The evidence of the sacked team member would not. What I do accept is that he should only be punished for what can be proved and it may be difficult to prove other than what he admits,
  15. No. My experience of life tells me that he would be extremely unfortunate if he was caught the first time he used it. I also witnessed his jet propelled starts at BV earlier that same week.
  16. I shall be more impressed by his integrity if he is completely honest about this matter and reveals when the tampering took place so that all appropriate match results can be amended. Perhaps his sacked team member will tell him.
  17. Your posts indicate that you think nothing of honesty and sportsmanship if your twisted logic leads you to blame Lakeside for bringing to light that someone has cheated. Does it mean nothing that in the process points money has potentially been taken from other riders and that a team could have gained an unfair advantage which could deprive another team(s) of a place in the play offs. How do you know "dozens of other riders" have done the same? Yes, there are the usual rumour mongers and comments from riders, some of whom are not riding well and of course that impartial source, Roscoe. It may, or, not be true but it in no way excuses anyone else. Cheating has no place in sport and when found has to be stamped out. The fact that Kennett is British has no bearing on the appropriate punishment.
  18. Nothing unusual at Kirky Lane. No rider from either team could be said to have ridden more poorly than they have at various times this season.
  19. Extracts from the 2011 Speedway Regulations. 10.30 Only homologated Silencers (without modifications) are permitted. It is an offence to present a Motorcycle for examination with a modified Silencer. 10.31 The whole of the exhaust gases shall pass through the exhaust system that incorporates the Silencer, which must not be modified or tampered with in any way.
  20. From his performance last week I am pretty sure it won't be Bomber.
  21. They probably can prove when the silencer was purchased and it may be reasonable to assume that it has been used since then.
  22. I must say that I am very impressed with the reaction of Coventry management and their fans on here. It is good to see that sort of attitude to cheating, which I think has to be dealt with severely, both as a justified punishment for the crime and as a deterrent to others.
  23. That is the next problem. If he is found guilty, what effect should this have on his scores in other matches?
